The Warning are such talented, hard-working musicians. And they bring a VIBE that's unmatched.
The Crazy thing is they are still getting better and better!
They have been blessed with the most supportive family network, and many of their early teachers and mentors are still in their extended family. Ale's bass teacher, Pablo Gonzalez, gave them the assignment to each write a song and helped them learn composition. Their manager, Rudy Joffrey, who was initially hired to help them manage their social media, stuck around to this day and is totally dedicated to them, one of the best managers in the business. And their fans could see early on that they were not only talented but also the nicest, most humble young ladies anywhere and supported them at every turn. They've returned this by treating their fans and supporters like family. So, yes, all of this goes a long way to explain why their fans are so loyal. They have had incredible support over the years, and they deserve all the success in the world. Thanks A-Aron.
There were two reasons for Dany to sing lead. First, she has the widest vocal range of the sisters as well as her voice being able to cut through the mix (which Pau’s voice does not always do). Second, Pau plays her drums with such ferocity, that there is no way for her to sing every song in a set. She has said she is good for 4 to 5 songs maximum per set. She throws everything into getting her sound on the kit, and it just isn’t possible for her to sing at an acceptable level because of that. She has a full body drumming style.
To have 3 sisters who are musical prodigies is truly rare.
The concert shown right around nine minutes into the video was actually staged to provide evidence of their playing abilities. It was a free concert at the school (Liceo) they attended. When The Warning appeared on the Ellen Degeneres TV show they were given $10,000 checks to pay for classes at the Berklee School of Music. This was to be a 5-week summer session geared toward more advanced young musicians. However, only Dany met the age requirement (15 and above). Pau was 13 and Ale was 10. A concert was arranged and help was provided by Victoria Records to record the event. Paulina's performance of Everlong (Foo Fighters) and Alejandra on Hysteria (Muse) were chosen and sent to Berklee, and waivers were granted based on that.
The Villarreal Sisters (Dany, Pau & Ale) from Monterrey, Mexico - some highlights:
2006 Dany & Pau attended a Summer Music Camp. Parents asked if they would like piano lessons, “YES”…thus began their music journey! Ale eventually caught up with her older sisters.
2008 Parents brought the video game “Rock Band” which influenced their love for Rock Music and started their journey:
2008-2009 Learned their instruments of choice; lessons, practice…practice…practice!
2010-2012 Started playing as a band and performing for friends, family and local events.
2013 The birth of “The Warning” Dany (Daniela) guitar/lead vocals, Pau (Paulina) drums/lead vocals/backup vocals and Ale (Alejandra) bass guitar/backup vocals
2014 Recorded a cover of Enter Sandman for their grandparents (file too large to send) posted the video on RUclips...went viral and caught the attention of Kirk Hammett (lead guitarist of Metallica) who offered particular praise for Paulina, saying, "The drummer kicks maximum ass!" and Rolling Stones Mag and Rock fans worldwide.
2015 Guest on the Ellen DeGeneres Show performed Crazy Train - Ozzy Osbourne on the show. Target gifted 10K each so they can attend the Berklee School of Music in Boston.
2015 Attended Berklee College of Music - Boston (5 week summer course)
2016 1st TEDx appearance (2 originals and a Foo Fighters cover)
2017 2nd TEDx appearance (3 originals songs)
2020 Signed with LAVA Records - 1st Mexican band to sign with an American Label.
2021 Asked to do Enter Sandman with Alessia Cara for Metallica's Blacklist Album commemorating the 30th anniversary of The Black Album.
2020-2022 Tour canceled due to Covid. Focused on their new album "Error"
2022-2023 Started touring North & South America, Japan & Europe (240+ tour dates). Opened for Muse, Halestorm, Gun n' Roses, The Killers, Foo Fighters and many more...

2023 Paulina was voted number one by readers of Modern Drummer in the "Up and Coming" category.

Generational talents!
Lunario (Nov. 25, 2018), their first "big" show, is a hidden jewel for those who have not being following this trio for long. You have to remember that Dany was 18 (almost 2 months short for 19), Pau was 16 (also a little more than 2 months short for 17) and Ale was 13 (a few weeks short for 14). So, you have a teenage band playing her first big concert and killing it. With some mistakes here and there, sure, but executing a incredible raw passionate rock and putting it all down for the best spectacle possible. I often go back and watch it full and I honestly think it will ever be in the top 5 of their everlife time as band, not only because how good it was, but because how much meaning it had for their careers. I highly recommend it if you have not watched it yet. Cheers.

