Hate to see it but above all it’s incredibly you walked out of that unfazed and well. The way your husband gave you a hug when he saw you were ok ❤️. You know his heart hit the floor when he saw it happen.
Thankfully you were in every bit of your safety equipment and it definitely saved you ALOT of pain. Glad your safe and will be back at it.💯👍💪
I’m so glad she wasn’t hurt any worse ( praise the Lord) she took a hard impact and could of been so much worse ….I cried when I first saw this video…I have been a big fan of S.R.C. and the old mans garage and as you two came into the picture I started watching your channel and fell in love with Tess ( k good bye and silly hello ) and love you both how you just fit together in everything in life …nothing but best wishes and beautiful dreams for you both …love ya guys ….Tim….❤❤❤❤

Looked like rear differential locked up as you crossed the finish line. Glad you walked away from that, those hits we're brutal. Take care Tess and crew.
it actually spun right as I lifted. Driveshaft speed shot up a couple hundredths before i was out of the gas.

Hate to see the car torn up, but really glad it was well-built and kept you safe. I'm sure you'll regroup and come back badder than ever! We're all interested to see how you're doing since the crash.
The fact you walked away from that speaks volumes to the quality of work put into the safety items like the cage, seat, harness and other item.
Holy crap what a hit! 160mph is no joke at all, glad you were able to walk away. Safety equipment worked!
I have watched that crash a few times , that was quite violent. I am sorry to see your car destroyed but like everyone else has mentioned glad you were able to walk away , that's the most important thing!
I hit "like" for viewership. Hit like for Tess and Tony staying safe. the safety crew and equipment saved Tess physically. can't "like" the ending carnage. Honestly didnt know this happened till checking out channel after SRC and the New 410 ride.
Just goes to show how safe these machines really are. That was one hell of an impact. Glad that you walked away unscathed 👍🏻
Back in 1978 acquired a 1970 maverick from N.C. body had less than 20k miles on it. Between the shock towers was a brand new crate Boss 302 motor. Maverick had more mustang suspension than maverick. Jack Rousch headers, big spline Ford top loader with Hurst competition plus shifter at the rear was narrowed 9" nodular carrier with Detroit Locker 4:11 gears. Street raced a good bit, hurt a lot of feelings. Sad to see yours ripped to pieces but glad you walked away.
Glad you were not hurt in that. I gotta say the look on your face during the crash. You the real deal. The focus and didnt really see you panic to much through your that shield on your helmet. Hats off to you. Again happy to see you were not hurt.

This woman is the pinnacle of Badass!
She gave the car and track everything that car could have ever given trying to catch up and damn she was going.... just imagine if she'd hit it on time and left the line even half of what she was behind. I'm glad she's ok and really look forward to seeing her and that car back on the track

Glad you are ok, I don't understand why people that run 140 plus dont have chutes on the car street car or not get out of shape pull the damn chute, I lived through something very similar in my S-10 many years ago and my father put a chute on the truck after that and I have hit the wall a few times but the chutes saved the truck and probably my life, I only say this out of concern not being critical. I have been a long time subscriber to your channel and you are a good driver. Good luck and hope to see you racing again.
A chute wouldn’t have stopped this from happening. to be honest it’s extremely rare that a chute or chutes as you say stops you from hitting the wall and crossing the track. It may have slowed her down in a straight line and maybe she would have only hit the wall head on at 120 instead of 130. she had all the safety equipment required for the times she was running and chutes are not to prevent accidents they are made to slow down cars NHRA says only cars running 150+ in the 1/4 you are required to have ONE chute because there is not enough track to slow down on brakes alone and anything over 200+ in the 1/4 you need chutes plural as you say and she’s not going 200+

Whew, glad it didnt go over, that was a hard hit on the second impact... glad your ok! Big props to the track crew for getting out to you as fast as they did!
Broke my heart to see you all work to make the round then that happens, terrified me when i saw how much you bounced around and how much your head moved.....in the end you were ok physically and thats all that matters. Good luck on the rebuild.
A couple of massive hits, the Maverick done it's job, I am so glad you were able to walk away, and hope you are back racing soon. Must be heartbreaking to lose such a classy, well built car, after all the hours put in, but I am sure the next one you build will be as awesome.

