I sent my ex to Doug Foley's super/comp driving school (Top Fuel Doug Foley) as an anniversary present, well she drove the class like she drove them every day - best in class, and good enough to piss Foley off (he hates women) - all the students, all men, were cool as could be to her, she even got an offer from a local Jersey guy to drive for him. We're from outside Detroit so that didn't fly.

The solution is a cdo9 with a T56 input shaft 29 splines they convert it in a place in Texas to what you need
Wish I could be there to meet ya. But my only option is if you guys ever make to Ozark Raceway in Mo. That's where I got to meet the SRC family. (Sounds better than the Old Man's family lol) Mom is 85, and I can't get too far away. The Ozark track is less than an hour from my house. Someday, I look forward to meeting you guys there.

66 mustang bracket car, 2,650 lbs. 351 Cleveland built with an Art Carr C-4 trans. Runs 9.90s on the motor. There's a good baseline for you guys.

1350-1330 conversion universal joint. Curious to see how the tkx holds up. I busted 3rd,the countershaft, and the case on my faceplated tko600 last time out.
Did it have the threaded cluster support installed in it?
@@cb84capri no. I’m going to send another case to Liberty and have them do it. When I initially put the trans together they only did that modification in large runs, and it was going to take months. Now they do it on an individual basis.
It's ridiculous tremec put those on the market with the slip in style shell. The 3550, old tko and tko500 have a shoulder on that shell and get installed from inside the case so it physically can't walk out the front. The cluster for the 600 with the different gear ratios requires the shell to be out during assembly or it won't drop in. It needs to go into the front hole first where the 3.27 set can slide through the rear hole first.
@@cb84capri yeah it’s a pretty stupid design. The gears are so large on the 600 the countershaft won’t physically fit in the case with the earlier bearing retainer that goes in from the inside. I’m sending a 20 year old case (which is exactly the same) to Liberty to have the threaded retainer done, countershaft worked over, and it has to have a new 3rd faceplated. When I bough the trans as a basket case originally, it needed all this stuff, and that old case was threaded, but a chunk wedged itself around the reverses idler and broke the case.

An automatic would kinda kill the ability to have a fun stick shift street car 🤷🏼♀️ We have mid 4 second race cars for going fast, we just wanna cruise to the ice cream shop and do a little slow car racing with this thing.

You gotta love the oxygen rich air this side of the country - if something's on the edge, you'll break it from the extra power.
Side tip: break those clutches in on the street, it's cheaper and easier than cooking a new clutch and having to reface the flywheel. Just sayin.
Do you use 1st gear for a burn out ? i normally see a lot of smoke when others use 2nd gear. Do they have a twin plate copper mix for that model car ? that Gt ford look so good very clean car .

Lmao I can’t tell you how many times I take my car and it’s always the first time, it’s been 11.90s yeah it’s a slow stick shift street car.
I love how the tech guy couldnt answer Tonys question and like most of them they just follow the book without questioning anything, he was super cool and honest about it all though. Around here ive asked 3 different tech guys that same question about battery relocation and added that Volvo, BMW, VWs and some Chrysler have batteries elsewhere in the car other than under the hood and they dont require an external shut off.....15yrs later still no answer other than “go ahead its a street car” anyway lol

Just curious, why were all the previous clutches going bad? I’m getting into the territory of 11s with my 5speed and need some good advice.
The first one we shimmed the pressure plate out to get a better angle on the clutch fork when we should have adjusted the pivot ball instead. Because the pressure plate was shimmed, it didn’t have enough clamp load and let the clutch slip. When we put another clutch in it, we should have had the flywheel resurfaced, but in the rush of things we just scuffed it up and didn’t realize it was severely warped which is what ruined the second one. It’s all just user error and trying to rush and make it to the next race.
