- Oh the infamous question of all time - how do I KNOW for sure that I'm in labor? What are the signs of labor? What aren't signs of labor? How do I time my contractions? When should I go to the hospital?
I share with you the TRUE signs of labor - fully understanding that everyone is different and of course your story will look different - but this will help you stay HOME until it's actually time to go! ALWAYS trust your instincts and listen to your body. All that and more tips so that you can let go of any stress, let yourself labor and go when it's the right time. I also suggest supplementing with my "Warning Signs" video and "How-to Labor at Home" videos- they all go together!!
*Second/Third-time mommas (and beyond): just to clarify, the sensation criteria is the same but you would move the frequency of contractions up to 3-5 minutes for 1 hr instead of 2.

I've gave birth twice and still not even sure wtf is going on. 😐🙄
Well that makes me feel "better". I feel strong braxton hicks and I'm asked if I'm having contractions. I honestly don't know. Either it'll get worse/more consistant, go away, or baby will slip out lol.
I’m the same third baby and have no idea lol due date Jan 18💙
Girl same 😩
Same thing here🤔😔
Facts!😭👏🏽
I had lower back contractions. Thought i'd watch this video and waters broke while I was watching this! Lol Arrived at hospital at 9cm!😳😀
Omg so lucky
Wow! that's amazing!!! Hope you had a great birth! I just made. similar video on my channel.
Omg I’m 35weeks and 4days and I have extreme lower back pains and I’m feeling flueish 🥺
الله يبارك لنا 😍 😍 😍
Tell me what you did to induce labor ?
With my mom's first child she never had any contraction pains and her water didn't break she happened to go in for a normal dr appointment and she was almost fully dilated and they rushed her to the hospital and she still felt no pain until they broke her water and she delivered 25 minutes later... Almost the same exact experience for her 2nd child (me) 7 years later!
Same here!!! I was in labor for 40 minutes and only pressure like I had to poop and my baby’s head was out no pain nothing else he was still in water bag and they had to pop it with his head crowning then I felt his head at that point and they cut me with his head down there and I felt the burn cus they never gave me local anesthesia so that’s I felt was burn from being cut! They also never gave me local to stitch me back up and I felt every stitch and on the last stitch I said ouch and the surgeon said woa you never got an epidural!?!? I said no not even local anesthesia when they gave me episiotomy and they all (nurses doctors) told me I had wicked high pain threshold cus I only felt the last stitch when the surgeon pulled and tightened the last one stitch!!!! Imagine that kind of ádrenaline rush!! I am pretty sure it was all adrenaline that made me withstand that pain and when I was being stitched I wasn’t paying attention to pain I was embracing my newborn and in love and that’s on another level of just being able to forget all the madness happening around or to you!!! TRUST YOUR BODY WAS MADE FOR THIS WOMEN!!!! Love and light to you all!!! Shalom 🕊💖✨👑💛✨
Wow!!!! What a lucky woman 😍
Wow - that’s amazing!!!!
This is what I'm terrified of 🤭 the pressure feels like surely baby will just fall out!
I never knew I was having contractions my first pregnancy. I was sent into l&d and the nurses kept asking me if I felt that contraction, I was like umm no lol. I could see them happening on the screen but I never felt them. I just felt the crazy pressure when I had to start pushing:
She is exactly right. I knew when it was time. There was NO question. There came a point when the contractions became ALL CONSUMING, they were 3 minutes apart, and I said “let’s go.” Showed up at 8 cm dilated, and baby was born 1.5 hours later.
I really like your positive and energetic way of communicating. It’s really uplifting. Also, I love the idea of celebrating the little signs even if they don’t mean you are going into labor right away. I needed to hear that waiting these last two weeks for baby to arrive!
Me one month postpartum still watching pregnancy and labor videos because I love her content 😭😭
Same here lol
XxKIKIBxX im almost 4 months postpartum and still watch her videos lol!

That's simply not true! "When u are in Labor, there will be NO Doubt in your mind!".. Not for everyone! With my 1st baby I was still saying "I really don't think I'm in Labor, I'm just a little uncomfortable" at the hospital (mother made me go). Anyways, I was 9.5 cm when we arrived & they asked "OK, are u ready to push?"!!!
😂😂😂 the “shut up don’t talk to me right now” description is so accurate.
I needed this. A wake up call to get me to stop fixating on my contractions that are definitely irregular and mild. Being a ftm I just get so wrapped up trying to figure out if it's true labor or not. And then it stops 🤣 38 +4 and I'm so ready for this baby girl to come out.

