Doing this set up on a 330CI actually gives more torque and HP than the E46 M3. Also there wouldn't be any lag like a turbo set up. So the actual benefits of doing this to a much less expensive car like the 330 is a great way to get a fun car that you don't have to worry about abusing or losing value due to mileage and wear like you would with the rising value of an E46 M3. I own a E46 M3 and I'm thinking I might just buy a 330I throw on some forced induction (Supercharging is a lot of cash mind you) then weld the diff or put in a LSD blocking kit (Cheapy time) and throw in some inexpensive coil overs and I'd have a really fun missile. Mind you it never goes as cheap as you think in the beginning LOL. Thank you for the great video!
My thoughts exactly! The 330 is a great car and can handle lots of abuse. Now don’t get me wrong, an M3 would be my first choice. In my dream garage I would have my racecar 330 next to a low mileage M3.
I just read beginning beningging. Wtf is wrong with me.
isn't it so that the 330 is also rising in prise atm? atleast in my country e46 330i are raising in price pretty steeply, 2.5 and 2.2 are still a bit cheaper though. ofcourse the m3 is way more expensive
What about a 325ci automatic??
@@henkdenktank3632 yes especially now
I have an 04 330ci. Im no where near financially ready to buy a supercharger. But its dope to see that it doesnt look like a ridiculous amount of work. My dream project in hopefully less than 5 years.
It took a newbie about 10 hours total with a buddy. We were also in no rush. And recording. So took longer than the average person.
Going this supercharger route is better than the turbo since there is minimal lags and plus you don't have to pipe the oil around like you would a turbo. However the kit is expensive as compare to the turbo.
great vid! Very detailed.
Great video 👍🏴
Glad you enjoyed!
Thanks for this video. This is very helpful and encouraging us who wants SC installation. Can you please advise me where I can find an installation guide? I found some but not sure where the throttle body is install, why a long injector is needed, do we need an oil cooler, ECU tuning is mandatory etc.
beautiful E46 man
Thanks!
I'm waiting to do my last emission test then finalize my build with a supercharger ? This is the reason for my inquiry
Hi, great videos :) but I have one question about vacuum lines... where did you plug the smaller hose from stock F connector which goes from fuel regulator/fuel filter ? because you mentioned that is plugged off on the F connector :). Is it a part of left T piece(closer to BOV) or just plugged into manifold nipple ?
thanks for answer :)
I'll subscriber🤘 supercharged BMs all dayy
Thanks! All day for sure.
Its Beemer or DTM f# millennial hipster trash 🤦♂️ more of a fan boy you seem to be
At first I though you were just hating, now I know you're just trolling. or maybe you actually don't know anything. It's Bimmer, not Beemer. Beemers are motorcycles.
Absolutely love this car! And the fact that alot of the build is DIY, I hope you're proud of it as it looks fantastic!!! Any more future plans for it?
I have a 2001 320i daily with the baby M54B22 and have an M54B30 I'll soon be swapping in, in your opinion would Active Autowerke be able to tune the fueling in the ecu for 95-99octane fuel? (I'm based in the UK) also, do you require uprated head studs with the stage 1 or is that only if you're going stage 2?
Thankyou :)
I appreciate it! I really do love this car. Exactly what I wanted out of it. I do have more plans. Things like a custom rear diffuser and a half cage.
I’m not sure what exactly active Autowerke can tune. A quick phone call to then my should be able to clear that up. And no, you don't have to do head studs. the OEM bolts would be just fine, unless you’re planning something huge.
@@TenzaMotorsports A custom diffuser will look brilliant on it 👌I'll have to give them a call closer to the time then, I'm glad I can do the stage 1 without opening the engine :)
I've already reinforced the subframe and polybushed most of the underside in preparation for more power.
If my car can look even half as good as your one then I'll consider it a job well done 👍
Though mine is a gold saloon SE 😂
Did you have to tune your ECU or put any kind of chip on it? Or is it just plug and play? Thank you. Great video and channel
Stock ecu is 100% customizable. Revmatch is who I go through, and it has been so easy and great prices. Boost tunes, launch control, economy tunes. You name it!
