For a full list with purchase links of all the gear I use go to: www.southernreels.com/fishing... In this video I use my sonar to chase down big fish in rough conditions!
That was awesome, those were a couple of huge bull reds. It wore me out just watching you fight them, lol. Keep up the great content, take care and be safe, maybe a pfd?
Quite the opposite actually. I had cruised out with my clients earlier this morning, and after seeing the conditions being so rough I gave them the option to reschedule. They knew I was going back out to target Reds and they were fine with that. They had other options for fishing that day that were much calmer and they took advantage of it! It worked out well for all of us.
Heck yea man those things are fun I wish this wind would quit for us the cobia should start turning on soon then you got a million people out there keep it up man my buddy wants to get his dad out there with you one day I’ll send him your way 👍
@@SouthernReelsFishing I’ll make a video and show it to you this weekend. Gonna try the inshore rigs near Grand Isle as well in perspective mode and see if we can spot trout with it.
There is no way this technology isn't negatively impacting fisheries. I love that this exists, so below average fishermen like myself can feel like rockstars, but this seems like the beginning of the end of our fisheries.
I feel what you are saying, trust me I do. Yet, it's like saying that guns kill people, but the truth is, it is the person holding the gun that matters. The technology is only going to get better, and behind it all it comes down to us. I have always supported catch and release, keep what you can eat fresh if anything. Unfortunately most people dont follow this belief...
Virginia has WAY bigger problems than livescope technology. NC is the same and it's actually my scope that has let me truly understand the fish for the first time. Their true numbers and behaviors. Recreational fishermen are the strongest voice for conservation in both states and the more we know the more we can help. I've sent maps to my local biologists to highlight regional issues in an otherwise extremely healthy trout population.
@@SouthernReelsFishing I'm with you. Also, I think that in general, "us" Live sonar guys actually keep less fish than the "non-scoper's". BTW I like your tether for the pole. I built your design and I'm going to add a tether plus a pin-lock to keep it fixed for stronger currents.
All the pricing and booking information is on southernreels.com Yes kids are allowed, but they need to bring and wear PFD's that are fitted to them for the entire trip
"you like that big sexy mullet don't you". 😄😄😄😄😄
They do love it! Lol

Dude for sure! I have been down there a few times and really enjoyed the popping cork method of catching them!
Beautiful fish! When your clients see this video they will wish they didn't cancel.

If you think this technology is impacting the fisheries then look up omni directional sonar, its basically finding fish in a barrel for big boats.
Honestly I don't think the tech is impacting fisheries at all, it's the people behind the tech that matters...

Quote sad it's came to this
It’s still a lot less than commercial gill netting by a mile.

You need a bigger net.
Rough water by yourself wear a pfd.
Yes I do, but this net is still working. As far as the PFD you are right...
WOW! 2 casts 2 fish. I miss the bay. 🥲🥲🥲
It is a special fishery!
