Pete I 0:15 commented on one of your other older videos about my Pro Lite sputtering what I found out was the disposable cup system was the cause when I use my aluminum cup it gives me a steady spray. I sprayed last weekend and used 1.3 an T110 and it’s much faster and far easier to get peel and sags. 1.2 and T110 27-28 PSI seems to lay out the best for me
Hi Mate, It sounds like the disposable cup was not sealing properly, so leaking air. Yeah, I think the 1.2 is optimum for clear coat with the T110, I wanted to try the 1.1 but it's not quite enough, moving closer may well help but there's only so many hours in a day to try these things! Thanks Tim, much appreciated 👍
Hi Boss, they are such a universal gun. With all the tip sizes and different caps, they will do anything. The same needle fits all the tips, something they have kept to with the DV1 series, so it's often not expensive to pick up bits that are new, or nearly new at a good price, you may have to wait a while but they come along, thanks mate 👍
Thanks for another great video. Your customer is going to be very happy with that finish. I’ll have to do some more experimenting with different set up’s. I’ve just been using the 1.2 and has worked for me. Thanks for taking me away from the olympics for a while
Hi Ben, it came out pretty good, but I'm sure the 1.2 is better for clearcoat. Also, the better quality clearcoat makes it much easier, cheers mate, I appreciate it 👍
@@peteshobbies5383 Yeah mate, i think the 1.2 is the optimum setting for ProLite. Yes, clearcoat is important, like you mentioned, cheaper clears are usually harder to flow. Personally, I usually experiment with the percentage of thinner with clear.
Well that answers that question. Thanks for the video pete. By the way ive got that kapci 6030 down to a fine art now, its alot different from the last clear we was using. What ive changed is ive moved to my sata x5500 1.2i and move a bit faster. Was using the pro light with 1.3 and te20 cap before. Anyway just thought id update you as u mentioned youd like to know how i got on.
Hi Mate, Yes, thanks for letting us know, I really rate it considering the price, so I'm glad you got there. It just goes to show how some guns suit different clears, thanks mate, appreciate it 👍
Hi Pete, well that was an interesting experiment as the result you got wasn't what I was expecting but the 1.1 did a great job on both base and clear🤔like you I was thinking that up to a point the smaller tip would allow the aircap to atomise the clear finer giving a better finish but saying that it does make sense that there will be an optimum tip size for each aircap and it seems like the 1.2 is the one for the T110 as again like you I didn't find the 1.3 quite as good🤓 As you know I've been testing the 1.2i tip with the CC aircap on my X5500 and haven't noticed the finish from the clear being any worse for it so I will be trying the 1.3i tip with that cap at some point but I want to finish my testing with the ProXL VHS clear first as I don't want anything else effecting my results🧐😆god I almost sound like I know what I'm doing🫣🙄🤣 Cheers mate👍
Hi John, yeah, it was worth doing. The 1.1 is actually very good for basecoat, so some good came of the testing. I'll keep a look out for the 1.3i CC setup. It'll be interesting to see. Cheers, buddy 👍
Pete, I always assumed 29psi for all caps, but then noted the manual which came with my Prolite says 24psi HV30,35psi TE10 and 26psi TE20. It's funny, 'cos I sprayed a particular HS clear which experieinced painters said to run a few psi high, and I wanted to try out the HV30 cap. So I added 3psi to 29psi and was most disappointed with the cloud of clear. No better than the TE20, but I didn't realise I was running 9psi over recommended!
Hi Ken, I know people do vary their pressures, as you often need to anyway depending on what is going on. I use 29psi on all the caps for clear except the HV30, which is around 25psi, the TE25 I'm still experimenting with, but it's somewhere between the HV30 and the TE10 Basecoat is another thing, I've been using 24 to 25 psi on all the caps, including the HV30. That's what I really like about our little channel, swapping these little bits of information. Thanks as always, mate, much appreciated 👍
Great video as usual Pete! Question…. Are you familiar with the 7E7 Tekna cap? I’ve seen people say it’s exactly the same cap as the later TE20, my old Tekna from 2010-11 (ish) came with the 7E7 and an hvlp cap (which I lost). I’m wondering also if the T110 would work with it, I’m thinking it should… yeah?
Hi mate, I think I was saying in the video that they changed the guns around that time, so I'm really not sure if the newer caps are interchangeable, I think the 7E7 was designed for a lower pressure, 🤔, I think it was on the Tekna Copper as I was talking to someone the other day about the same thing, sorry I can't be more help
@@peteshobbies5383 the 7E7 was designed for lower pressure, 22-26 psi. The whole Tekna/Devilbiss interchangeability thing across the whole range definitely gets confusing. Hi Mate, I've had 3 clones of theses. There's no way they spray as good as the original. They are usable, sure, but all the caps are the same, although marked differently and none are as good as the original

Correct Pete, the split nozzle is from Iwata. On the Walcom Geo the holes are in a kind of arc, I don't remember where I saw they called it a shower split. There is no one who has done a Walcom Geo Review that is at the level of your videos.