Hey not sure how I haven’t found this page yet but I subbed. Anyways I have 2 325ci one about to hit 300k and the other one about to hit 200k would u recommend doing this still? I know the vid is 2 years old but are you still currently running the setup? And can you hear the supercharger at all?
If you can still get the kit, absolutely! I heard active autowerke is not restocking these kits as they sell out.
I had an e46 320i 5mt sedan, I planned on swapping to M54B30'than doing this eventually.
So glad I bought an e46 M3 instead!
It would been more powerful than an M3. but a lot more work than just buying one that’s for sure!
@@TenzaMotorsports M3 is not about the power, it’s a total package. Does you car have the same rear end as an M? I know a lot of guys swap the rear diff, etc. Etc.
Very true. I'm still on stock diff. I ran out of money lol.
@@TenzaMotorsports next mod 🤑
Bout to do this To my 05 325ci
me again, what are u running for a tune? kit come with a tune. nice vid.
Yes, the kit includes a flash tune from active Autowerke.
Hey! If you don’t mind me asking, did you do anything internally to the engine before you put the supercharger on? I just got a e46 325ci that I’d like to build and I was just curious other than preventative maintenance.
No internal upgrades. Just made sure the engine was solid and ready for the added power.
Tenza Motorsports sweet, thanks!
Cant wait to supercharge my M3! Just ordered Forged internals doing a full rebuild on my 82k mile S54!
That’ll be fast! Should put down at least 100hp more than I do. My car is already scary enough with 400 and the weight reduction.
Lemme spank the e46 with my e36 turbo
Love the way he pimped out the car!! I want mine looking like that lol
Looks terrible
car looks great and fast, i dont know about those front fangs tho otherwise A+
What front fangs?
What kind of Ecu tuning did you have to do?
Have u ever thought about using the m50 intake manifold? Do u know if it works with m54 supercharger kits?
I have looked into it, but I found basically no information on it.
Good video, i couldn't see the air intake lol...where is it?
Also -4+5 is 1
It’s down in the bumper right behind the fog light.
-4+9=5
Hey was wondering if you think the x awd drivetrain would be able to support the added power on the 330xi model
Should be able to. I’ve seen people s54 swap the Awd systems and run fine. As long as the transmission is manual. This will shred an automatic
Have you thought of dyno tuning the car to adjust the running rich issue ur having?
My buddy has a super arched roush mustang that he dyno tuned and the tuner made it run very rich, although he was running cool on the supercharger he had some bogging issues in the lower rpm range, I normally work on his cars, I told him to take it back to the shop and ask them to lean it out, the shop wasnt really happy that he was getting outside help but when he did lean it out a bit the bogging went away and his exhaust tips didnt look like a coal mine from all the black soot he was getting.
Car rust strong as hell and he has had no issues take you it's a 2006 and hes pushing 500hp lol on the 4.6l engine its pushed to its max
I looked into doing dyno tuning. There’s really two reasons why I haven’t done it. One reason is that it’s doing much better now with that new pulley. The second reason is no one in my area does BMW tuning. I’ve been too lazy to look around and see where I would need to take it.
@@TenzaMotorsports running any super charger isnt gonna be good on gas anyways lol
Oh believe me, its horrid. My first autocross with the supercharger I got 4.2 MPG. That was like two years ago, I'm sure its worse now with the added power.
Has the supercharger affected the reliability of the car since you’ve installed it? There’s no way you can spin a bearing running one of these? Excellent channel btw! Love the e46 content
The reliability has been unchanged. This kit can't generate enough boost to spin a bearing so it's quite safe. If you go to a bigger super charger or a large turbo you can start to damage the engine.
I'm not looking for Hellcat speed yet but I wouldn't mind being a decent amount faster at least 200Hp - 220Hp more
320-410HP is perfect.
Where do you get these hoods from? Just got my first e46 330ci. It's a cabrio though. Reaaaallly wanna get my hands on one of these hoods
It’s a duraflex hood. Bought through CARid
thinking of supercharging my 330ci, could i drop a list of mods and links to them as far as the engine for me?
Sure!
Unrelated to Supercharger but can you provide a link for the aftermarket headlights or a brand name for them
Are you referring to the headlights on the white car?
