God this is so cool. Thanks Kyu-Bum Lee. I've been a huge fan of your work for a while now, ever since those boards of cute space animals first crossed my screen. I just want you to know that the stuff you do is great, and I'll be around for whatever you come up with next. Thanks!
Thank you for making this rig available!! And thanks for this walkthrough! I first learned about this watching your interview on Toon Boom Animation channel.
I just downloaded Harmony and this rig to learn how to use the software and before I even start this video I just wanna say this is the most adorable design ever and I love it.
Thank you so much! I've just picked up ToonBoom and wanted to know how those 3D rigs feel like. Looking forward to learning from the best. If I ever make something worth it one day, I'll have you to thank for it. :)
I don't know a thing about animation and rigs and I'll certainly never use this tutorial, but I'll be damned if this isn't the most interesting process I've ever watched.
Love this! That is so generous of you, Kyu-bum Lee! Thanks!!!! Animation Tutorial: I'd love to see an animation tutorial - but not to add to your workload- so if any of you users would care to show your rig in action, I am sure this community would love to see it!
I would love for you to make a rig series of this or another character with all the features that you implemented ... it would be incredible greetings, from ECU
Really kool design . I would love to see a stream of you actually animating with rig the switching animating between the different character views. 1. Walk through, (Yes) 2. ?????? (Animating with the rig) ?????? (No? Why not?) 3. End Result (Yes) Thanks so much for sharing.
Kyu please answer me if you can. Can you make a tutorial covering how to make a turnaround from scratch? The master peg can’t have different locations for different angles and drives me insane
Hi Kyu-bum Lee, Lovely rig. I studied the whole thing in the node view and I realized you have invert cut the Color Art of quite a number of layers by their own same Color Art. Is there a technical secret reason for it that you chose to do so instead of plugging the Color Art directly into the composite? Thanks again. The whole rig is a delight.
I don't know if the fixed it in the later versions of Harmony but all that stuff is to prevent sliver of color showing through when you use cutters. it only shows up in the Rendered view and the tv-production I was in used that particular way to solve it. It would be much simpler if the software works as intended.
the rig I got off of Gumroad didn't seem to have a mouth chart like yours. Where do I find the mouth shapes cause I can't seem to figure out how to make the mouth move
I'll be honest, I've never bothered to make a 2D rig that was this complicated, which is why I prefer to animate the old-fashioned way (unless I'm doing 3D animation). However, I won't knock anyone for using this method, seeing as the results can be very impressive if the animator knows what they're doing. After all, the newer Mickey Mouse cartoons are very well animated!
You know what? In hindsight, Family Guy would look a lot better if they used this method to animate their episodes. Sure, setting up the rig is the hardest part, but once you’re done with that, you should be all set.
How are you, friend? I have a question. I'm starting to study Toon Boom and I want to start an animation channel (simple animation). I would like to know if I can create a character for my channel from the pieces that you have made available ... I am from Brazil and I would like to use modeling to create a character with another hair and clothes but with the same face and body. I'm sorry for my English because I speak very little. I can credit you with all the video descriptions. Grateful for the attention
Pretty neat. Do kind of wish it was in something like OpenToonz instead of ToonBoom. ToonBoom's formats are extremely closed down and don't import anywhere else :-| Anyway, thanks for putting this out there!
hi.. i'm totally new to toon boom but want to learn it.. i used this awesome rig but stuck while animating. can you tell how to animate this rig in an action where the character is moving or change the position. I tried but i guess i'm doing something wrong while making poses with this rig. while translating character's upper body in pose where its feet are on floor, whole character is getting mess regarding pivots. plz help me to get out of this...
I'm looking to apply for animation jobs but currently have no experience with working with rigs within harmony. Can I use your model to learn and put any animation tests in a demo reel to show employers? (giving you full credit for the rig of course) - this is amazing!
hey Kyu, I know you are an animator role specifically, but I would like to know what a portfolio should have or look like if I want to be a 2D Rigger? Not sure what Studios would be looking for in rigging portfolio. Does it include anything not specific to rigging?
This honestly looks like something you'd see on Cartoon Network.
Alot of cartoons in cartoon network are animated using toon boom like the one he's using
There is 𝙖𝙣𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧.
You could've told me she was a character from Mighty Magiswords and I'd believe it
Legend is back

@@BuetifullPersun I see you've liked your own comment, what a surprise.

