Can we take a second to appreciate how good he casts. He makes it look so easy lobbing that thing so far. Also, this video is so deserving of 10mil views. Super good quality video
@@cottagecheese2483 Check out his gear in the description. He's using a rod that is over a foot longer than a normal bass fishing rod. The first time I used a 6ft (only 6in longer than normal) rod it felt like I had discovered the secret to throwing the perfect cast. That combined with the weight of such a huge lure makes it easy for anyone to throw awe inspiring casts. But still, I agree he does have some impressive casting skills.
I enjoyed carp fishing for over a 3 decades, but i have to say...nothing beats seeing a predator going for that lure. Makes me want to go out fishing right this moment.

You have to applaud the overall skill on display here. Not only is he a tremendously fluid and accurate caster with every lure type I've seen him use, but his hook-set reaction is snappy, his demeanor calm, and his fish-fighting skill on point, but he ALSO quite often has to adjust the kayak's direction mid-fight. This is not an easy thing to do. It requires coordination, focus and dexterity. Check it out at 7:35. Great cast, hook set, and fight. The size/power of the fish easily pulls him down stream toward hanging tree branches. He has to keep the fish pinned and maneuver the yak out of the tree path which usually means trapping one side of the paddle under the rod arm while changing direction with the other. This is not the only video where this happens, and occasionally you'll seem him back paddle because the momentum is working against him. A lot of talent on display here 👏🏻. My favorite yak angler on YT. Bravo.

One of my favorite lure in france for pike, Bass and catfish ( "Silure" in french , over 2 meters..) and one of my favorite vidéos !
well done Mat , it's again a big pleasure , i love your channel !!!
tank's a lot !!
this man is shaking from those sick adrenilin moments
the intro with the pike was amazing the most satisfying thing that could happen in fishing
"He's not happy." Because it's the fourth time he fell for that lure...
That was not the same pike. Notice, the first one had a weird eye
MatrixWarrior98 and even the teeth were different on a few
@@MatrixWarrior98 It was a joke manj, dayum.
like fishing but don't have this, like a hook without bait www.grailed.com/listings/19542015
Ducky so yummy CHOMP CHOMP 😵
RUclips fishing channels are better than any cable television today.
Change My Mind.
Love the fact you’re just uploading you fishing. Not fishing for subs. For that you got my sub
Best fishing channel on RUclips. Never quit!
Some beautiful catches! Major respect to how well you treat whatever you catch.
I used to go fishing with my dad when I was a youngster. We would catch the occasional pike and they were so tasty. Bass was very sweet. Caught some pretty big perch and sunfish. My dad would clean em' and my mom would fry em' up. Fond memories.
Love the pristine scenery, amazing setting for such epic fishing
I remember all kind of weird stuff, and this will never fade.
"Yellow is the new lure"
This dude has that one voice that makes you so relaxed 😌
WE ALL KNOW these vids are waaaay too E-P-I-C for this guy to keep working a day job 👏👏👏
He might be Retired from Work.
I could watch this all day long.... those were some awesome catches 👏
That water splashing sound is so nostalgic. Ty for sharing my friend. Great video
OMG. I grew up on pike with my dad and uncle but with live 12" chubs in a slow muddy deep creek no more than 15 wide. They would catch 10-12 a day! This is incredible. I want to be there and do this!!!
"Grew up on pike" You mean to tell me that you actually ATE these things!?.........how do they taste?
Wow the water sounds so satisfying. Also great job on the catch.
Only Matt would have a back lash result in a 40" pike biting a duck lure 5 feet from the kayak.
CZYK Republic snap back.
Tends to happen more often than not, maybe backlashing is key lol.
I consider myself very experienced with baitcasters, and still backlash for no apparent damn reason from time to time. Learned how to undo it pretty fast tho. Usually only happens with lighter tackle.
😂😂yesss
Have you tried switching to braided line like a 40 pound the only time that happens to me with that type of line is if you really try to cast as hard as you can Daiwa eight times braid is silky smooth and so is power pro V2 slick
His voice is so relaxing and I love the noise of his paddles pushing through the water
Wow, there is nothing like top water fishing, I recently got a top water bat and I'm super excited to use it this summer.
Brings back memories, man. Good fishin!!!! Rod and reel seem like a good combo, bait casters rock!!
Well, that was some heart-stopping stuff. I've seen those duck lures on the clearance racks at Cabela's, but I just thought "how weird" and walked on. I wonder if they have any left. Great video.
Same
This videos are so relaxing and calm, thank you brother for this videos. I suffer from Anxiety at my 40s and videos like this help a lot.
Take it easy 🙏
Probably the best intro of all time. I remember that exact thing happened but with a frog and man.. your heart gets pumpin quick
I bagged myself an 11lb pike this weekend up by Prairie du Chien in the Wisconsin river. It was great!
Gettin lake pike in Onondaga lake NY
Do either of you guy's kayak fish? I'm in Wisconsin and just purchased a hobie compass last week
T-Nasty I don’t. Sorry. I reside further south on the Mississippi. I just have a mate with a boat up there, and go with him when ever I can.
I use a similar lure for musky. I’ve never caught a musky… but I’m always surprised that bass strike it. WTF bass? Leave the ducklings alone!
Didn't expect to see you here. Big fan of your videos
@@zer0deltav367 I love fishing, and I think live bait is unsportsmanlike. It’s easy to trick a fish into thinking food is food…
Why is this my last name-
They don’t think it’s a ducking, just something small in distress on the surface. Could be a fish, baby duck, etc. that’s why bass love buzz baits.
@@BobGymlan true it’s especially easy to trick sun fish 🐠 lol
Grew up in Minnesota. Never fished with a duck lure. Good stuff.
Long time viewer but never post anything but I feel I need to pay it forward. Your videos are some of the most calming videos I constantly e hoy watching over and over. There was a question on Reddit about RUclips channel people enjoy. This was what I wrote about yours- NDYakAngler, he fishes from a paddle kayak. The sound of his paddles swooshing the water, the calmness in his voice as he takes me along with him, the way he hunts for the fish, the solitude he is able to share is something else. I use his video as a lullaby and a nice morning cup of coffee.
This guy is just the perfect fisherman just always seems calm and uses great technique.
Calm coz has no feelings and no sense of empathy for fish?
@@LEEOC " no sense of empathy for fish?" lol did you see how he handled them?
@@Rick-dzm would u liked to be gently pulled underwater by a hook?
One of the BEST fishing videos I have ever seen. Top 5 at least.
This is seriously one of the coolest fishing moments I have ever seen!

Dude talking about his fishing gear the same way people talk about their load outs in video games. Idk why but its just incredibly funny to me.
?????
He'll yeah bro! There's some sick fishing gear you can get.
(Once you get into hardcore angling you'll understand lol)
His voice is so relaxing

First 5 seconds in and i've never seen you before, this guy is a fishing Bob Ross i'm subbing and liking lol