I am truly sorry that you had that experience. I understand the feelings that go along with crashing it is not easy to get through but you will get through it and be back in the seat again. Truly the mark of a true drag racer with a love and passion for racing.
what a ride glad the safety stuff did its job and remember its only metal and you are ok that is all that matters

Tess, so sorry for the loss of the Maverick. We all are very thankful, it wasn't worse than it was...keep your spirit ☝ and we hope you heal up soon.
There's a lot of good to take from this video, despite the outcome. 1) The safety crew was on point, did their job proficiently and even inspected the helmet, belts and head restraint for damage so they cant be used again in case of fatigue. 2)Awesome to see you in there with the guys getting dirty and hands on, it' isn't just for men 3)Good to see the car held up GOOD for what it went through 4)EVERY single video I watch, I look for safety stuff because so many of us don't take it serious - You're in the group of a few people I see that appears to be 100%..GOOD JOB! 5)lastly and most importantly - you got out relatively unscathed. Any idea what the cause was? Internet diagnosis looks to me like the rear end locked up - you can see it skidding the back tires after the initial hit, or that's the brakes locked up in the back?
A chute probably would not have prevented the initial hit, but, having already activated one prior to finish line may have kept the Mav from crossing over so violently. At this level of performance you gotta have one.

I agree about the positive. Great job . She remind me of my mom in the 60's &70's. I feel the scariest part for me was when she was under the car when the right side came down a little then she repositioned under the car on her knees . BIG safety ping , NO JACK STANDS. please use them in the future when working under the car. Can't wait to see you back in the drivers seat.
To everyone who need to flag the Racing safari safety crew as Hero's .. I just wanna remind you that's the Job ..OK they did their job ,, Much like a cop who does his job or a Nurse who does her's it's when people DON'T do their job we have problems . Like say when the Entire Republican party puts party before country and DOES NOT DO THEIR JOB..and allows a criminal to stay in office ...

Anyone who's been in a car wreck before knows how violent they can be. It goes without saying how fortunate you were to be able to walk away from this one.
She is as tough as a person can be for sure. You literally hit hard enough to blow the fkn windshield through the seal. Those 2 pinball hits were brutal.
Heartbreaking such a beautiful car, but mostly glad all safety equipment kept you safe.!
I enjoy the banter going on as you two work on the car's together. Billy has fun working with you two and has a fun example of a racing couple that gets in done and enjoys the process too. Keep the content coming with Tess turning wrenches.

Glad your ok! The shut down seemed a bit sketchy to me, my car got really close to the wall in the right lane as well. It looked like you were clearly steering left and it still went right. Good luck getting back out there!
In some way it feels weird to click on the thumbs up when a crash like this happens, but you keeping calm and switching off everything 👍
Cant really tell if you have a 'Hans' device, if not then make it your first priority getting one before racing again! Doesnt matter if rules say you can get away with just this and that safety equipment, get the best you can even if it costs a lot! Ok?!
At 6:52 when you jumped under the car with the drain pan.
Proves beyond a shadow of doubt that you are a "Racer" with a "Racers Heart" your hair went in the drain pan and you stayed on task.
Did not even blink.

Alot of good she stayed calm tried her best to capture it but there is just those times when you are not going to save them all she is a true driver to stay calm and not over react nothing she did caused this great video alot of people can learn from stay calm don't over steer and make it worse

Hard to watch someone get thrown around like that, but thankful you are ok. Things can get replaced, but you can not.
Damn that was a pretty hard hit. Looked like the rear end locked up to me.
Fyi get the system so your head is strapped to the seat you still have enough slack to move around but then it prevents whip lash or at the very least get a neck brace

Thought the rear end broke again but you can hear the rpm’s bump briefly before the turn and I saw in the comments the drive shaft speed also bumped, so if the rear end was still good it was all tire spin from so much sauce on the top end, such a cool car, glad no one was hurt.

Tight brake on the right maybe ?And un loading the suspension at a super fast speed.Glad you are ok and that seemed like the best place for that to happen because of the Jersey walls being the whole length.

I was at the track that day and had admired your car in the pits (I have a soft spot for old Mavericks) and was crushed when I watched your wreck unfold and was so relieved that you were ok.

Parachutes they are a pain in the ass to pack. But when you get in the habit of using them. They will save you in more ways than you can count. Kinda like when someone grabs you by the shirt collar and it pulls you backwards. It straightens you out every time. Good thing you won’t hurt. You were very calm surprisingly. Not the first bad word even at the oh shit moment. Definitely was on a good pass.
I keep kicking myself because I had a parachute and launcher ready to go on, but just ran out of time before the race. Figured it wasn’t too big of a deal since the track in Vegas is so long. Oh boy was I wrong.
