A year ago certain people kept mentioning Lucy Thomas. I finally checked her out and everything I found was pitch corrected. A bit later I found one video that was not pitch corrected but I forget what it was, but it proved she was an excellent singer and didn't need pitch correction. Just now I found the one below from when she was younger, a live performance on a TV show, that was not pitch corrected. But everything on her channel, including this video, Don't Walk Away, and her official video of her Manchester concert, for example Hallelujah, although it sounds terrific and fooled me when I was just listening to it, when I check it with Vocal Pitch Monitor, it is pitch corrected. That's why I can't get behind her, because she chooses to do that. In my opinion it's in a reflection of her lack of integrity as an artist. I don't care that it's a so-called industry standard, she doesn't have to do it. The other day I just happened to come upon two channels, one of which was a radio station channel, I think in the Minneapolis/Saint Paul area, and another channel from the Boston area, that featured local talent and young indie talent, and none of them were pitch corrected. In fact the Boston based channel stated that their purpose was to produce videos like NPR Tiiny Desk concerts. Here's the one I found from Lucy that's not pitch corrected. (PS the issue of Lucy Thomas being pitch corrected has been looked at extensively by a couple of channels that specialize or previously specialized in that--that's how I found the one below on one of those channels that looked at quite a few few of her videos). Reposted comment with updated information: I just checked this performance in Vocal Pitch Monitor and Stone Cold is completely pitch corrected everywhere, especially the runs, which are pinpoint jumps to the pitch lines. They managed to, I assume, let her tone come through. However I didn't notice the second song at first, and when I checked that, it does *not* look pitch corrected, so that's more like what she sounds like. I think in the last few years there were some videos that she put out herself that were not pitch corrected, and then she went through a brief period of pitch correcting them and I think she's back to live performances that are not pitch corrected, especially recently.

Aaron, so excited for your to hear the LIVE, the official is worth a visit. The video is visually orgasmic. It's boppier and so lush. Very Clue moviesk. CHINCHILLA is a force of nature. She's a queen. Put the CAPS LOCK on for the Queen. When there is a live, please also so the studio/official because they are WORTH the effort/time. Such a wonderful artist, Ren's soul sibling and such an artist in her own MF right. She's so AMAZING.

So a live version, one of 18 songs that for the most part were absolutely amazing, wasn’t on par with a studio version where talent was brought in to record one track…. Meanwhile, while “her level” is definitely in the stratosphere, she hasn’t built a following or been selling out Arenas that would justify bringing on musicians that are all Grammy winners. Hopefully these younger band members will help bring more fans that don’t all have gray hair, or in the case of some reactors, at least have some hair of any color. I just feel negative comments may not be the best thing for growing AJ’s fan base. Are you going to help pay for a team, or teams as you suggest. What Angelina needs right now is to get television late night air time, and Feb 14 is right around the corner. Sorry if this seems like more of a rant, but it’s nothing compared to your reaction about this one “seasonal” song she added to a Christmas Album set.

Check her out on America's got talent all stars from 2023 ! She's 16 and WOW , what a voice !

She is always such a cutie and spot on perfect ...but in a way maybe too perfect!, as she grows older !!!

All of her performances on the Voice were amazing, thus she won, then in 2020 at age 13 she was a finalist on AGT, where she performed 6 songs, all way beyond her years, now at 18 is a singer songwriter currently living in LA. Without hesitation she has gotten better and better with time. I think she has the best voice of all active singers now, male or female. She's multi talented, can sing any genre. If you want to be wowed check out any of the live performances on her channel. She's was also on CBS the World's Best, in junior eurovision, I could go on. Fast forward to her original "Memories " or check out "Not Your War" from the Voice of Peace concert. Like me you will be hooked❤

Daneliya is now 18 and will be 19 in July! She also raps under the name Da Nel. She was also on America's Got Talent and had great performances. It' was fun following her from age 10 and having the same kind of excitement when she got to America's Got Talent in much the same way as following Angelina from a young age. She was also on that terrible CBS show The World's Best! Dimash was a contestant on the show and was told he would not have to compete against children. It is Kasack tradition and they do not do this. After a few performances Dimash saw Daneliya backstage. They know each other from Kazakhstan (Qazakhstan) and have performed together. That is why Dimash ended up quitting the show he would have won. He was treated horribly for quitting and I believe it was mostly Rupaul? You have to see the show. for yourself but it is mostly a taboo subject for Dimash fans!