34 weeks today with my first ❤️ I’ve watched so many videos but can’t seem to get enough 😂
My biggest fear is my water breaking while I’m in public 😂
Don't worry. It usually happens when you are calm and relaxed. Mine has broken at 3:30am while in bed with all three of my pregnancies. As long as baby is not breech and contractions are tolerable I've tooken my sweet time before going to the hospital. I eat, shower, pray, get the kiddos ready, call my in laws, mom by around 8am so they are not startled lol. Just try to be comfortable before it gets intense and have to hit the hospital setting. Pregnant with my fourth and he's breech at 32 weeks, my first time ever so I'm hoping he flips before then so I can labor at home and avoid a c-section as I'm scared of epidural and surgery.😖Best of luck to you mama. 💕
I’m terrified my water will break while I’m in the car. I heard amniotic fluid rotes car seats.. hubby would be so low key mad
Bring towels to sit on car. Layer those towels. :) just have them in the car ready to go
Then just stay home simple 😂😂
@@biancalewis4232 My sisters water broke in my car and it didn’t smell or anything similar to it.
38 weeks on Monday with my 2nd. I just want this baby OUT
YES!! I'm 37 weeks since yesterday and I'm so exhausted already!!
I'm 38 weeks tomorrow with number 4 and I feel this comment.
I'll be 39-weeks on Monday. I want a May baby so I need this kid to stay in utero at least until Friday, May 1st! 😄
39wks and 3d w/ my 2nd and am soo uncomfortable...
Feeeeeeeeling it ! I’m 37 weeks but I’m 100% my due date is way off. My belly measures like I’m 40 weeks AND my baby weighs about 7 pounds already! Well if the ultrasound is accurate usually it’s somewhat off but still 7 pounds at 37 weeks?!?? Lol
Hmmm... if I listened to this with my first child I probably would have had him at home. I never got to the point where I was moaning and groaning through contractions. I got to the hospital at 7 cm dilated and only went because my husband really wanted me to. I was uncomfortable and in pain but still able to speak. I was not at all convinced I was actually in labor. Everyone is different.
I went to my weekly appointment today and doctor let me know my cervix is softening. Baby could be here any day and I’m so excited! I’m hoping he can hold off until Friday. I really want him to be an October baby💙
I was 2 cm dilated and 50% effaced at 37 weeks. 38 weeks and 3 days today...we may have October babies!
@@chelseywalker7123 Yay 💙 I hope you have a safe delivery and fast recovery ☺️
Did you end up having the baby yet !?
@@ximenamorales1553 yes!! Came to the hospital last night. I was getting what I called really bad “cramps”. I couldn’t sleep them off and they were 5 mins apart, for an hour, each 1 minute long. When I got to the hospital I was 2cm dilated then an hour later I was 4 cm dilated. I ended up having my baby boy at 249 pm! Honestly the contractions were worse than actually pushing out the baby. I did epidural 😁
Congratulations my edd was 1st October and Iam still here
34 hours in natural labour - 1st time mom. It took me 24 hours to get in Active labour 4cm, and 10 hours to delivery. 30 minutes of pushing phase.
If you and your baby are healthy and you really want to have a natural birth, just let your body works on its pace.
My water broke when I was fully dilated.
My water broke on my baby girls due date in bed at 5 am and she was here by 10 am. So a very fast(to me) 5 hour all natural labor. Consistant mild contractions started around 5:30 am. Arrived at hospital around 6:30 am at 5 cm. Very painful labor, but I'm glad it happened how it did. She was out in just 2 pushes! Baby #1 & 2 I was induced & hooked up to a bunch of stuff so I couldn't move into different positions like I did this time. Not to mention how long my labor was with them hours & hours...7.11oz 4.18.2020
I'm 40 weeks today and have been really nauseous, having random braxton hicks, cramping, back pain and pelvic pressure. I'm so thankful you put this video out today, I really needed to hear this again💕
I am 40 weeks in 2 days. I'm so tired. Good luck 💕💕💕💙💙
Did you have your baby yet?
@@lilly2alex No not yet 😂 I see my midwife in the morning and if my cervix is favorable I am going to request a membrane sweep! I'm almost certain I've been having prodromal labor/false labor going on 4 days now. I'm a first time mom so all this is new to me. It's very exhausting for me mentally and emotionally, physically I am still doing well. Praying baby comes soon tho. I have one more week before I will schedule an induction!
@@lilly2alex Thank you for asking tho 💕 it's been a difficult week for me....
Well I hope all goes well for you too! Can’t believe you’ve been going through this for a week now!
37 weeks on Sunday.... I'm so done, just waiting for baby to be done.
So grateful to have found your channel somewhat early in my pregnancy. 💖 Now about to be 33 weeks on Monday and I’m so ready for this baby. Loll. June can’t come soon enough! 😊