These women and their family have always put the music first. Their "managers" are Mom and Dad, and Rudy, who came in from the outside and instantly became family. They have a supportive family and a rabid fan base who will promote them everywhere. You said so many times you hadn't heard that song. We have, and want to share it with you.
Oddly, TWA are the Kool Aid kids they often sing about.

The Spanish song you didn't recognize was "Narcisista". It was their first song in Spanish and was in direct response to hate they were getting from the Mexican music media for writing and singing in English. My favorite performance of the song was it's debut at Foro Didi because of the passion and anger in the performance but the sound quality and production of the Teatro Metropolitan performance is better (and a lot of people like it because Pau gets out from behind her kit to sing).
I much prefer Foro Didi. Especially the big screen behind the stage with all the lyrics showing so no one could miss what they are saying.
I also feel the performance has more attitude.
I just wish they would put it on an album.
It is their only original song to not be on an EP/LP.

The people online have contributed a lot to help them also thru crowd funding a and patron and other ways.
Ale is like a water level marker on a canal who everyone looks at to gauge where they were in these older videos
It is always great seeing these evolution videos of The Warning. One of the many blessings of The Warning, that has nothing to do with music, is that we have all this video of the girls and we can trace their development and career. This is like being in the middle of a movie as it happens.
Dany has always been the lead, lead singer! Pau does sing lead on several songs! Ale will sing lead in the event that Dany has voice issues!
I’d say Pau sings lead or co-lead on more than several songs. I’d say it’s closer to maybe 15-20% of their songs.

In the words of her own sisters, Ale is the most naturally gifted musician of the three. Pau says she is the best piano player of the group….when she practices. She seems to pick things up quicker than her sisters, and that may lead to her not practicing as much (my own speculation there). Ale has been chided a bit by Dany about singing. I have heard Ale lament not having the strongest of voices and how she lacks confidence, to which Dany says “ because you don’t work on it enough”. I in no way think Ale is slacking, or not as into the band, but I do wonder if her natural gifts mean she is not as maniacal in her practice habits as the other two. I have also heard Ale lament that their busy schedule has prevented her from practicing her bass as much as she would like, and that she feels some of her chops have suffered for that.
You can see their dedication paying of from year to year in this compilation. To see how far they have come, is a true testament to their work ethic and desire.
Sooo much blood, sweat and tears, but how much fun have the girls had in that basement over the years?
It's so awesome to see them on the main stage now.

In the clip where they are playing the Rock Band game, they are playing THEIR song, Survive. Their original song Free Falling was published as part of Rock Band 4 and Survive was part of the Rivals DLC for Rock Band. The band that started rocking to Rock Band at a young age came full circle and was included in the franchise’s games within a very short handful of years. I believe Dany was 15 at the time (Pau 13 and Ale 11)

I think Dany just loves to sing, and had more of a rock voice compared to Pau (especially early on when Pau sounded like a chipmunk), which is why she became the principal vocalist on most songs. However when it comes to emotional ballads, it’s hard to beat Pau. 👍😎
Dany lives to sing and perform. You can really see it in her midnight performances.
She's all in on every performance no matter where or when.

They can all sing but I think Pau has the edge with more emotion, a little softer but with powerful darker tone. If you watch their live concert at the Pepsi Center October 2023, Pau takes lead doing solo's on the piano with 'Black Holes' and her first live performance of 'Breathe" both very emotional.
A-Aron, PLEASE: you will not regret it: buy The Warning's latest album "Keep Me Fed". I'm 60 and love hard rock. All 12 songs on this album are GREAT! And the best songs, IMO, are the last few tracks.

That early video of them playing Resistance by Muse, where Dani is playing the piano, is an absolutely beautiful song.
I've listened to it over and over and it's remarkable.
If you pay close attention to Ale, she starts with a pick, then quickly throws it on the ground when the first chorus comes, to play with her fingers.
Then, she quickly grabs another pick near the end of her bass for the second verse, then drops it again for the second chorus.
Now, at first that doesn't sound overly impressive. But when you factor in her age (I think she was about 10 then), AND the fact she's singing while doing all that, at least I find it extremely impressive.
