There are a lot of companies now that sell them and YOU as a Consumer need to be protected and informed when making a purchase like this. In this video I'll be telling you everything you need to know from a first time buyers perspective as to how to handle the purchase and also be 100% satisfied with the final outcome of the carbon fiber steering wheel you order. Companies will sell you a CORE and make you think you're getting a fully finished wheel. I'm here to make sure that doesn't happen to you after waiting 6-10 weeks for your wheel to arrive! Most companies say in the description that the wheel doesn’t come with the controls or air bag

There’s never been a time where I assumed trim and buttons would be included with a Wheel replacement. Specifically cf. but that’s just me.
Unless of course they put up a photo of a fully CF wheel with the lower price attached.
@@raymonddsouza8948 yes. But they usually don’t. And if they do there are drop down option that let you choose that. I mean that’s how you order a custom steering wheel or you contact the company and ask. He clearly did that but after he received the wheel. Sounds like it was rectified though. Personally I like the grips without the cf inserts on the leather portions.

That is expensive I believe. I purchased a core for my GT350 for $350 out the door with a first time discount. It was time consuming to move the airbag center and buttons/trim over mostly because it wasn’t a perfect fit on the bottom back part. But it came out alright and I’m happy with it. It’s like yours on the 3/9 o’clock area. I’m glad it did because it’s hot where I live and the top part gets really hot when sitting outside. So, I can grip around the sides of the wheel for the first few minutes of driving and not burn my fingers.
Video helped me out. Ended up getting a core and putting stock steering functions. More cheaper and let's me know 100% functions will work.
do they hold up? does it just start to fray the stitching? is it quality or am I going to have the leather falling off a year after I get it?
When you get the other wheel could you possibly show what it would look like with the stock pieces if it's not to much of a hassle I personally would like to see if it's worth it 🥴
Did you figure out how to disable the seat belt & airbag warnings after changing the seats?
ive been shopping these and i had no doubt is was a core only.. but i research everything to death before buying most anything expensive

Hey Brother. Great video. While I have had a similar experience i eventually worked it out. Great info for rookies. Everyone has a different opinion about the feeling of the wheel but I like the perforated leather or Alcantara at the 3 and 9 position. I gather u like the CF feel 👌

You know when I ordered a wheel the company was very plain about what you were getting in the fact that you'll be transferring your buttons in your own trim if you do not purchase their trim. They were also very obvious about if you wanted the factory heating to work you would have to figure out the wiring from the four wires they give you because it will not be Plug and Play. I can understand getting ahead of oneself but always read the fine print.

I purchased mine from carbon city customs and they let you completely customize every little detail and let you chose if the trims and buttons come with it

Kinda wish I saw this video before... I payed 700 for the core with the led which I think is a steal but would’ve liked a complete wheel
Also... The New Wheel does "NOT" have the two holes in the back for the removal of the Air bag for Future wheel removal !
I’m expecting a core.. I paid 200 though and it is now for sale for 700 by the same seller. I think they messed up, but we will see what I get for 200.

Depends, if you go with Zen Carbon then you can select the option to keep the heated steeringwheel function
I've heard this from a few people. I decided to go with a factory Alcanteria wheel from a Redeye for my ScatWB. Picked it up for less than 1/2 and it feels great in the hand.

And its heated. The only thing tho is alkantera will not last long - especially on a sterring wheel

fully custom ordered my wheel for my Fiesta ST which is my no corners cut, nothing left on the table, it cost my $1500 total. Still waiting for it to be finished being made. Will post a vide when it comes in.

@@beansr7556 I paid $2k for my setup, mines more then a wheel though, paddles, knob, airbag cover, fully done up wheel with heat and everything I could have done to it. Bought my first wheel from VLM for $1.3k and quality control was a mess with it. Bought my 2nd wheel from a different manufacturer that has higher QC and I paid more but got a nicer setup. Vehicle make and model can also impact price as well.
Idk how you don’t see that they’re just the pure wheel. Most people overpay tho I got one for $620 🤷🏻♂️

$900 for the entire wheel complete that’s pretty cheap . I mean it’s a completely custom wheel with carbon fiber and perforated leather miles above the factory item… it’s definitely meant to just put your factory parts on the custom wheel I’m pretty sure they implied this on their website…. Since you don’t mention the brand it’s hard to know for sure.

It just got hit on Friday and I haven't driven the car since. It literally did that from the rock hit. Shit was brutal! It's getting fixed on the 17th. Earliest they couldnl do it.

Another thing with these aftermarket wheels is that they have no access hole to remove the airbag later on down the road.
Usually these are modified oem steering wheels. So it's weird they don't have the holes like the oem ones do.
they must have an access hole cause how are you going to screw in the airbag to secure it to begin with no access makes no sense. They use stock mechanism
You can get them fully built you just send your old wheel back to them

These are aftermarket steering wheels, not customized steering wheels. I have contacted 4 manufacturers and none will do a custom wheel. What you see it what they offer. All I want is turn signal indicator on my wheel because my wheel hides the ones on the dashboard. No sir, we don't make that.
