Hey man, just wanted to say that you’ve been a HUGE help. Thank you for sharing everything! I’m almost done with my turbo build on my 330Ci. I have a ball bearing Precision 6262 turbo. Goal is to make around 400 - 430 whp 93. I’ll be honest, I was a little nervous going into this project just because I’ve never done a build this big before. It was the small things that concerned me the most. Watching your videos, I’m having a great time with this build and it’s been a fun learning experience. The only thing that I’m not liking so far is having to remove the oil pan for the oil return, lol. It is what it is. You’re doing a great deed for the E46 community and I think I speak for everyone when I say that what you’re doing is MUCH appreciated. Keep on killing it my guy 💪🏾

I have disassembled and rebuild my M54 motor out of my 330i that I personally owned for 10 years since it had 110k miles on it, It had 245k on it when it died. When I saw this video it made me comment. Number 1 It died one evening after chain tensioner guides finally broke off because they are made out of plastic and as it harden it crumbles, I pulled hard out of the driveway and the engine sezed. Later When taking the engine apart, I saw almost no crank bearings left, See my videos, especially the cylinder 1 had severe bearing wear. So, boosting a 200k mile M52 or M54 is crazy, honestly speaking you are a day or a week or a chance away from it going out to the junk yard. These are awesome engines but if you start from Mile 1, when its rebuilt completely.
Just depends on the quality of your tune and parts that are controlling your boost. Iv got a year out of stock boosted engines. And I have had customers do the same or get more than a year and they drive harder than me. Especially drifters.
I heard whistling from your exhaust sounding like a high pitched flute. I have your same exact exhaust and had the same issue for two years... took the whole system off half a dozen times, grinded down every fitting and flange and nothing worked. Last week, I took off the muffler, drove the car and heard no whistling. I had an exhaust shop cut off the tip to the back of the muffler where the pipes go from 1-2 out the back, welded on a single tip and the whistling is gone! Seeing that you can weld, this will be no issue for you if you still have the whistling (I barely heard it from the sound of the sick turbo noises). Hope this helps!
I've been wanting to do this to my 2003 330i after I finish ZHP interior and exterior swapping it, how's a moderately boosted (10psi or so) like as a daily? 5 speed, 2.93 rear end. Of course there's more to break and more to watch, but has boosting been semi-quasi reliable?
Great build. I did this in a 318 is low mount turbo. My turbo sits high enough to drain the oil itself. But i still have some smoke isues. Mostly when i come in a stop at trafic lights. What u susgest turbo rebuild ??
I've got a 01 330 that I've been collecting turbo stuff for. Just need the header and wastegate. How much does one usually get for the cats on these cars?
I dont think it was entirely stock tuning wise. The redline on a stock motor was 6500 stock, but in the first launch it looked like it got up to 6600 or 6700 ish. Could just be the inertia of the gauge
Appreciate the build… what’s your diff situation and have you broken any axles? I ask cause im na B30 welded diff and go thru axles but only when I run 18s.
