If you have a good story, or solid message to share, it doesn't matter which camera you use. People will watch regardless. You can only really tell the difference when you watch comparison videos like this. So buy the camera you can afford and go out and create!

100 Bucks Are 100 Bucks, but I think thats not a dealbreaker for the GoPro. If you already got one and don’t want to change your setup you surely can just keep using it. But if you are about to get into filming, I think it’s not that simple. I for one, am looking for a camera to capture my bikepacking trip. It is most likely the biggest plus of the x3 not having to care about framing and just enjoying the trip. The rest is done in post.
While I support your statement, the setup can sometimes have a great impact on you story 😃
The gopro definitely looks like it picks up way more detail, especially in low light.
Agree, but for the vast majority of shooting conditions you want a fast, stable, motion blurry shot not a slow static shot.
Insta 360 is way better this reviewer is go pro agnostic he didn't spend the time to update to latest firmware or even get the new features that came with update he didn't Tweeks the color profile nor even export on high bit rate or higher resolution he used everything in standard mode that's how they don't do better reviews
My friend's GoPro11 exploded on his head while he was playing with a ball. GoPro 11 cameras get very hot and may burn.

The invisible selfie stick effect on the X3 is insane. I've never seen any other 360 cameras achieve that seamless of a stitch line
X3 is my choice, much more versatile than a gopro and opens a bunch of new angles that makes me go out and shoot again. I had the X2 for a long time and considering to upgrade to the X3 due the larger sensor and 360 hdr. I still keep my gopro hero 9 for some shots where I need high framerates in 4K, but for 99% of the situations my choice is X2, no brainer
I have X3 and GoPro 10
Mainly use GoPro since the video quality is much better, and I can use ND filter. Also one thing most review/comparison video won't mention is the time to turn on and start record, my GoPro 10 takes about 2 seconds, and X3 takes way longer.
X3 doesn't have a decent lens guard (only the crappy sticky ones) and as a action camera it's too easy to damage the non replaceable lens element.
If I am not doing sports X3 is fun to play with. (But I need to carry a selfie stick which is a bit inconvenient)
Hey Caleb, I shoot out front of the car a lot to share my journey, yet I find the over-aggressive stabilisation of the GoPro causes the curves to ‘jar’ as it starts to straighten the curve, then jumps, then does it again… so instead of a smooth curve in the road, you get a jumpy curve. Did you find this on your test, and does the X3 do the same? Many thanks. 👍

Nice review about the camera. Not too many guys can pull off a mustache - yes, it works for you. Great b-roll footage, fantastic audio, and fabulous filming. I'll still with the Insta360 ONERS Twin Camera I purchased four months ago. I have to purchase a 360 view camera with two lenses - perhaps in 2023...
The Hero 11’s 10-bit color is a legit game changer. I could never go back to an action camera without it. You can enable 200Mb/s 10-bit with the Labs firmware AND it has a LOG profile. All that in a GoPro! It’s as awesome and useful as it sounds.
If I want to vlog about introducing a city like Seoul, which can be a better camra? Go pro series or Insta 360 X3?

I have insta 360 one x2 and GoPro Hero 9 because I create travel vlogs. My opinion is that in quality, video details and colors presepective I prefer GoPro Hero. If you want to give your video great exposure with invisible selfie stick and you want to just shoot and reframe later then insta360 one x2 is my preference.
I will go for Insta360 X3. Love the versatility.

Clicked on this video because of knowing Moment for filters for my Fujifilm. But wanted to see the comparison thoughts from someone that has photographic eye. It was perfect, I shoot photos with Fujifilm but motovlog with GoPro & Insta360. Still think the GoPro has better colors & blacks. Stoked on the bit of knowing you, as well as having a young one myself just seemed to speak to me a lot. ✌

GoPro has MUCH better image quality, way better slo-mo and is unquestionably better for serious action shots. But the full spherical image and limitless options of editing in post are something entirely else. You need to try it to fully appreciate the brand-new world of creative options
this is exactly the fact I couldnt decide myself and bought both :D - It's on a high price tag for sure but we are talking about cameras that last for ages (unless you are making professional videos as a living). I was filming with my GoPro 3 until last summer and it still had a pretty decent image quality. But was about time to upgrade. But still waiting for both to arrive tho
@@dufzyy That's probably the best option for most. To get both if you can afford that. You will be set for a few years at least. And if not both, then get the cam that you will be clearly using the most within a year or two. Wanna try the new and exciting 360 shots? Don't mind the additional workflow and lower picture quality? Get the X3. It's a wonderful cam! Need a rugged cam for quick and 'normal' action shots, or the best picture above anything, then grab a GoPro 9/10/11. Alternatively DJI Action3 but I would wait for next year's Action4 in that case.

I love my X3! Im still getting use to editing it..but I keep improving so the videos are looking great! I think that the quality of the pic does lack a bit..BUT ..I dont care! I can reframe the coolest shots ,its crazy and I think most Insta 360 owners dont care as well..we accept it for what it is and have fun with it!

