Facts 💯. I’m from Texas I’ve seen every TCM. These 2 are my favorite of the entire franchise. And I remember going to the movies seeing these 2 from 2003 and 2006. I remember going into this one knowing everyone was gonna die because of the very reason you just said .
R Lee Ermey is such a standout in any film he is part of.. one of if not the most recognizable voice in the history of cinema imo.. a US veteran and former marine drill instructor.. truly a legend R.I.P Gunny 🇺🇸

Old lady who works the gas station is Charlie’s mom and Monty’s sister. Tommy is pretty much Charlie’s adopted brother but it seems like he sees him more as a nephew. The big Tea Lady isn’t a relative, as far as I know, but just a family friend. In the Remake, the little boy was most likely someone they adopted like with Tommy. And I’d say it’s likely the Henrietta, the lady who took the baby, is probably the Tea Lady’s daughter. Too me that seems about right. The comics and novel may go a bit deeper in explanation but I haven’t read those so I’m not positive.

This is not a joke. The biggest reason why didn't make any much on the box office in 2006 is because Jordana Brewster's character was too likable and a lot of people hated the fact that she died at the end. And I had to agree. I didn't like the fact that she died at the end, too.
This one was almost predicable because it's a prequel noone was gonna survive this for sure or they would have to explain them in the first which they didn't. But still a fun thrill ride very gruesome even more than the last one lol.

You have to look up Ed Gein, who was born in 1906. He was the inspiration for "Leatherface". He had furniture and lamp's made from human bones and skin, and would cannibalize his victim's. He also was a grave robber. He was the first real modern serial killer. Law enforcement finally caught him in 1957. He spent the rest of his life in a Mental Hospital, dying in 1987 of heart failure.
Mendota Mental Health Institute is where ed gein died at which is located in Madison,Wisconsin and the killings took place in Plainfield,Wisconsin and he’s buried in Plainfield Cemetery WI with his brother and mother and I think most of it stemmed from his family passing away because if that’s the case why didn’t he kill until after his family passed away he went insane

The dog bled on my kitchen floor this morning from a hang nail and he said again, it’s a bodily function mom, smdh. That’s his new thing he must’ve saw on RUclips, bodily function so when he itches his balls im gonna think in my head, it’s a bodily function. Lol
About Leatherface being homeschooled there were comics set in the remake continuity where he went to school but he was slow and got bullied for both that and being deformed. He also drew in a notebook and killed animals.
I couldn't help but laugh out loud when the biker chick pulled out the Sawed-Off 12g. I would love to have seen her shoot that thing 1 handed from a bike 😂. Large men would have trouble holding on to that thing standing on flat ground.

You need to watch “Leatherface”, 2017 movie. It tells more of how he became leatherface and explains the family dynamics more. It’s not cannon, but I think it makes more sense how they became what we know now. Then, you should watch the TCM movie with Alexandria Daddario. It explains what happened to Leatherface after his last relative died who took care of him.
When I bought the DVD for this film (which is rated 18 here in Britain), there were kids in the shop. I put my hand over the box so that the kids didn't see what was on the cover.
I know it's probably wishful thinking, but I hope that someday they decide to continue this timeline. New Line/Warner no longer has the rights, but maybe Platinum Dunes could do something?..
The biggest nit pick I have with this one is that the young protagonists look to modern (for the time) and they don't look like they belong in the 60's, they still have that early 2000's look. At least Lee Tergesen looked the part of a 60's-70's biker! But other than that I actually prefered this one over the 1st remake and this is a much better prequel origin story of Leatherface than the actual origin story in the original movie cannon with Leatherface from 2017, that one sucked and wasn't believable at all!
Its worth mentioning that leatherfaces mom from the beginning is the real daughter of the fat woman from later on in the movie that looks like her, so it might be intentional to imply they're the same person
I didn't realize this movie had a theatrical release. I had never heard of it until I saw it at Blockbuster and assumed it was just straight to video. Definitely love this one and the previous as MY Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies. I call 'em the Michael Bay remakes. And I was born in '76. Not just for the horror, action, humor, and gore, but for the origins of the family: the Sheriff's experience as a POW, Leatherface's skin condition...just made it a little more real for me. I'd say this one is more Ermy's movie than Leatherface's 🤷🏻♂️

I prefer this one to the 2003 remake. This one was so much better. R. Lee Ermy adlibbed that bit about the Sheriff being with them and holding the stew. He actually adlibbed most of his dialogue and actions in these movies. The novelization for the remake is great!! The Slash Trax channel has a narration of it and it s really good. When Ermey grabs his balls, I think that was a reference to Full Metal Jacket.

Uncle Monty losing his legs was still awesome. No survivors, i dont think ive seen any other horror movie that had no victims survive.
