Me, a white person who doesn’t own colored pencils, learning how to color dark skin tones, and loving your videos. I don’t understand why people would care what race you are??
the 'eww black hands' comment was so cruel.. i'm from india, there are pale/wheat ish/dark skinned people here but nowhere dark as me. I'm always left self conscious when filming videos with my hands in it just because of the fear of getting the same racist comment. I'm still trying to improve on it and tell myself that it doesn't matter. but people like us have been bullied throughout school, have adults laughed at our expense, and now idk when I would be completely ready. so kudos to you! I love you and your work! ❤
I am an Afro-Puertorican artist who routinely draws people of color. When I was in art school many years ago I asked why did we not have live models of color and the professor answered that the black body does not adequately represent the beauty of the human form. I took great exception to this as did many of the other students one of whom complained to the dean of the art department. The professor was forced to apologize but after that incident I didn’t even want to look at him. One of our assignments was to draw our family members. Mine range from beige to ebony black and I titled my presentation “The Beauty of Black.” Btw. I love your hands.

People are ignorant. Your skin is beautiful, your art is amazing. We live in a broken world. People love to hate. It's sad. I feel sorry for people who hate on others. They must be pretty miserable people.

Jeez Temi, I'm a middle aged white woman and I love love love the fact that you are a young creative, confident, black woman showing the world your talent. You have such a great platform to encourage and inspire other young people of colour to go out and do their thing confidently in spite of the racist and hate comments you get. I love this video - put them in their place! You are an inspiration to all artists irrespective of their heritage, colour, size, religion etc. For me personally, as an artist trying out a new medium, I have already learnt so much from your great teaching. I don't care if someone is black white or stripey as long as they are able to be proud of who they are. You, are simply, amazing.
I genuinely LOVE watching your videos, your videos have really helped me improve my portrait drawings especially when I'm drawing people of colour as you've really helped me understand all of the different tones within the skin and I never used to use purple for shadows and I do now and it really makes a difference, I just love your artwork, your perspective on art and your passion,your always gunna have horrible cruel people that will have something negative to say about you or your art, they are an absolute waste of time, so please please please keep making your amazing videos because they are SO beneficial to young artists such as myself ❤❤
