He's in a less populated area than most of us. There's at least two dudes on every decent spot in all my local waters. Not to say he's not skilled but pressure really matters

I mainly only throw big Swimbaits and your channel is one of very few I watch religiously! Only conventional guy I follow closely! Great job brother!

The rivers you fish in MN/ND are nothing but current the entire time (at least on your footage) & I can see how catching a good one from a distance could take you for a ride! That looks like so much fun! Keep up the great videos as I truly enjoy watching them. So glad we're now in minnow fishing season for smallmouth here in VA!!!! Oh, and I'm super impressed how patient you are on a surface bite! It's so hard not to pull right away on a surface strike & you always have the patience to wait that brief moment before pulling. i watched it all - I'm just going to say my favorite part is @17:03 to @17:04 - That Smallie knocked it out of the water on first try, sent it up a foot in the air and then hit it again when it hit back on the surface, Ha!!!!! That was cool.

He ended up catching a ton of fish too! It’s tough for me to add my friends catches to the video sometimes unless they’re right next to me. If I have to shout across the river at them my audio recordings aren’t useable.

I like the Plopper most of the summer when those fish are really aggressive. Mid September when the water starts to cool is when I’ll start throwing the spook more.
I might have to try a frog on this stretch next summer! I’ve had mixed results frog fishing smallies, a lot of times they’ll just grab the legs but if I picked up the smallest size hollow body frog they’d probably inhale it.
@@ndyakangler or use it with a trailer hook....for example Savage Gear had hollow frogs, hollow ducks, with a special trailer hook that could go over weeds, and catch a few more fish.
I have yet to watch a RUclipsr that consistently catches the quality of fish you do per video. It’s quite remarkable
Can't agree more. The shear number of quality fish at times is nothing short of staggering.
Helps to be near rivers that hold great numbers of fine species of fish & he knows where they all are . Wish we had it this good in MD but we don't.

I love a spook but with the small amount of experience I've had with the plopper....the strikes are just different. Crushed

With the amount of weeds and wood, I'm surprised you don't throw a small walking frog for those areas and throw the spook in the open water.