Did you stud the head? And if you did what brand did you use?
I have a BMW 325Ci non M3. And I want to Supercharge it. Should I do it? Or no?
This supercharger that you purchased did it come with those injectors you installed and my next question is did that supercharger came with everything for it and how much did it cost all together
It came with everything you need. I got it on sale for 6200
Thanks at first I was thinking the lol 1 but why when I can do a bit more
should i have a go at putting this on my 325i sedan? I have a very well maintained engine now so im not sure if i want to take a gamble on installing somebody else's engine
I would highly recommend a 3.0 swap first.
@@TenzaMotorsports thanks for your help mate
I’m in the process of installing the level 2 kit and that rear brace has been an issue to me. The pictures in the instructions show it going to the top rear bolt but the new bolt and spacer work on the top forward bolt hole on the oil filter housing. I see how it’s angled fwd so I assume you went to the fwd hole with the new bolt and spacer. Using the rear bolt bolt I need to expand the turnbuckle but plan to get a longer bolt and try it with the spacer. I don’t expect to be done for a few weeks due to life and a job but let me know if you have a fix for it.
Very Interesting. Look me up on Instagram @ Tenza_Motorsports and send me some pics of your problem. We should be able to figure it out
I should have watched a minute longer. You used the rear ps reservoir bolt hole! So did you try the other spots?
No I didn't. Some of them are plugged. I think there is only two back there.
Have you considered doing a m50 intake swap? Might be worth a try
I haven't. what would that entail? never even heard of that. I'm open to ideas!
I have not done it . But i have done some research and guys running forced induction usually use the m50 intake manifold. Better air flow and no more disa valve. I do know it requires a adapter plate between engine and manifold also one for throttlebody. Just something to consider if you keep blowing disa valves seals. Could save you some money and pick up some power!
I will look into it more. my Disa only failed when I bought the cheap one, but I would love to get rid of the Disa.
@@chrisleduc7914 i heard that too. would that work on the m54b25? thats what i have and will it throw codes not having the disa? im trying to stay legal
Nice build! Which radiator did you upgrade to? And are you running headers, if so which one?!
I’m running a Mishimoto radiator and eBay headers
Waiting for my mishimoto too! Cool, and did you have fitment issues with the Ebay headers?!
The O2 sensors yes. Everything else worked great!
Did you have to drill your own bung? Do you have smog checks where you at? JW if you run spacers on the o2 to prevent CEL
we did have to to relocate one of the bungs. they don't smog test here. and I had active autowerke tune out the dash light.
What headlight upgrade is recommended for a pre-face lift 330ci (angel eyes & projector led lights) no D2S
Are you looking to replace the whole headlight or just your bulbs?
E46 M3 fuel injectors are not any longer than the 330i injectors so you're probable using something else there.
Also the E46 M3 injectors are not used on supercharged 330i much because they are not much bigger (in performance) than the stock 330i injetors. To be exact, 268cc per min vs 236cc per min at 3bar. The E46 M3 uses a 5bar fuel regulator tho so that makes a bigger difference than the injectors themselves.
ruclips.net/video/i-td_-DMW8w/видео.html
@@TenzaMotorsports I see, these are not E46 M3 injectors. These are some aftermarket Siemens DEKA injectors, they are commonly used. The E46 M3 uses Bosch injectors, they look different, and they are not used on supercharged 330i setups as they are not big enough.
How is your subframe doing or did you have it reinforced already?
I have not reinforced the sub frame. I do keep a close eye on it. I’m hoping to do an lsd soon and that’s when I’ll do the kit.
Where did you get your front bumper? Looking for something similar!
eBay. They used to sell for under $200 with fog lights and everything. Idk what they sell for now.
ruclips.net/video/QS0v5TR7fkQ/видео.html
I don't know how the DISA even still works when you slap a blower on heh
I don't know either, but apparently it does.
Is it perceptible at idle?
How loud is it?
How efficient is it compared to stock?
At idle its not too bad. It's still pretty loud.
While you are driving it is very loud.
ruclips.net/video/rxiIecHQ4po/видео.html
Very efficient compared to stock.
