This was filmed in Dimash's home studio during covid. He sang SOS in Japan at an earlier Toyoko Jazz Festival and was met at the airport by the usual horde of Dears . You should watch his airport arrival in NYC before his 2019 concert, which I was lucky enough to attend. Dimash live is beyond description. He has so much stage presence and charisma along with the great singing talent.

He is without question the best singer we have today.. even back to all of antiquity. Every song he sings conjures up moments in our past that have given us grace.. or shame.. but belonging to us as personal and private. This song is sooo beautiful❤️. And he performed it with so much emotions. You literally can feel his pain😪. His first song in Japanese. He has been invited to perform at the Tokyo Jazz Festival in 2021. But he couldn't go to Japan because of Covid. So he had to sing it from the studio in China. There he took part in the show Shine! Super Brothers. I’m not sure but I think it was his studio in China. But I do know he got a studio as a gift for his birthday.
If the Japanese reactors are to be believed, Dimash sang in perfect Japanese. Some also claimed that it was better Japanese than many Japanese themselves😅.

Well some people just have hate and jealousy in their heart, probably they haven't succeeded in life and don't wish anyone else too either. I can understand if Dimash is not someone's cup of tea but to deny his talent I don't think I can understand that.

For the first time in 1989, the song "IKANAIDE" (Chinese version - "Autumn Strong") was performed by the famous Japanese singer and composer Koji Tamaki. The plot is based on the complex true story of the famous Chinese actress, Japanese by nationality Yoshiro Yamagushi. Koji Tamaki and lyricist Goro Matsui praised this performance, tweeting that it was the best performance of a song by a foreigner in Japanese. Great reaction! I remember one comment on a song reaction of Dimash a few years ago, " Even his breath has notes!" (This was his first time singing in Japanese--the original lyricist heaped praise on Dimash's interpretation.) You can hear a different Chinese version of the song when Dimash stunned the audience at The Singer in 2017. I think Gloria Wu (G.Wu) has this performance and the story behind AUTUMN STRONG on her YT channel.

This version "Ikanaide" (行かないで) ) is the original, from 1989, composed by Koji Tamaki (famous Japanese singer, born in 1958) with lyrics by Goro Matsui. The version "Autumn Strong" (Late Autumn), sung in Chinese, uses the same song, but has another lyrics (Yaqui Cheung, from 1993) and another theme: It talks about the Japanese actress Yoshiko Yamagushi, very dear to the Chinese, who was deported when they discovered her Japanese origin (his real name was Li Xiang Lan and we're talking about World War II, where Japan was China's enemy) and never returned to China. In the original version, the lyrics are more intimate, sentimental and more recognized worldwide. It means: "Please don't go!". I also watched a Japanese reactor comment that the 🇯🇵 language is usually pronounced wrong with a hard consonant sound of most western speakers. He said that it’s different and should be weaker to get it right. He was so impressed with Dimash getting the enunciation correct ❤️🇯🇵
