I often have problems getting snakehead over 30 inches into my net. It sounds crazy but what works for me is releasing the bail then the line doesnt get in the way and they go in the net much easier

Edit to add: the additional disappointing part was also that the “episode” (video) was under 10 minutes. Everything seemed rushed.

Today I caught 6 technically 5 fish reason being 5 is because I caught the same fish twice and the first time the hook went straight trough its eye so I released it and about 5 minutes later I caught the same fish trough THE SAME EYE THIS TIME IT WAS WHITE I MADE A FISH BLIND IN ONE EYE

You need to carry at least 3 different size rod n reels from a ultra light to a medium and then a heavy or even an extra heavy to cover everything you can catch in most rivers and streams. I've made that mistake to much growing up and as I got older the old men started showing me just what I needed to do and was giving me respect which meant more than anything to me. It meant more than a world record fish. I can enjoy catching creek minnow as much as a 60 pound fish. I've caught lots of catfish and strippers that easily went over the 40 pound size and it wasn't because I used a ultra light, but my best largemouth was caught on a spinner fly that I was using to go after small bluegill. The bass was between 11 lb 10oz and 12lb 7oz the scales kept bouncing between those lower and upper numbers so I just tell people who ask the weight I tell them almost 12 pounds. I still don't know how I beat the fish because I was using 6lb mono on a 5 foot Ul rod and the line got shredded and the lure was destroyed by the fish and all the snags in the area. I got a nice striped bass that was 47 pounds that killed my hand and the 12 pound mono line that cut my fingers nearly off before I could get the ins out of the wounds that was created. That fish had gotten the line wrapped around some snags that made me drop my drag to around a half pound and had to hand drag the line off as it ran. That is why I carry at least 3 rod n reels because I can tie a small hook on heavy line, but I know I can't out power a fish that can run with no chance of slowing them down.

I'm glad you kept the Silver carp for bait, I was worried you would release him for a second. The less of those invasive things that are around, the better.
That longnose looks almost the same size as my personal best. They are such great fighters love catching them.

Pretty hard to actually get a single hook in a gar. They almost always spit it in my experience. 😂 I prefer that to unhooking them
Biggest spillway largemouth bass and biggest long nose gar but no weights for either. Did you forget your scale or too busy catching fish?
