Nice VLOG. Just a quick clarification from an audiologist. The Osia is made by the company called Cochlear, but is NOT a cochlear implant, it’s a bone anchored (osseointegrated) implant. The surgery and devices are different, but the recovery is somewhat similar. Speedy recovery.
So excited for you!!! I just had mine done 13 days ago ^^ Even though the hole experience is slow going and a pain. It will all be worth it once the Osia is finally activated!! Best wishes. ❤😊
Hi! Thanks for these! I just got my osia implant on Monday 🎉 question if you don’t mind, how did you care for your incision ? Did you wash it, what did you use, how long did you wait?
Hey! I've some questions about the daily use of the device. 1. How do you manage the white noise? 2. Do you think the app is useful? In particular for the equalisation tool 3. Do you also hear the annoying noise of the hair moving over the mic? 4. It gives you headache or feel any kind of fatigue? Thank you for any support you can give me!
Hi Makenna, I currently have the BAHA attract (with the magnet) but have been offered the option of having the Osia 2 instead. Bearing in mind how much bigger the implant is, does it make the side of head look or feel really badly mis-shapen? And how are you find it now having Osia compared to BAHA? Thanks for your videos, glad to see you're doing ok.
Hi Makenna 👋👋 I'm looking for post op tips for recovery My husband is having this surgery in a month he is 63 and I can't find anything for tips. Will he need to sleep elevated or lie flat? Anything you can share will be appreciated 😊
I was able to lay flat, but there was one day I was super dizzy and opted to sleep sitting up. But there is no requirement to do either! Just whatever he is most comfortable with!!! I have a few other videos on my channel about these surgeries! I filmed a Q&A in September with some updates! It's on my channel! Do you have any specific questions or requests?? Happy to help!
@MakennaJean Hi Makenna, thanks for getting back to me and I will have a look at your Q&A to see what's there I will get back to you I'm sure the closer we get to Dec 😊
Hey Makenna, thanks so much for vlogging all of this! I am currently considering having an Osia done and had some questions about it. Is there some contact email that I could reach you at to ask some questions?

Hang in strong, it can be rough recovering from surgery. I recently had one and I am always reminded how much I hate that stuff.
Thank you for your videos. I have just had the same surgery and the insight your videos provided was invaluable.
I'm so happy they helped you!!