One hundred percent agree. It feels like a turning point for Angelina, which path is she going to take? Lets hope it's the one she truly deserves, the heady route that takes her to the top. Hang around at the junction too long and public attention will turn elsewhere.

U should watch and react to her whole journey on the Voice Kids Ukraine, which she won, then progress towards to some of her covers she has on her RUclips page. She is currently 18 and 1/2 years old. Now living in the USA and trying to get big. She has now put out about 5 or 6 originals in the last 15 months. Back in November 2024 she has a small Concert in Seattle, Washington. She is my favorite female singer with Angelina Jordan being a close second.

I don't how much Angelina is watching reactions on RUclips, so I have always been careful with what I say, being a LONG time supporter of her. But here's the thing... I haven't enjoyed this band at all; I think they are lacking a lot of skills. There ARE exceptions, but it should have been the other way around. IF she could have found a band like the one she has been playing with here in Norway, it would have been a completely different ballpark. But given time, there is a chance that they will fuse together, though I am a bit doubtful. Sad to feel this way, but I am 🥺

Thank you A-Aron that was a very insightful reaction and show a deep caring for our Angelina, I listened to the studio version and agree with your assessment with the drummer but this was a single source video and audio from a cell phone, I will wait for James to put out in December a multiple source video of this song to get better audio quality to judge this one fully. I also want to point out in your description section, the original video link is NOT "Driving Home For Christmas".

Yeah, I agree she played with some amazing bands in Norway and always rises to the occasion. I love this song, though, and when she uses this tone It's magic.

In defense of the band I think the keys and pads were mixed a little low in this live performance. In the studio version you can clearly hear a lot of wonderful piano riffs and some tasty muted guitar licks which added to the bouncy floating nostalgia of the song. There were a lot of layers in the backing track. In this live performance they were not there and the keys could be only heard in the intro. Perhaps they couldn't add those because of copyright reasons with Republic or they just chose to strip it back to just the live instruments. I heard it live and thoroughly enjoyed this performance. This recording didn't do this song justice. Even my own recordings sounded better That being said I agree that we all long for the days when Angelina shares the stage with other world class musicians. I think this band is solid however and helped Angelina put on a great show throughout the evening.❤

I couldn't agree more. Apart from Jimmy Z, the other musicians weren't up to scratch, but two comments: firstly, this has rarely happened up to now, as AJ has always sung surrounded by great performers, and secondly, the problem may also be due to the recording, which makes the orchestra sound distant. But there's no denying that the studio version of this song is light years ahead of this live version.

Well said Aaron.I remember someone reporting a few years back that AJ's band back in Norway felt that soon they couldn't keep performing with her because her level was getting beyond their own abilities to match her.

HI A-Aron, first, I'm not a musician, so I don't have the ear for the details as you do. However, regarding this transition, where you were especially pointing out the drummer just going on, have a listen to the released studio track at about 2 minutes in: Because regarding the drums, it's just the same there. What is different is, that Angelina on the track again repeats the line "just the same", before the sax is than taking of again, while here she is only humming a bit. So that part on the track is still a relaxed continuation of the section before, and does not need to have that much of a change at that point. And there is a rehearsal clip (I'll try to give the link in a reply to this comment), that I think starts with this part, where we can hear, that there she also repeats that line "just the same". Now, Angelina doesn't sing "(he's) just the same" there at all at the concert, and also not the prior phrase "Take a look at the driver next to me" . Instead she first repeats "It's take some time, but I'll get there" instead, and just hums during the "transition". So I guess Angelina did forget the lyrics there, and the drummer was not aware of what she would be doing there, so he just continued as rehearsed as she needed to recover.

I referred this performance simply because you were reviewing another artist's performance of it at the time, but it doesn't showcase her total ability. She's actually the most dynamic singer. By the way, her nickname is the Fearless Diva, so that should tell you something. She was good when she was younger and she's good now. She has incredible range; she can reach whistle range in head voice, and also she can sing fairly low. She's the only singer that regularly gives me goosebumps, and it's when she sings sort of softly and then suddenly burst out in elevated volume and pitch that usually does it. You can be one of the greatest singer's but if the band are not at her level then your letting her down and the fan down she deserves the best musicians around her