It has better slow more frame rates than what go pro has u didn't spend the time to update firmware or even bother to check the 3k 100fps or even export at higher bit rate ..most insta 360 x3 reviewers will give a bad footage and they don't spend the time to dig into the settings update firmware and or unlock those slow MO and more features but it's what it is

The thing is, nobody seem to talk about how does it switch from front to rear camera during shoots or does it do it on it's own where it kinda slowly pans from front to rear? I mean, how will it know where the action is if it does the panning by itself? and are there any possibility of mounting it on your chest like a regular Gopro and make use of the front cam?
So if you use it on single lens mode it will just shoot in one direction. If you use it in 360 and capture everything then you can actually decide after where to point the camera. You can use their mobile app which is amazing (check link in description for the first video I did on it) or use their desktop software
@@Sir-Kay You do the shoot in 360 and the reframe the shot on the Insta360 app for mobile or desktop. Use keyframes to edit choose the framing and then render those footages out.

Do you sell the old gropro?
The X3 is my first 360 and in spite of the lesser video quality it has pretty much replace my GoPro. The versatility and extreme ease of use far outweighs anything people think you give up over the GoPro. When insta360 comes out with the next X? they will seal gopro's faith if they have user replaceable lenses. It's really the only gripe I have, everything else is a wish. Fantastic camera for us average users.

@@godofeternals The ability to reframe any shot within the 360 degree view of the camera. For example if I put a Gopro on my kayak pointing forward then I only get a video of whats ahead of me but if I put the X3 in the same position I can show whats ahead then switch to whats behind and then show whats on the left sidelight side or up or what ever just with one camera. The Gopro will give you a better quality image of what ever it's pointing at but if a unicorn walked behind your GoPro nobody would ever know.....No worries with the 360 camera. YMMV

The gopro Max a this point is a technological dinosaur, so that would be rather unfair
I have the GoPro max and I like it, but if I were buying again today, I would get the X3. Once the max 2 comes out that might change.
I will say this, the every day lens cover of the X1/2/3 is way better but the easy snap on/off lens protectors in the max win.
But I did scope up a GoPro 11 on that killer Black Friday sale they had and I can’t wait to get into it.
Why not compare the Maxx to the insta?

Single lens mode video quality is nowhere close to that of GoPro Hero 11's video quality. I was expecting you would mention that. I also got Insta360 X3 and love it as a 360 camera but someone who is primary looking for an action camera and sees this video's narrative then it might look like that buying X3 is like buying a 360 camera and getting an additional action camera equally good as GoPro Hero 11 which is not the case. If someone wants to buy a camera that will always be fixed to a bike or motorcycle helmet, then GoPro Hero 11 is much better choice in terms of Video Quality and also in terms of audio quality and it mounts better on helmet compared to X3.
Agreed the GoPros single mode is better but I don’t think the X3 is as far behind! For a user who mostly wants to shoot 360 and occasionally shoot single lens it’s a great deal imho
@@moment GoPro has a single lens mode only and so they can give their best. Insta360 on the other hand gives much more than just one view. Yes, in side by side comparisons, GoPro quality is killer but who does side by side comparison in real life?
I am down with the reframing the shot later. Such a game changer. Now I dont have to plan the shots thaaaaaat much. I can focus on the action or the place rather than trying to be a cinematographer when travelling. :D

There are a billion insta360 videis on utube but not one of them tells if 4k mode is fisheyed or straight.
Just ordered the Gopro 11, here in the UK Gopro 11 cost me £339 with 15% off the Insta 360 was priced at £459, i go for image quality and the Insta 360 images looked bland compared to Gopro, if you want to capture all the detail it's got to be Gopro but if you like gimmicks and image quality takes a back seat then get an Insta 360, and here in the UK you can save over a £100 getting a Gopro.

The GoPro still has better details and dynamic range, but the X3 is so flexible in post though. It all comes down to what you’re willing to deal with 1) more post production time or 2) GoPro bugs. LOL!!!

360 camera - the lenses will be scratched on a first day of action use. Lense guards = worse quality and fogging. So I can't buy it till they make the lenses changeable.
GoPro have 10 bit colours and BETTER pictures quality, pro settings control.

Many say GoPro is better at detail etc. But being an action camera, it's reliability, battery life and field of view are the priority for the intended purpose. What's the point for a 5 minute 4k120fps video with a black screen with the finest detail showing every single pixel of black??
With some color correction and editing the X3 can be similar quality to the gopro hero 11
I am really confused, why my note 10 plus is making better looking videos than both of these action cameras. The only thing they do better is stabilisation. Besides that they lack.

No doubt that GoPro has its own superior level of Color science. I don’t think any of competitors come near their color scheme. Nonetheless, GoPro missed to release their 360 camera update this year and left us with no option to go for another competitor. I don’t see any news flying around about GoPro Max2. I have to choose this creepy insta 360 camera.

Have both and hate the x3. It can get some interesting shots but the video quality is trash. I also hate taking the stick with me. GoPro also has a better post workflow.

There are some cool angles where insta 360 is very handy with invisible selfie stick, but on normal scenario the video quality didn't look that good, plus the video look a little bendy after cropping due to 360 angle
The only problem will be when you scratch the lenses will cost 200 dollar
Super valid point. I am alredy on my 3 insta360 because of scratched lenses. Would be a game changer, if they would add screw in lenses.

About to say the same thing. Literally every review I have watched keep quoting the RRP when it never sells for that! Currently £350 in the UK, £120 cheaper than X3
There’s something so silly about running around with a stick to take a video of one’s self in some secluded area.
That said the 360 is awesome, but I wish there was more use than just “drone effect” or “3rd person effect”. What it appears to make up for with its unique ability actually lessens creativity. But I’m just a conceited twit, that’s currently buying an x3.
