Hello. I would like to purchase a casting net to catch my own bait off of piers in the san Francisco area does anyone know is this legal to do, thanks.
I just went to this Crystal Pier this past weekend. There sure are a lot of species there. I caught my very first halibut that day, although it was a baby the size of a hand palm. I used go to this pier a lot more often with my friend. One day he caught a Black Seabass, which was a once in a lifetime experience. He of course threw it back in the water, but that goes to show you there are an abundance of different species there and big ones too.
Crystal Pier has produced an abundance of Sargo, Spot Fin Croakers , Barred Surf Perch, Yellow Fin croakers, and Corbinas for me this year fishing at this pier. All fishing caught are blessings from God.
Subscribed! Great video. Haven`t been there in many decades but have some great memories. Also some HUGE bat rays were hooked there and landed on the beach (team effort). Thanks for the vid, really well done!
Grew up in PB . In high school back in the 70's caught croaker, jack smelt, halibut, sheephead, and white sea bass. Never heard of the yellowtail, but i did see a yellowtail follow my jig up to the boat in LJ kelp beds once.
No license is required to fish Crystal Pier. List of other California public piers that don't require a license: www.pierfishing.com/msgboard/index.php?threads/the-official-california-fish-wildlife-dept-list-of-public-piers-and-jetties---no-fishing-license-required.2508/
The video already corrected that glitch before we released it. Not tripping, just made a verbal mistake and it's easy to do when filming (and we only make one version).
Really like the information about different piers & bait to use! Someday; I hope to meet you. Thanks
Hey I was wondering you guys can catch threshers off that pier
Subscribed! What your setup are you going with when trying to catch yellowtail at crystal pier?
What’s a rig to get a yellowtail

My grandfather took me fishing on Crystal Pier for my first fishing experience in 1974. Very sentimental place for me.
I used to read your articles on pier fishing in California! Great to see you in person. Keep on fishing, sir!
I learned more from you than these influencers.
