    Great video! I actually didn’t see this video until AFTER I ordered my KRANK F11X! Just ordered it this morning after speaking with Lance Reader (owner of KRANK GOLF) personally on the phone. Custom ordered it with the Fujikura Atmos Black shaft. My club head speed is in the 95mph range, so I’m expecting to see a significant increase in ball speed as well. Can’t wait to try it out! 👍

    I recently bought a Krank 5 wood head and put in my favorite shaft. This 5 wood hits further, higher and much more consistently than my Tour Edge EXS Pro 3 wood. I am considering the driver head you are testing in this video as my swing speed is just under 90 mph. The information you have provided is one of the few reviews of Krank drivers. I'm glad you made this video. Most everybody is looking for more distance, and that's what the OEMs are peddling every year, but only in tiny increments. I think this is a great idea. it's not like its going to put the ball automatically in the fairway 20 yds further every time. It's still up to the golfer to keep it in play. i've been thinking about getting one of these since I first found out about them.

    Great video AT! I’m all for “non-conforming” equipment. If the governing bodies really want to grow the game I think non conforming equipment is a way to make entry into the game more appealing and I also believe it will make it more enjoyable for current players which would increase rounds played.
    It makes sense for the big manufacturers to jump on board as well. Over 90% of rounds played are recreational so why do you make a product that really only is for less than 10% of your customer base?

    • @TheKingeboue27
      @TheKingeboue27 4 года назад

      Yes rather than spend a lifetime learning shoulder turns, weight transfer, swing planes ect ect ect just get an illegal club that goes further..If you can't hit a 460cc modern driver then you are doing something inherently wrong and need to fix it or stick to fairway woods off the tee.

    • @legend9018
      @legend9018 4 года назад +1

      @@TheKingeboue27 That’s not the point I was making. Golf is dying, courses are closing all over here in South Florida to put up condos and residential housing. The governing bodies need to make entry into the game easier and increase the amount of golf being played by those who are already playing by increasing their enjoyment and success.
      Just because the clubs is not conforming doesn’t mean it will swing itself. There is still skill involved. It’s stuffed shirts and prudes like you at the USGA that are going to kill this game. Are you a tour player? Then by all means use the equipment meant for SANCTIONED USGA/R&A EVENTS. Let the rest of the world have fun.

    • @TheKingeboue27
      @TheKingeboue27 4 года назад

      @@legend9018 You may not think so, but golf is a special sport. Sam Snead did it with pinheads made of wood, the game started with hickory shafts. The tec has already gone too far with clubs that shape the ball for you- learn to hit a fade and draw- it's the point of the game. Golf is diminishing more because it's getting bastardised into being like any other low rent sport. 300 yard drive means nothing nowadays. Harder the game the more satisfaction you get in the long run. Maybe some people should stick to their 'mashed potato' shouts and leave the clubs alone if they're unwilling to put in the work.

    I bought an F11 X driver and went to a club fitter in California to try different shafts to get the most distance. (Krank adapter is same as a Calloway) had the numbers from the stock shaft and the goal was to see if any of the high end shafts would give me more distance and better dispersion. Ended up with an OBAN shaft after trying 6 different shafts. Numbers were better than head with stock shaft. Played first round, all drives were at least 15 yards longer than my previous driver (not the Krank w/ stock shaft) a Wishon 959 Hi Cor and a couple 30 yards. ( maybe it was down wind or the fairways harder, but all I know is I never hit irons to the green from those places in the fairway! ). Also, off center hits I noticed the ball went relatively straighter. I am SOLD.

    You are apparently hitting these too low on the face and losing potential distance, according to what Ive heard about this clubbed. I have one and paired it with an evenflow blue reg. for my low 90's swing speed. Too cold here in Canada to give it a serious go. But I did hit a few into a field and definitely lost distance with a low hit. Dispersion was awesome. I would sure like to see you do this again with a longer tee.

    I remember playing non conforming Callaway ERC woods years ago. Made the game fun as I outdrove friends with a 3 wood. I am a lit older now and friends would scoff at me playing a non conforming driver. I also compete so I ordered the Formula 11 pro (conforming). Will see if it outperforms my TM M6. BTW, received my Formula 11 Pro a couple of weeks ago. 20 swings on the driving range on my mobile launch monitor showed no significant difference vs my TM M6 driver BUT.... I swapped the grip out and after 27 holes of testing, I can say the following. 1) my ball fight is more predictable and 2) I have driven the ball further on many holes on my course. I have added one or two more 300 plus yard drives to my round. I will continue to test over several rounds but so far, pleasantly surprised.

    I will definitely consider non conforming on the driver and the ball. I'm 62 and just hanging on to the tees my buddies play. • @Bazza47
    @Bazza47 4 года назад +4

    To me the question to ask the R&A now is should the conformity rules be reviewed because from what you've said here the longer hitters have an advantage over those of us with a slower swing speed because they are able to get a smash factor of 1.5 where as the rest of us are not so sacrifice distance to those long hitters as a result. So isn't it time to level the playing field up a bit and allow these new heads for amateur competition with some rules surrounding who could use each one so the shorter hitters can compete more fairly with the big boys.

