Hello, have you changed anything in the cooling of the car? Intercooler to add or not? I have a 525i e39 and I'm thinking of fitting this VF kit for simple road use, no track or drift. If it is enough just to mount the kit with a reprogramming, that would be perfect. Thanks
Great video, wish they would lower the price on these since it cost more then the car is worth nowadays :( But at least this time the price is justifiable since its a well know and reliable bolt-on supercharger.
So far I’m loving it! still working on dialing in the tune, I’m only on my first revision. the car absolutely rips compared to stock .If you have the funds to do so I would say go for it. The quality and reliability of the kit is definitely worth it!
@@brettkrehling8738 Great to hear all is well! Yeah it ain't a cheap mod for sure, but I'm coming from an F80 so I may have to dial up the juice on this thing. So the OTS tune that came with the SC wasn't cutting it? Also, would you say a LSD is a must have with the SC?
@@crujones5319 LSD is my next mod! Not sure that you would need it, but I feel as that the LSD is the only thing ZHP Is missing. I didn’t even bother with the VFs base map. I went straight to a custom tune from Chaos Calibrations. I would highly recommend a tune from him even if you are N/A . That tuner knows the ms45 ecu so well , I wouldn’t trust anybody else.
You replace the OEM intake with one designed for the Supercharger. What happens with the vacuum line from the OEM intake that goes to the fuel filter/ pressure regulator?
Just use the factory f connecter and splice it into the factory vacuum line that’s runs to the factory intake boot, since the factory intake is now gone, you will need a 3/8 to 5/8 male to male adapter that goes to the supercharger intake.
@@brettkrehling8738 Thanks for the quick response. I did not install the super charger; it came with the car. It all started with the car would not past inspection because of the secondary air system. This in turn required changing vacuum lines and I ended up taking off the manifold. I asked the question about the vacuum line to the fuel filter/ pressure regulator because I could not see where it hooked up to. Your response was that “you will need a 3/8 to 5/8 male to male adapter that goes to the supercharger intake.” Want to get this straight: When you are talking about the supercharger intake you are talking about a formed plastic "manifold" the clamps on the inlet of the supercharger and has two plastic nipple connections. One is 5/8” and the other is 1”. In my install the 5/8” goes to a rubber hose and then a brass reducer and connects directly to the Crankcase - Ventilation/oil separator. I wish you could post an image in the reply, or maybe I need to figure it out. You are saying, I need to splice in a 5/8” tee fitting in that 5/8" rubber hose and reduce it down for the vacuum line to the fuel filter/pressure regulator? You can always E-mail at David_S_Tedeschi@yahoo and we can more effectively communicate with images.
How did your belt fit? I found that even when i had the tensioner fully retracted, i still had to lever the belt over it. First drive the belt shredded.
Fit great! If you are having to stretch the belt, then it’s most likely not routed correctly, or it could be the wrong belt. My belt slipped over all the pulleys easy as long as the tensioner is fully retracted.
@@brettkrehling8738 thanks for replying. The belt was definitely routed the right way. The part number on the belt was 6pk2185, sldomyou know what yours is?
Never had it on the dyno, Vf says it will make 340hp on the ZHP stock, I’m running headers and 93 tune so if I had to guess maybe 360? Probably right around 290-300 wheel.
@@brettkrehling8738 Thanks for your reply! Just looking for another system to boost a race car we’re building, since the system I used has been discontinued.
Perfect timing, just started the install in my 325i wagon. Nice post, thanks mate 🤙
how is it now?
Damn, it’s enjoyable to watch this video
Awesome video
That saw got real close to those fingers!!
Nice, time for some relaxing with a beer and watch this video
Need to hear it!
Soon! I’ll make a video as soon as I get a baseline.
Best job without remove a/c system 👍

Great tutorial...just bought one myself. Did you send the ecu for tuning before starting it?

😍😍😍😍
Could you please share the information where you bought the kit?
👍👍
Where can find the brackets for the supercharger
can a mostly stock e46 handle this kit? Or do I need reinforcements and some other stuff.
Where you buy the kit?
Hey dude, nice work! Where do you order this kit? I want to do the same
How much was the kit and from where ?
How much hp is it pushing
Thanks for this, Brett. I just picked up an '04 ZHP 6-sp. sedan and am strongly considering this VF SC setup. How are you liking it so far?
