    I think VR is the only place where there's real innovation, these days. The consoles are just incremental improvements talking about ray tracing, fps, etc... nerds. 😁 The amount of fun you can have in VR shooting zombies jumping through the windows of your own home is the real next gen.

      Quest 3 is pretty much a home run and wonderful companion piece to Switch OLED imo. If Q3 had OLED-tier black levels, Quantum dot colour, eye tracking & Foveated Rendering for better game performance and maybe the PSVR2's adaptive triggers it would of been a solid 10 for me. But then the sticker price would of went well beyond a grand CAD. Can't have it all at $649. 9/10 is on the money.

    MetaQuest 3 makes a great complementary VR headset with the PSVR 2. Having both allows the best of console and PCVR gaming. My preference is for the PSVR 2 because of it's ability to play AAA VR games and its plug'n play nature.

      I prefer the Quest 3 for it's unplug and play feature! Haha

    • @NeonPizza80s
      @NeonPizza80s 7 месяцев назад

      I've got both, and the Quest 3 does nearly everything that much better. Going back to the PSVR2 feels pretty rough mainly because it's tethered, has a terribly small sweet spot, i find it very uncomfortable/front heavy around the bridge of my nose(Where's the padding!?), OLED mura can be quite nasty, image is not as sharp or clean, motion isn't as smooth, not a fan of the rings surrounding the controllers, then there's the awful god rays, noticeable glare, Bulky fat front visor, no IPD 'number' based dial and zero VR eco system. I can't believe Sony released a Wired VR headset with Fresnel lenses in 2023....
      PSVR2 desperately needs a revision. No matter how many incredible exclusives it gets, like Resident Evil Villlage & RE4: VR Mode(which I'm currently still playing at the momento'), it's still going to remain a disappointment in sales because it's held back by too many compromises. Sony prioritized OLED & HDR, but unfortunately regular non micro-OLED is not compatible with Pancake lenses, and the high brightness from HDR has a negative impact on motion clarity. Motion blur is the name of the game. Can't have it both ways at this point.
      If Quest 3 had a micro-OLED(Oled black levels + richer vibrant colours), Eye tracking & Foveated Rendering for better game performance and even adaptive triggers, I don't think i'd point out a single flaw other than the fact that it can't match the horse power of a PS5 on it's own. :P But meh, graphics aren't everything!

      The Pancake lenses alone are worth the upgrade. The fact that you can pop the headset on and not have to fiddle and adjust it to get it 'just right' like the PSVR2 is a game changer. Once you dial in your IPD you're set. Plus, you're getting a noticeable sharper/clearer and cleaner image too, and the slim form factor and ring-less controllers just make it feel like a more elegant, freeing legit-VR experience. PSVR2 on the other hand, is starting to feel like a semi-ancient cumbersome mess at this point. :P
      If i could magically connet my Quest 3 wirelessly to my PS5 for PS5 power, while enoying it's exclusives like Resident Evil Village & 4: VR Mode, i'd do it in a heart beat. Q3 does nearly everything better, with the exception of black levels, colour and it's weaker controller haptic/rumble.

      @NeonPizza80s 8 месяцев назад +2

      I'd say, the PSVR2 is definitely without question worth owning just for Resident Evil 4: VR mode & RE: Village. They're both incredible experiences and only available on PSVR2. Plus, you have access to PC VR-tier 3rd party releases like Moss: Book 2 and so much more. Sure, being tethered to a cable really sucks for stand-up VR, and the Sweet spot really stinks, but it's understandable why Sony opted for both.
      Since a 'wireless to PS5' connection at this point would cause image compression and increase latency, plus you can't use a regular OLED display with Pancake lenses. So Sony would of had to opt for LCD+Pancake instead, possibly Quantum Dot-LCD which would have noticeably worse black levels compared to OLED, but improved colours over Q3's basic LCD. Also, using LCD Local Dimming to achieve deeper inky blacks in VR would cause noticeable blooming too. double edged sword scenario. Can't have it all with budget VR sets! :P Micro-OLED is the way to go, but it's expensive and reserved for premium VR headsets like Apple Vision Pro and Meta's upcoming 2025 headset. By 2030, Micro-OLED should be affordable enough for consumer VR, like with Quest 5(or 6) and PSVR3.
      Quest 3 boasts a handful of improvements over PSVR2, but a small handful of trade offs. Both are worth owning. It's just too bad that meta didn't release a Q3 Pro along side with vanilla Q3, with a Micro-OLED display, Foveated Rendering & Eye Tracking for more power, plus Adaptive triggers. Might cost 2x as much as Q3 with the following, but at least they wouldn't be alienating those who are willing to spend more.
      By 2030, if Sony decides to launch PSVR3. It should be almost Glasses/Visor-like, 4K per eye(PS6 will offer 8K), 120d FOV, micro-OLED, a wirless to PS6 connection, Ring-less ergonomic controllers, AR feature, backed up by the power of the PS6, and so much more. 2030 is when VR will start to truly take off imo with VR3 and Quest 5 or 6.

      For me, after about a week in VR I became essentially immune to motion sickness. If you take it slow, if you are careful, I think the majority of people can get out of it. Especially as the tech keep improving.

    • @robbieburns3564
      @robbieburns3564 8 месяцев назад +1

      It simply is something you get used to. Some people are not affected by it from the onset - but I'd wager that most people have some kind of initial VR sickness. It's referred to as "VR legs" for a reason, like "sea legs", your nausea fades the more you are exposed to it. Your brain simply has to get used to this new sensation.

    • @EPN
      @EPN  8 месяцев назад +1

      I have had it on a few occasions. Mostly back in the PSVR1 days. And I’ve just taken the headset off and taken a break and then gone back in a day or so later. I play with all the comfort settings off and as close to full FPS controls as possible so yeah that can get a little intense but the more you play the more comfort you have and the more exhilarating the action gets!
      If you want to play stuff that eases you into VR try the vehicle based experiences first…Star Wars Squadrons, racing games, etc or the games that have you work as the camera for a 3D character (Moss, Lucky’s Tale) before you start walking around in 3D space and then eventually climbing up to rooftops and leaping off of them in Assassin’s Creed Nexus!