    Curious as to how tall the face is compared to your Cobra. Your strikes were very centered but just a bit low with the Krank driver so would teeing the ball just a bit higher resolve that issue and get you the spin optimization you're looking for? Personally, I'm torn on using this driver since I sometimes play for money with my friends so I'd feel guilty if I won. It's not a lot ($1 skins, $.50 a stroke) but it's the fairness factor. It would be fun if we all had the same driver then that variable is neutralized. It would be hard to have both drivers to use on different days and be consistent, in my opinion, but I think some professionals keep different drivers for different courses so that might have to be the mindset if a person had both. Would I get one? I might if I'm just playing for fun with my wife or others and no dollars on the line.
    What I do need is a club for par 3's that will put me inside a 15 foot circle from 150+ for KP's. Those pay $5 so it'd be $60 at the end of the day! You know of any? 😉 💷⛳

      Here’s the answer. The F11PRO is on the USGA Driver conforming list. It is the fastest and longest hitting conforming driver on the planet. Like all conforming drivers, they perform at their highest spring effect at the higher swing speeds. (Read the Graph for the details). If you’re playing in a golf event that requires you to only use a driver on the USGA Driver conforming list, you have to use the F11PRO regardless of your swing speed.
      Now here’s the sad truth. If you swing less than 105 mph, you don’t get the same spring effect that the faster swing speeds get. The slower you swing the worse it gets. We at Krank don’t think that’s fair. The F11X and the F11XX are the same driver as the F11PRO, just have thinner faces to give back to the slower swing speed golfers the distance they deserve. They are meant for recreational golf which is 99% of all golf. Hit which one works best for you. Hopefully, I answered your question.

    The KRANK F11 X that you're using in this video is FULLY CONFORMING! You need to test the KRANK F11 XX or Double X' non-conforming driver if you want to talk about using non-conforming drivers.
    The F11 X is for swing speeds at 105mph and above. The NON CONFORMING version, F11 XX is for swing speeds between 85mph to 105mph. This is on (or was) on the KRANK website.
    Since you're not using the fully conforming version in this video, you're not getting the extra yardage you're looking for until you try the F11 XX, or 'Double X'.

    I know this is a old video but I’ve been doing research on different drivers since I’ve got back into golf in the last 3 yrs. I took a lengthy time of probably 15 yrs until I decided to start playing golf again. I’ll be the first to say yeah I would put a non-conforming driver in my bag. Actually since starting back playing golf I’ve bought a anti-slicing driver. Did it help, yes it did. But after probably 5-6 rds of golf the head broke off the shaft. I even bought one of the Maxvert1 drivers that one of the RUclipsrs said would out drive my current driver and add 20 yards. The driver never lived up to the hype. So I got a refund. But the Krank driver is more believable because the owner I think really is more interested in getting people back into golf to enjoy it more by producing a driver that would add yardage like when the were hitting off the tee back in the beginning of their golf playing. I haven’t bought a Krank driver yet, but in the next month I will. It will probably be the Krank Fire ll xxx driver. My club head speed is around 85. I’m using a Taylormade SLDR driver right now, I do have my slice under control but the distance is still not there where I want it. Plus you have so many days to use this driver before making a decision to keep it or get a refund.

    It's an interesting moral question. The rationalization for using a non-conforming Krank appears to be that it's cheating only if you use it in a USGA-sanctioned event. I'm not sure that's true. It sounds like equivocation, the kind of sophistry politicians use (if my conduct isn't criminal, it must be perfectly okay). If you can convince yourself to use a piece of non-conforming equipment, you know, just for fun, when you're playing with your buddies, then why not use an illegal golf ball? That would add distance to all your clubs! Not a USGA event, so no one can complain, right? But you know better, or should. Rules, including handicaps, exist to level the playing field for everyone. The easiest way to gain some distance off the tee: tee it forward, with a clear conscience.

I was on the range with a new REGULAR FLEX shaft in my used PING G25 DRIVER. The guy next to me was hitting the new Mavrick bu CALLAWAY. EVERY TIME HE HIT THE BALL, IT SOUNDED LIKE A 20 GUAGE SHOTGUN GOING OFF!
      SO, I strike [ no pun intended ] up a conversation with this guy. VERY COOL GUY.
      His SS w DRIVER is 127 mph! I cant see where the ball is landing... BECAUSE THEY ARE ALL GOING OVER THE NET, OUT ABOUT 300 YARDS! NEVER SAW ANYTHING LIKE IT!
      Anyway, I mention I just turned 60 and have NO IDEA WHAT MY DRIVER SS IS. HE BRINGS OVER HIS MEVO AND SMARTPHONE, SETS IT UP AND SAYS USE IT FOR 10 OR 20 MINS! LIKE I SAID, GREAT GUY! Well I started off at 84 mph and I specifically wanted to keep dispersion decent, so I slowly start taking the club closer to parrall to ground from 3/4 swing.
      Slowly I see the SS NUMBERS GET TO 88 AND FINALLY TO 92-94 MPH. I FEEL GOOD, DID NOT HURT MYSELF, FOCUSED ON MORE ROTATION AND HITTING UP ON THE BALL AND DUE TO THIS GUYS GENEROSITY, I NOW HAVE A GOOD BASELINE TO WORK FROM! AS HE PACKS UP, HE MENTIONS HE HAS A GAME THE NEXT DAY W HIS GROUP OF FRIENDS AND WISHES HE HAD A BIT LESS SPIN. SO I TOSS HIM A YELLOW TITLEST AVX AND SAID "GIVE THIS BALL A TRY. YOU WILL HIT IT LOWER AND START TO GET ROLLOUT MUCH QUICKER BECAUSE IT SHOULD HAVE 6-800 LESS BACKSPIN! GIVE IT A COUPLE HOLES AND IF U DON'T LIKE IT, HELL GRAB A YELLOW PRO V1!

    Here’s why no one buying it: if you hit your driver over 115MPH, then the Krank PRO version is perfect, but for us mere mortals (99% of golfers out there), this driver will not work for us. You are then left ONLY with a choice of the other 2 Krank models (the X and the XX), which are NON-CONFORMING, so can’t use them even in local club tournaments and at least in my foursome, no one going to let me win money matches with an illegal driver!
    So that’s the real reason…not going to work for 99% of golfers out there.
