Supposedly, the Federation reverse engineered some of Narada's 24th Century technology from scans the Kelvin took, so Kelvin 23rd Century is more advanced than the prime one. Not totally sure if that's canon since I think it came from JJ or Orci or whatever after the movie and was never stated on screen.

Hey there Retro. I'm looking at this and I'm wondering how is the original series Enterprise phasers and torpedoes are missing the Kelvin Enterprise? I found that pretty strange. I'm not sure exactly what the stats are for the Kelvin Enterprise but I'm thinking it still should be an even match concerning what happened to the Kelvin Enterprise in From Beyond. Well they ever get a properly powered Doomsday Machine mod done let's see the Kelvin Enterprise handle that. And if you ever load up the mod, let's see her take on The Liberator from Blake 7.
Well, you have to consider that the Kelvin timeline Enterprise is a dreadnought as well as an exploration cruiser, and it's actually bigger than the canon timeline Galaxy class, so it's gonna take a lot more to kill that big bastard. If only the Fed turned out Star Destroyers like the Resurgent-class and the Xyston-class. Hey, maybe you could mod up a Xyston-class or a Resurgent-class and send it into battle against the Enterprise G?
@@keyboardt8276 As far as the technology, the materials and construction methods go, that's true enough, but look at its proportions. It's the same general shape as the original Constitution class, which is much different from the 24th Century Galaxy class, so I'd have to think that the Kelvin timeline Enterprise is larger overall than the canon timeline Galaxy class. A better comparison would be the canon timeline Sovereign or Odyssey class; I think the Kelvin timeline Enterprise would be closer in size to either of those.
@@Robert_Douglass the Kelvin constitution is more slender than the Galaxy, and it's nacelles occupy a significant fraction of its length so even though it's technically 700+m long, the usable portion is only around 500m long. Meanwhile the Galaxy's usable hull is close to its advertised length of 642m because it doesn't have long nacelles inflating the value. Btw the Sovereign class is significantly smaller than the Galaxy despite being longer due to the same issue facing the Kelvin Constitution.
@@Robert_Douglass eyeballing it, it's probably somewhat larger than the Galaxy class volume wise, though not as large as its length suggests as a lot of it is taken up by its long nacelles. Tbh I was a bit underwhelmed by its size given how its description hyped it up as by far the largest ship built by starfleet; I thought it should at least be 1.5km long to deserve that kind of description. It's still one of my favorite designs alongside the Galaxy and Constitution Refit though.
I don’t think it looks like they tried to make it as ugly as possible I think it’s more like someone who doesn’t know Star Trek very well was like let’s make it look like a weird futuristic race car space ship and everyone was like yeah that sounds like a good idea and it wasn’t a good idea and it ended up pretty ugly I think if you wanna make a race car space ship your gonna need a whole different type of ship design then a constitution class or anything like that.

It's longer but not bigger than a Galaxy class due to its shape. And bigger doesn't mean better, the technology used to construct it matters too
