In the first script, Erin figures out she's pregnant, in the ultimate version they deleted this detail. Training with Ivana Chubbuck, Jessica Biel decided to imagine that she was actually pregnant of Kemper, in order to have more of a reason to run for her life: to save Kemper's baby's life. In this way, she made a great, true performance. Great remake. I love it.

Na this ain't on the level of the first but its a good Hollywood version this is more of a typical Hollywood product version of the property which is fine and works well but its not on the level of the first. What makes the first so good is it feels real because of its low budget grit and grime which works for the fake based on a true story feel. This movie takes place in the 70s but it never really feels like the 70s like the original it feels like a Hollywood higher budget horror movie which isn't bad but doing that automatically losses 4o percent of why the OG was so loved. The reason this movie is good or part of it is because it isn't really a remake of the first its just another Chainsaw movie in the series because all the sequels just repeated the first but in stand alone stories this movie is no more a remake then any of the sequels.

Yeah, as far as remakes go, this one is definitely near the top. I give the edge to the original, just because that one has that 70’s vibe that cannot be replicated.

This movie still scares the f**k out of me. While the original Leatherface was more of a scared and mentally challenged Leatherface.
The remake and 2006 prequel brings this monster on to the silver screen and goddamn traumatizes me.
Andrew Bryanarski is still doing such an amazing job as Leatherface. The clothing, mask and giant chainsaw are just terrifying and tramuatizing.
I cannot imagine what if would been filming, even if it was not IRL when filming. Imagine being chased by Andrew in that costume and chainsaw while someone records you for a movie.

Great reaction. I'm also looking forward to your reaction to TCM: The Beginning. I actually prefer that one over this one. You know R. Lee Ermey is amazing when he totally outshines Leatherface in these movies.
I remember when I saw this one in theaters. My dad and I drove to a theater an hour away from where we lived, and on the drive there I started feeling very sick. I felt fine when we left the house, but I felt like absolute death by the time we arrived to the theater. I ended up having the flu and it hit me like a ton of bricks. Then add the gruesomeness of this movie on top of that. It was an experience, needless to say. lol

As a born and bred Texas man the lore of this franchise is to make people believe this is a true crime story the beginning of the remake adds to it cuz true crime is horror after all. This came out my first year in the Marine Corps good ole 2003 when times were better

If I hadn't ad the original to compare this to, I'd rate it higher. That said, of the spate pf remakes Platinum Dunes and whoever else suddenly made in the early 00's, this is one of the better ones. It doesn't have the stark reality of the original, but it does have the disturbing sense of the grotesque that the original did. And getting John Laroquette back to do the narration was awesome.

I’m the same, when it comes down to it I shake like a leaf. I had to call 911 when there was a dude at my front and back door on Halloween nite trying to use my phone. I knew it was bad and woke my husband up and he grabbed our shotgun and they ran off. But before I could process it, my husband was telling me to call emergency services and I forgot the number! Scary af
