    Just wanted to add in, you said if you are trying to decide between going home or staying at the hospital, then go home. Be careful giving that advice though because I was advised to go home even though I was in labor because the nurse thought it would be a while. Came back 3 hours later much further along. Then to my surprise, when I got my bill, I was charged TWICE for an "ER visit" because they somehow get away with billing labor and delivery triage as ER. Even with good insurance, that was an extraordinarily expensive bill. I would have rather stayed at the hospital for hours than had to pay that hefty bill twice. Not to mention, a lot of people cant afford that. It'd be nice if patients were warned about that before being told to go home and come back later.

    You should talk about prodromal labor. I have have contractions almost every day for the last 11 weeks. They occur every 2-3 mins lasting for hours. Have been in preterm labor 3 times now. I also have Braxton Hicks every once in awhile and they feel totally different than the prodromal contractions. It's miserable. Unfortunately needing him to stay in as long as possible and the fact that my comfort isn't a reason for induction means I still have 2 weeks to deal with the pain.

      Heather Herman this exact same thing has been happening to me. I’m miserable and exhausted and have gone to the hospital twice, once at 32 weeks where they gave me meds to stop contractions and once at 35 where they just monitored me for a bit then sent me home. With my first born, when I was in labor with her (11 years ago) my Mom and I were doing laps around the hospital because my Mom told me it'd help then a nurse in the hallway told us that, "it's been proven that walking does nothing to help labor". My water had broke and I was in labor for 18 hours and was having excruciating back labor and I was trying to do it without an epidural I stayed 3 CM dilated until 15 hours in and I just couldn't take the pain anymore so I got the epidural. I ended up being fully dilated an hour later, but every time the doctor came to ask me if I was ready, I didn't feel the urge to push at all which is why I didn't deliver until 18 hours in.
    Anyways, this time around I've been walking and doing excercise videos to try and induce labor and I've definitely noticed baby boy moves farther into the pelvis with some of the workouts (problem is he doesn't like to stay there), but I'm super pissed at that nurse for telling me walking doesn't work because if I had continued to walk there's a chance I could have gone without getting the epidural, she obviously didn't know what she was talking about.

    Im 39weeks and 4 days and dont feel any changes or discomfort plus im not even dilated a little bit so my Dr is going to induce me in 5 days. 😞 I just wish my baby would come naturally instead of forcing him out... I really dont want to end up having a C-section.

      We share the same dilemma. Im 39 weeks and 4 days today. My doc is pro induction once im in my 40 week, and I want my labor to be spontaneous and deff not aiming for a C-sec. Let me know how yours went.

    I’m being induced at 39 weeks because of medical reasons and we’re hoping he comes naturally before then (I’m 37 weeks + 5 right now) we’ve been trying everything lol we’ve been going for walks when we can (I’m disabled and this pregnancy has been really rough so I’ve needed a wheelchair most of my pregnancy but I do what I can) we’ve tried everything that’s considered safe and he’s just too comfy in there apparently 😭 I still have some time left so fingers crossed but I’m so tired I’ve been in so much pain I haven’t slept in days and I can hardly even eat

      I'm 25 weeks today, what does it do?

    • @carson551
      @carson551 4 года назад +9

      LAVHELESANI MUNGONI It strengthens your uterus so you have a faster labor. It also helps decrease the amount you bleed after having the baby. These comments reminded me I need to go make some more. I’m just so pregnant and tired and lazy! Also, pineapple, evening primrose oil, and sex (sperm) help soften your cervix. Evening primrose oil also thins your blood. That’s not good for you after you give birth because you want every contraction after birth to really count. My doctor said she only recommends evening primrose oil to women who have never had a baby and show no signs of change in their cervix that are desperate to get the baby out and refuse induction. Dates help you dilate. I’ve heard you should start eating 6 a day at 36 weeks. They also help speed up labor and recovery. Look up everything I said just to check yourself. I’m tired of being pregnant so I’ve been researching.

    Midwives brew!!!!
    10oz of lemon verbena tea
    8 oz apricot juice
    2tbs castor oil
    2tbs almond butter
    Drink within 30 mintues! Use ice for a better taste.. lol
    U get ur contractions in 1 or 2 hour for your first maybe the next day u will have it!