39 weeks and 4 days 😭😭 first baby , just mucus coming out , kinda impatient and worried
@@madaiflores7200 hey! Did you gave birth until now?
It is normal we all have been like this but the moment you meet the baby deserves every thing
My water fully broke at 19 weeks and THANKFULLY, i didnt deliver my twins until 28+2. I did have to stay in the hospital from 24 weeks until delivery though. Worst and most terrifying pregnancy ive ever had! My twins are doing amazing despite being 12 weeks early and having VERY little amniotic fluid. They are now 4 months old (1 month adjusted)
Aww glad everyone is healthy ◇
@@ingridleask4236 thank you ❤
Congrats, mama! Glad they are doing great ❤️
Congratulations
Twins are usually early as there is 2. But that’s super early. My mum had my twin sisters on time at 40 weeks exactly. She was due to get induced and the night before her waters broke. Anyway congrats on your babies hope you are all doing well x
39 weeks tomorrow with my first! so ready to get this baby OUT and meet him! your videos are so helpful!! 💛💛
I’m a first time mom. I’m having twin boys within the next 8/9 weeks. I’m glad you made this video. I been having pain but I typically just deal with it. It normally hits hard at night🤦🏾♀️

31+6 weeks and I'm due 2-21-21 with my second. My first will be 7 in January and he has induced ta 41 weeks. Praying this one is natural. So excited!
I had irregular contractions till my Baby was born 🤣 short and irregular contractions. And this Baby was born in an intact amniotic sac 😅😊
does that mean your water didn't break??
@@user-pk1bb6nf1q yes. Exactly.
I think I’m in the latent phase of labor. My contractions quit and start back up, but each time they’re stronger and stronger. My hospital says this is normal especially in early labor
So... What happened?
Brittany I still had to be induced😂 I was in early labor but not progressing like I should be, my constructions wouldn’t stay steady so I was induced! Baby just turned 3 months last month on the 27th❤️
@Moa Ipi thank you! I was in fact in early labor but I wasn’t making much progression so I got induced at 39+3! Had her on April 27th of this year❤️ she’s doing amazing, crawling, pulling her self up on things, eating real food super well, loves her big sister! It’s been rough but still good!
Most people I know say, you would know you’re in labour when your water breaks, but from watching lots of labour videos and stories. Not everyone water breaks😅 am living all in gods hands. Baby will come when ready 😌
"Distract until you can't anymore" 😅 Yep. I was in labor for 28hrs at my house before we left for the hospital.
Woah that's a long time
With my 3rd baby I had no contractions at all until my water broke and he was born about an hour and a half later.
Definitely listen to your body, if I had waited 1-2hours of the painful contractions he would have been born at home. 😬
My contractions were irregular for hours, so I waited for them to be “regular”... I was 7 cms when I got to the hospital. So obviously those irregular contractions were moving things along. Every experience is different.
Same thing happened to me twice! With my current pregnancy I've talked to my new provider about that experience and she says in these cases she pays more attention to intensity over frequency. So hopefully that helps me get there in time with a farther hospital!
I personally could never wait that long!
This is baby #7
And they have all been so different!
My first I didn't feel any contractions, ever. I was induced and I had to watch the screen to see if I was having them!
With my son I went from 7cm to him on the table in 2 min. The Dr. Missed the birth and he was down the hall.. no one caught him.
My last baby my contractions were never regular, they were 2min then 7min then 5min then 3min the entire time. The nurses didn't know what to think😆
I am definitely not text book when it comes to labor. But I have known every time that "this is it" when labor has started naturally.
I'm 35 weeks right now and definitely nervous but patiently waiting! Wish my water would just break so I could comfortably go in lol but it never has before on its own... we will see!
Until you cannot ignore anymore, this line is perfect to knw exactly when to go , this will be my cumpos
40 weeks today and just waiting for the baby to finally come out 💖🥰🙏🏻
I guess cause it was my first experience, but it took me until I was in full-on active labor to know for sure that I was in labor. And then I got to the birthing center and I was fully dilated and fully effaced. Yeah it is funny to look back on. 🤣 I regret not going in sooner. But everyone is different!
If I had waited until contractions were 2-4 minutes apart I would have had my baby at home. 😂😂😂 I 100% questioned whether I was in labor or not. I was having very uncomfortable period like cramps. I didn’t want to take a chance and went to the hospital despite not being sure. My cervix was checked at 1cm when I arrived. One hour later I was at 10cm and pushed out my baby in 30 seconds. I’m now in my 3rd pregnancy and will definitely not being laboring at home for any amount of time to say the least. 😂
I am 37 weeks pregnant with my first baby ♡ I am so excited, tired ,sore back and have had morning sickness through my whole pregnancy so I can't wait to finally have this beautiful baby boy in my arms ♡♡♡
I want to be pregnant forever 😄but I'm kinda in a waiting mode now (38+5 today)