Which supercharger should buy for a 320d
Make more e30 content please
I have a 05 325ci with racing radiator, expansion tank, performance water pump, thermostat housing, lightweight pulls system catless headers and magnaflow catback do you think the supercharger kit will increase my hp more since I have alot of upgrades or just go with a 3.0?
The pulley system will need to be removed. The rest will be supporting mods. It would still be better to do a 3.0
Sounds good but if I'm going to upgrade the engine I'm just going to go all out and do tge m5 engine swap it cost more but way worth it. Thanks man
e46 325i supercharger build soon come
The active autowerke kit is no longer available. Do you have any other suggestions?
At this point. I have no idea.. I don’t have experience with anything else
Your car is a dream man... you think this kit could fit in a 328ci e46?
I appreciate it. I think they still make a kit for the 328. I would encourage you to look into a b30 swap. You can get a 3.0 for around a grand and you should be able to resell your engine for similar price.
@@TenzaMotorsports Ive never think about It! I Will look for one of those, thank you so much !!
Would you recommend this for a 325i? Looking into getting an e46 wagon and it’s so clean and everything I’m looking for I just have to pull the trigger on it, but I definitely will want more pep than the 2.5 puts out. Anyone else have a boosted 2.5?
If you’re gonna do a wagon I would start with a m54b30 swap. you can buy a 3.0 for less than $1k it’s literally a direct swap. That’s worth 30hp and 30ftlbs and maybe a little more with a tune.
Tenza Motorsports Sounds like a good idea. Do you know if the car already has headers on the 2.5 if they will be able to fit onto the 3.0?
Tenza Motorsports Also, massively appreciate you replying even on an older video.
Not sure about the headers. You'd have to do some research to find that out. but the 3.0 swap would be a great first step and give you more potential in the long run.
Tenza Motorsports Ended up getting a 2015 GTI SE 6MT. Absolutely love it. Will definitely join the bimmer fam in a future car purchase. Thank you for the help!
What supporting mods(if any) do you have done for the supercharger. Specifically internal to the engine. Like pistons, rods, head studs?
I have head studs. The rest of my supporting mods are cooling mostly. High flow water pump, Low temperature thermostat, Mishimoto radiator. I straight wired the electric fan so I have full control. Also got the front M3 bumper and removed the AC condenser so I get all the air flow I need.
Sweet, thanks
No problem! if you ever have any questions just let me know.
328i can we do it and what will I need? I want a 335i V8 swap but I don't know where to get one
You’d have to see what options are out there for the 328. I haven’t built one.
Do you think its better to just do a 3.2 swap?
No. This install is easier, cheaper, and more powerful.
Wow........the COST! My HEART! 😂 That's one heck of a price tag.
Yea it’s pretty steep. But if you go through the parts and price them out you get what you pay for. My other option was an s54 swap, which would have cost about the same and the supercharger puts out more power
Right! Extremely NOT worth it. I'm going to put an ls2 in my clean e46 and I'll supercharge that! Guaranteed to gap all other BMWs. Bmw products I swear..
@@TenzaMotorsports you could have done a ls swap.. Seriously. Race me. Lol.
Are you building a track car? I don't do drag races, thats not what I built my car for.
@@Dat550go if you only want to go fast in a straight line buy a 1000cc bike and slap a turbo on it, or are you pussy xD
U have to dyno tune the ecu or there is something included in the package and what about the airmass sensor
Preferably you would dyno this and get a custom tune. And the MAF is “ok” around 8 psi but you should probably replace that. Especially when you can get one like I did with the harness for under $200.

What are AA like to deal with? good customer support? i'm in the uk and i'm looking at supercharger kits but there isn't alot available here except vf engineering supercharger kits. AA rotrex kit seems to get good reviews but unsure because of overseas hassle.

I just haven’t done it yet. I’d like to eventually
What supercharger you have and where do you buy your m3 engines
He has a 330 which has a M54 not the M3’s S54 (he’s just using it’s fuel rail) but if you want to supercharge your BMW you can go with VF Engineering, Active Autowerke, Vortech, and ESS (if you have an M3 or S54 engine you can also opt for a Gintani Supercharger)
Do u know the diffrence between the levle 1 and the levle 2 i have a levle1 but i want to run a intercooler what do u think
They make an upgrade kit. I think it’s just the intercooler parts and a tune. You can call and ask them
Thank u i will
Can this work on a bmw 130i e87 it has the n52b30 engine. I see a lot of 328i (if im not wrong) with the n52 with superchargers. But 0 130i's.
