The Wacken 2013 performance was a special moment as it was one of Floor Jansen's early appearances with Nightwish. Floor had taken over the position as lead singer after Anette Olzon's departure. During the Wacken performance of "Storytime," Floor demonstrated her impressive vocal range and stage presence. Her version differs from Anette's original mainly through her more powerful, operatic vocal style. While maintaining the basic melody, she brought her own interpretation to the song. The Wacken 2013 appearance was also significant as it helped Floor gain positive reception from the fans. Her interpretation of "Storytime" and other songs from the Nightwish repertoire convinced many fans and critics, which ultimately led to her permanent position as the band's lead singer.

Great reaction, you really seem to get and appreciate this music. Saw someone here recommend Ayreon - The Day That The World Breaks Down and I really think you should give that a try. As for a Nightwish recommendation I'd be curious to see what you think of Devil & the Deep Dark Ocean live from Buenos Aires.

No wonder you heard Metallica. Tuomas (the composer and the key player) loves Metallica, and is a huge fan.

Since you are a jazz musician, I think you'd find their song "Slow Love, Slow" interesting, the live version at Montreux Jazz Festival is nice. If you react to that one, you'll get a taste of what their second singer Anette sounds like when she's in her element. And I don't mean The Dark Element, the band she was in after Nightwish.

Yeah, I was chasing reactions on Liliac when I found these guys and took a chance on them when I saw they'd covered Phantom of the Opera as a Metal band. That I could not pass up.
And holy crap did they ever put me back in my seat. Tarja and Marko are just absolutely stunning, staggering and off to mars in that interpretation. Best version of Phantom ever recorded was my thought coming away from it. And I stand by that today. I've probably listened to Wacken takes 1000 times in the last year while doing other things. It's fun seeing and hearing people get bowled over by this music and it gives me a chance to hear different things that leap out to me while I'm not concentrating on it. Have to say, bless Jukka and that drum kit. It has such a clean sound and Jukka is just a beast with the sticks. I still marvel at the fact I'd never heard of them before; but, then I'd also never heard of Liliac which led me to them, and to Eskobar and others I'd never heard of. So thanks for the react and for doing what you do. I listened to covers which led me to Liliac and then listened to reactors to find out more about them. It turned out to be a great way to find new artists and so again, thank you. Cheers. RORH

Hi A-Aron Reacts, i love to see your reaction videos of Nightwish. For me they are the best band in the world 😍 I also have another recommendation for you. If you like surprises, then try this masterpiece of our Dutch genius Arjen Anthony Lucassen with 11 awesome singers (I won't spoil who they are, but i think you will recognize some of them 😉): Ayreon - The Day That The World Breaks Down. Here is the link to the video: ruclips.net/video/oFuMKdrzPqU/видео.html
You will be blown away by all the talented musicians and singers! You won't be dissappointed....I PROMISE! Hope to see your reaction to this masterpiece soon and for now....Greetings, stay safe and lots of love from The Netherlands, Martin.

I want this channel to react to a lot of Ayreon for two reasons. 1) Ayreon is amazing. 2) I want him to say A-Aron with more Ayreon reactions

This is our Valkyrie Goddess for you. And you witnessed first hand a "Dutch Windmill" , and to finish you off, The Operatic "Cruise Missile" !!!!
Floor has 3 distinct styles. Head banging(straight forward, then back), hair whip(almost like cracking a bull whip) and the Windmill(continuous 360 degree revolutions). Why Windmill? Well she is Dutch.
Awesome tune , although it is kind of a pop/rockish sound (originally sung by Anette, the second singer of Nightwish), but Floor gave it soooo much POWER !!! Including this "Operatic" part, what was originally done by children's choir because vocal limitations on their second singer (Great singer also, I might add), but Floor has none of that "Limit".
Nightwish lyrics are often a bit interpretive, and not as "straight forward" as many other bands, because Tuomas ( The Metal Mozart Tuomas Holopainen: founder, leader, keyboardist, songwriter and the main composer for Nightwish.) prefers people to put their own interpretations and life experiences into the lyrics. you connect with songs on a personal level when there is something there that relates to things you have gone/are going through, and you may even find new connections later on in life when you have gone through other big events/emotions. there might be songs you are quite indifferent about (oh, nice song) and then you go through something big and all of a sudden it makes you break down in tears because now you relate to something in the lyrics you didn't before, and see it from a whole new perspective. imagination and life experiences are powerful, and Tuomas has great appreciation of this.

As a Jazz musician: take a look to Floor and slow love slow: ruclips.net/video/Ol9VbuKKZ5U/видео.html, there is also a Montreux version with Anette (second singer).

This song was originally performed by the second singer Anette for the Nightwish film Imaginaerum. She sounds okay in the studio but generally was poor singing live plus in this song she couldn't sing the classic middle section at all. Her fans will usually suggest her singing Slow Love Slow as it's very different to the usual Nightwish music and is slow jazz.
