Im trying to learn about DECA and join next year (freshman hs). Is the girl on the right the judge and is in the role of a junior in hs, and the girl on the left is giving information based on the information she was given, for example the Junior wants to know the best college saving plan? I don't understand DECA too much yet like what are Role Plays so any information can help
yes, the girl on the right is the judge, and the left is the competitor. when you join deca you will choose a topic you want to do your role plays in and compete in for the year. she is probably in some sort of finance topic.
for role plays: you receive a sheet of paper that tells you a situation that you need to basically “act out”. you have about 10 minutes to prepare (depending on topic and competition; districts i believe you have 15 minutes). after you plan out the role play based on the info from the sheet, you have 10 mins (max) to present to your judge (you don’t have to reach 10 min mark) and when you’re done speaking, the judge will ask you questions that you have to answer.