...if Velma from Scooby Doo were in Astro Boy's Universe!
Welcome back Kyu! This ROCKS!
Thank you this was a great introduction for someone completely new to toon boom and 2D rigging!
So that's how people make those really animated 2D lookin cartoons without lookin like it's 3D...and I haven't watched TV in a long time..
Whoa, I always have been interested in making my own rigs, but this one is straight splendidly made, I'll need to learn from this ;') Great job !
I'm happy to see more hardwork you been working on keep up with the awesomeness! ❤️
Glad you're back with amazing work! I've learned a lot from your Bella's rig few years ago. Keep up the great work! :D
i am in LOVE with this character. The rigging looks fantastic.
I'm learning harmony rigging (i want to specialize more) and i love your work! Thanks for this video :)
Thank you for making this rig available!! And thanks for this walkthrough! I first learned about this watching your interview on Toon Boom Animation channel.

Am i the only one thinking of helltaker music as Olive is bobbing around?
No
No
Negative
Bruh, i'm listening to vitality while i watch the video so that Olive can bob to the music (Vitality is one of the soundtracks used in helltaker)
I think of Barbara Streisand when this happens.
Ah! Great build. I miss Toon Boom D:
This Animating skills are Kool, pal. Great Stuff
I don't know a thing about animation and rigs and I'll certainly never use this tutorial, but I'll be damned if this isn't the most interesting process I've ever watched.
I'm getting Helltaker animation vibes from seeing Olive idle like that.
SPEED OF HELL
Nice. I like her design, something I'd expect from Cartoon Network.
This is such an amazing rig, like the amount of work on this is insane. Kinda new to ToonBoom but I'll try to learn to using it!! Thank you.
Bless you!! I'm getting more into 2D rigged animation and this rig is gonna help me practice so much!!
man dude is prepared for everything
been looking for a nice rig to start to learn animating in toonboom and stumbled across this. really well done!
WOW THIS IS SO EXCITING i cant wait to download her and mess around with some tests! Thanks for making this available for everyone!
Cool plus first! Hope u can draw Olive in recent Canadian military uniform in the future.

Was there for a couple of your streams; awesome work that was!
Totally gonna download this and deconstruct it to then build my own rig of my own character. Thank you so much dude.
Thank You man! For making this content available
This is wayyy too cool Kyu :) It's been so long since I looked at 2D tools but this is amazing.
Cool of you to let us download the rig. Thanks!
Missed your tutorials - keep it up ❤️
Can’t wait to see someone make the “aye aye aye I got a gun!” Meme with this

She looks like a character from Cartoon Network, a mixture between Mighty Magiswords and Teen Titans Go, pretty cool!
This looks really nice!

Thank you so much for making it available! how do you select so quickly all the parts of the arm at min 7:57?
By default, hitting "B" will select multiple pieces up the hierarchy
Olive auditioning for Helltakers
Please come back I love your animations
So this is how animators do it
This is amazing!! Can i use this rig as a base to learn and make my own rig?
Sure

In 14:23 How did he push them to the back with a shortcut? Awesome rig btw!!
You think you can come out of nowhere and not get this like
Animation has come so far. Imagine doing all of these tiny animations frame by frame by frame by frame 😥
Just discovered your stream yesterday and then you posted this. Are you gonna be upload your stream footage to your channel. This is so helpfull.
Yes. I will compile and edit the stream into more digestible length and will upload them on youtube