I don't see why a kit that fits the smaller N52, wouldn't fit yours. This kit would not fit your N52 but there are kits that do.
What’s your full mod list ? To support this supercharger
High flow water pump, larger full aluminum radiator, low temperature thermostat, and a 4 puck clutch to handle the power.
how many miles have you but on the car since fitting the rotrex supercharger have you had reliability issues ?
No issues since this video. The system has around 4k miles on it.

Where did you get those headlights from?
They are heavily modified. I have the mods in one of my other videos.
can i do the same installation on e46 2.5l no issues with the vanos? need custom tune?
Vanos is good to go. unless it needs a rebuild. If your engine is healthy, all you need to do it install! Active Autowerke sends you a tune, but it wasn't good. I go through rematch motorsport for all my tunes.
Are you running stock internals?
Yes, all stock inside.
Do you think I can supercharge my 2001 BMW 325i E46 sedan but my BMW is a automatic but would it work for my car
If they still make the kit, yes. I would do a transmission swap before anything else.
Where can I find this exact kit ?
The link is in the description. If the link isn’t working let me know.
What supporting mods are necessary for this besides the fuel injectors?
Injector upgrade came with the kit. Technically you just need to make sure your engine and components are healthy. This kit is designed to slap on a stock car and be just fine. But I would recommend a few things, service with OEM parts; Disa valve, fuel pump, fuel filter, thermostat housing, all coolant hoses and expansion tank. Upgrade water pump with high flow Stewart. Upgrade to low temp thermostat. And maybe look into a full aluminum radiator.
@@TenzaMotorsports and how much was the kit and where can i find it?
When done with the M3 you should supercharge an xdrive model!
Would this work on 325i sedan or do i need more modification.
Do a 3.0 swap first. You can find them as cheap as $300-500 on occasion. Pull your 2.5 and sell it to make your money back. Cheapest way to get 40hp and then look at boosting the car.

I have. I just haven’t looked into it very hard
to bad this isnt an e60 530i, im thinking about the same thing but cant find much about anyone doing an e60 530i with the SC,
They should have kits for the 3.0 of the e9x and e6x cars. The n52 engine is what most those cars have. They makes kits last time I looked

Does the front grille on the bumper have to be removed or can it fit in front of the intercooler?
Not that i remember. I actually cut the grill out before the install so I wouldn’t know if it fits or not. A solid guess from me, yes i believe it doesn’t need modifications.

Have anyone did this set up with a m50 manifold
So i have the same engine but is stock internals going to handle it?
Yes. As far as I’ve read they can handle upwards of 600 crank. The problem is, the transmission goes out before the engine will. I run around 470 crank, and it does great.

Would you drop it in a 328ci ?
If I had a smaller engine, I’d look into a 3.0 upgrade. Then look into boost
6k for the kit! Wow. With that i could buy another e46
You could. But you’d still have less than 200hp. 6k for the kit and then it’s faster than an M3
@@TenzaMotorsports true. However if I spring for an 90 335 instead of e46 I will have 300hp. Not saying that I would since I don't like any bmw after the e46 generation but that is a better approach than spending $6k for a supercharger kit, IMO. Not if you want the e45 styling of course.
hey bro do you have any problems after 3 years?
No big problems! I’ve actually had the kit for closer to 5 years and I don’t regret it at all. There’s been things here and there but thing beyond standard maintenance.

if the tune is from active they normally make the tune rich to protect the engine. you need a custom tune to get the AFR right.
Thats why on the M3 some people who buys the ESS VT-525 kit gets the 550 pulley and just slap it in using the 525 tune and it gets the AFR almost dead on (still a little rich but not as bad as canned tune from ess w/ the 525 pulley).
This problem has since been resolved. I changed to a smaller pulley to account for my altitude. But I have looked into other tuning options. I want to be able to tune the car myself eventually.
