    Very informative video. One request, Please post a video regarding how to shape a chrysanthemum pot, like yours. There are so many videos on how to grow chrysanthemum, but there is NONE on shaping the plant. Hope you are the first to post it.
    Your videos are always good and your attitude is humble. You are blessed. Way to go.

      @Sukanya Kakoty, I am from Guwahati and I believe you are from same place too...All those plants are available in Nurseries in Khetri area and here are the Nurseries I collected those plants - 1. Triangular oxalis (Maa Durga Nursery) 2. Rhoeo tricolor (Daffodil old nursery) 3. Hybrid Vinca (Ordered seeds from SeedsnPots and there are many other colors available as well. You can order seeds based on color) Haven't seen Vinca much in Nurseries but have seen in Kachari. For fertilizer, you can try any Nurseries or Fertico store (opposite to Bora service, Ulubari)

    Hi. I cut down my plant in jan but still it's not growing like it was in ur case. How did you make it so bushy. What fertilizers U were adding. The leaves of my plant are turning brown. N getting dried. What should I do?

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  4 года назад +4

      @Pragya Hazari, Thank you for watching the video and here are the answers - 1st Question - How did I make it so bushy - i). I grew DWARF variety and they don't grow much taller if they get good enough sunlight, in fact they always looks bushy.
      ii). It's always a good idea t use somewhat bigger container and then grow more than a single plant in one container. Same thing I did and I grew 3 plants.
      iii). We would need to rate the pot so that they grow evenly. I do it once in 10-15 days. Because of all these things, they grew well. Other than that, we don't need to do anything. But please note that, if you grow taller variety then you might need wire to support the stem so that it looks much bushier and even.
      2nd Question - Fertilizer - If we prepare the soil properly at the repotting time, it's okay even if we don't fertilize Chrysanthemum on a regular basis. Before they produced the buds, I was applying NPK 19:19:19 once in 45-60 days. Dose - 1/2 teaspoon in 1 liter water and then applied on soil. This I did just as a maintenance.
      3rd Question - The leaves of my plant are turning brown. N getting dried. What should I do? - If they are getting lots of direct sunlight, please avoid keeping them in that place. Few hours of morning sun would be fine. But from your symptoms, it looks like there is Potassium deficiency as Chrysanthemum needs lots of Potassium.
      Anyway, depending on the climate, those symptoms are also fine as they grow well in Winter time. So, you really don't have to worry too much :-) I believe, I have answered your questions. If there is any, let me know. Thank you :-)

    So just pruning the plant is the trick.?
    even i see almost buds like development on the plants during April May, but they don't flower, instead they become leaves !! What should i do to get the flowers ?

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  4 года назад

      @Saluto, Yeah, that's the trick and also need to do at right time. Hmm...buds actually don't turn to leaves...perhaps, those are not buds. Anyway, if you hadn't prune the old growths in winter, most likely it's not going to bloom now. We want the new growths within the time frame as they produce buds on new growth. I believe you can try the same in this year...It's June and only after around 2.5 months, we would need to busy for Winter flowering plants :-)

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  4 года назад +3

      @mjhtfans, Sorry, I forgot to say about that...actually, before recording the video, I was thinking to talk about it in the video. Later, forgot it :-( Anyway, it depends on the direction of light and we need to keep rotating the plant so that they grow evenly. I keep rotating them like once in 10-15 days and thus all sides get equal amount of sun exposure. As a result, they grow evenly. Other than this, we don't need to do anything else. Please let me know if you have any questions and thank you very much for watching and for your feedback, appreciate it :-)
      EDIT1 - One other thing that just came to my mind. Please note that, these are DWARF variety and that's why no need of wiring. But if you are growing taller variety, you might need some wire to support the stems in a uniform way to maintain the shape. Also, plz grow more than a single plant in one container (like I grew 3 plants). Thank you :-)

      @Adrianna Stha, Sorry to know you took out the buds :-( Chrysanthemum or Mums usually produce buds only once per season :-( Only sometimes, they manage to produce new buds and bloom again.
