I interpret his lyrics as his stance of an independent artist against the show biz. He wants to be himself and control all the aspects of his life himself. This line of thinking can be traced back to his other songs like Zhalyn, Fly Away, WIGY, Be With Me, and others.

You definitely haven't seen much of Dimash yet, he's got a lot of pop songs in his arsenal.
He's a chameleon, he knows exactly what appeals to each market. His choreography in concerts in China was always seductive and sensual.
He's always said that he's not a dancer but his dance moves are clearly improving and it's not easy for someone of his height to be a good dancer, I'm a former dancer myself and from watching his very early days he's come a long way for someone who clearly doesn't enjoy dancing.

And yes, he once said in an interview he doesn't master dance moves very fast. He is no dancer but he is going to be better.
This video is very sensual and sexy🥵. We first heard this song at his concert in Hong Kong on December 23, 2023. And the official music video is coming soon. But we Dears can be very impatient, so we're glad he released this performance video. I love this site from Dimash. He's not a boy anymore. He's a man now and he shows it. And I think he enjoys it a lot. I really like this side of Dimash, even if some Dears don't see it that way. But can you expect a grown man to always remain the sweet boy and be as innocent as he is no longer? He'll soon be 30 years old for the Gods sake! He experiments, tries out a lot of things and so does his more sensual side. Beautiful.
Another very great video is his latest official music video When I've Got You. Something you have to see.

I’m really looking forward to the MV to Smoke. Maybe the song will be put into the context of a story again. I read that a gangsta tale may be coming our way. I love that Dimash’s MVs are so multilayered: the music, the story, the cultural and historical references… one complementing the other. This is a huge and intelligent work Dimash and his team are doing. Yes, I’m already veeeery excited for the MV. But maybe I have to cool my jets: the Video may be “just” for the joy of it? And that would be absolutely awesome too! 😄❤️

For the video shot ahead of the release of the official music video for this song, it was done well! Let one girl turn around earlier (the other almost fell in front of Dimash))).. This does not spoil the overall impression. And we always liked Dimash, even the clumsiest one! By the way, the official clip has already been released, but do not react, wait for the author to gain well-deserved views!

@PilatesRebecca I think you’re right. They were probably trying to rush this out and there wasn’t a lot of time for rehearsals. They even left in where the dancer fell. Dimash knows he’s not a great dancer but he certainly can dance better if he really wanted to and given the time to rehearse. I thought his dancing to Give Me Your Love at the Moscow concert with the Todes dance group was pretty impressive. But I don’t think improving his dance skills is a top priority for him.

Dimash is playing the dombra, a Kazakh 2 string instrument. We, Dears, know dancing is not his strong suit, but we don't care. He is working on it to become a more dynamic performer. Dimash's undergraduate degree is in Pop and Jazz, so it is not surprising to see this side of him. He said in a recent interview that we have only seen about 35% of what he is capable of. Dimash says he is not a natural dancer but he is working on it. He's somewhat better now than he used to be. He says it is very hard for him to dance and he has to practice a lot to get the steps. He often repeats the same moves he learnt before in other songs (usually the hip thrust MJ moves), as he already has them in body memory, but new dances take him a while. No doubt with determination and hard work he'll improve, and we'll see a better dancer in time. As far as I can tell, dancing is the only thing he's not good at (yet). Actually I think it's kind of nice that he has a weakness in one area! Makes him more human! 😂😂😂

Re his dancing. - part of his chalenge is that he has very long legs, he is 6foot 3 or more. His dancing has come a lllooonnnggg way actually. For your own info might b worth u going bck to his v early videos. For me!! He's Dimash, and all he does is just gr8 from my point of view. Not just his career but in k
Life too, he is the most caring young man, gives of himself and his earnings to those that have huge challenges. He is Kazakh, when the floods hit his country he & his dad was there doing what they could to support them n i dare say his help and his family's would include finances one way or another
His passion is to see the world at peace. Some of his works in that field are outstanding. He is very modest, loving and kind ,and very funny, he can b a real joker with his friends.
Live your very open n honest comments. Just remember as farvas i can zee u do nit yet know much of him. There are sone good early days interview videos around. U may not want to review them, but it deff us worth getting to know him snd not just his singing.
    Cheers, see u again .

Dimash warned us he might surprise us with more things that are more adult. But he keeps it within decent taste. He has always been sensual in nature. As he has matured Dears have been speaking more how hot he is. He's in his prime.
As far as dancing goes he admits it's not easy for him. He knows his talent is in his vocals and not dance. But considering I think he does pretty well. He's got taekwando training which I think helps. He's also quite tall which can make it more awkward. One girl even slipped out of her position and fell. But it's barely noticeable.
Dimash is also influenced by a lot of MJs moves with the toe movement I'm thinking.
Great reaction and enjoyed your commentary. Appreciate your not pausing constantly. Thank you.

i'm glad he's maturing now and accepting his natural sexuality. When I watched the making of the film he did in China (the one that has 'If I Never Breathe Again' in it) he wasn't able to hold or kiss the girl who was playing the character of his wife. He was wooden, scared, shy. He said 'my mother says I mustn't kiss a girl!'. They had to encourage him a lot and do take after take until he loosened up enough to get the scene right. He was 22 years old then. Now I think he needs a wife. Very difficult to manage that right now though as his career in the West could take off at any moment.

For extra night-and-day, react to "Be With Me" to hear him rap. And "Give Me Your Love" (Digital Show 2021 specifically) to see him dance some more, with a girl in a red dress, no less.
Also, "When I've got you" is quite dope 😁
And then go back to the poetic and emotional ones, he has tons of those.
Just make sure to take your time when u get to "The Story of One Sky", he wrote the video script, composed the music, and it took 3 years to bring to life. His most serious and precious work so far. It's a 12 min short film almost.
Maybe do "War and Peace" (2021) first, it's kinda the "first chapter", composed earlier.
    Love your videos.
P.S. 'Smoke' is not the first time dancing, he's done choreos before, more MJ style other times, as he likes him a lot.
Dimash is a pretty tall guy, who's not a huge fan of intricate dancing, so he'll probably never be a great dancer, always gonna be a bit wonky at it, but I think it won't matter too much.
Another thing, in these sexier, cheekier music videos, he doesn't really take himself too seriously, they're done more in tongue-n-cheek spirit, a bit of a tease too, towards the fans who watched him grow up since he was a 20yo kid, pure and serious beyond his years, with a relatively traditional upbringing too.
Some fans would like him to never mature into a man, and sing only poetic and emotional songs.
He wants to explore his creativity in as many styles and genres, and see what he can bring to the table.
And from operatic to Kazakh rap, from romantic to brooding vampire, he hasn't really missed so far.
    I'm pretty happy 😁