Sarah, I'm so grateful to you. As a mom who had a traumatic first experience, Ive never been able to get past it. Your videos are so calming and reassuring.
How tf am I supposed to know if my water broke. Like I pee myself all the dang time lol
Edit: okay.. now that I know what it’s like when your water breaks.. ima tell y’all women who are not sure.. believe me, you WILL know !! Lol
Still waiting at 39 wks and 2 days. No signs of labor, contractions ect. Just want him out and here 😩❤️
I had really bad food poisoning and once I recovered my contractions started. I thought I was dehydrated went to my appointment and my doctor ran test everything was fine and I was not dilated. I had a baby 2 days later. My contractions were 1-2 minutes apart I was in denial went grocery shopping in so much pain and ended up droving myself to the hospital.I had a successful VBAC🥰 only meds I received were pain meds and antibiotics.
amazing congrats
I’m 40 weeks on Sunday & I just want my baby out 😫
I’m 40+3 today! I feel ya! Hope we both start soon :)
Well I have 2 kids I slept through out the day thinking it was just normal BHC until my water broke then I realized I was in labor 😐
I had very very mild cramps
When I grow I want to be just like you... ☺️I had a crazy labor.. contractions non stop because baby was malpositioned. Birthed at home and loved it.
1st baby 🥰 Due date Oct.4,2020 ❤️❤️❤️
hope everything is going well❤️❤️❤️
How did it go! Xxx
I waited until my contractions were 2 minutes apart 😭 was 8cm when I got to the hospital🥴 think I was cutting it close
XxKIKIBxX that’s perfect!
how long after did you give birth?
elle 2 hours
XxKIKIBxX wowie i’m 40 weeks in 2 days and i want to wait home as long as i can i really don’t want a c section 😭
elle 39 weeks and at that point I was so ready to meet my baby so i was like “bring on the contractions”😂 but distraction is defiantly key to laboring at home
If I listened to this with my first birth, I would have had the midwives showing up after transition! My contractions at the beginning of labor were around 50sec and 7ish apart and transition happened fast. Took my body under 5hrs to hit 10cm with my first.
On my fourth baby I lived 30 min from the hospital. I felt things were happening but as usual when I transfer from home to hospital things slow down in intensity. I was sent home and then kept in touch with my midwife, I still couldn't tell if this was labour and then my baby was born at home. It's so hard for mothers to know for sure! That part I find hard because as birthing mother's we try to trust the experts rather then ourselves. It's super confusing!!
34 weeks with my third & ive been having nonstop Braxton Hicks & lots of period cramping 😩😩😩
Watching this as I'm due on Friday with a big baby boy and Im so ready to do this and not be pregnant haha.
As a first time mom, your videos are super helpful when no one really tells you anything about contractions and labor, besides a 5-1-1 rule. Currently 39+6 and going through contractions, still able to do things and distract myself through them.
Anyelyn Encinosa good luck!! So soon!

Gave birth yesterday 💙 5 days early! 12.12.20 👶🏾
Congratulations
Congratulations that's my mommy born day.
It's funny you say contractions need to be strong. My husband made me go to the hospital with my last one because they were frequent, but I didn't feel they were strong at all. Maybe like a mild period cramp. We got to the hospital and it turns out I was 10 cm dilated. My water broke as I was going through transition, and I pushed my girl out (2 pushes) 5 mins after. So... Also listen to your partner 😉
I’m not even pregnant anymore and I still watch your videos😂
haha love you for it!
Same. I'm 46 years old and wayyyy done having babies but I can't stop watching. 🤩
thanks for this. very helpful. first time mom, 40 weeks pregnant and hoping this baby will come soon.
Thank you for this! I’m due this month and I definitely only want to go to the hospital when it’s actually time
How did it go! Xx
I was induced with my first and had a cs with my second… praying for a vbac with my last bubba. I came across your videos today and they were so helpful for what to look for re: active labour because although I’ve had two, I’ve never actually gone into natural labour.
I'm 38 weeks, its my 2nd, I can't wait....I usually feel contraction come and go but the back pains as been always constant, and my legs and lamps keeps cramping.. Is that a true sign of labour?
Edited to add that it way be wise to make a video about precipitous labors so that some will even know that they exist? Idk. I may be trigger happy because I’ve had so many.
So, I know this isn’t the case for everyone but, my first labor (and second through seventh) was precipitous. I never recommend a first time laboring mother wait several hours before heading to the hospital. As far as consistency goes all of my kids came within two hours (my second and fourth within one hour) and my contractions were not exactly as consistent as they should have been for what’s considered “real” labor. With number five, I was sent out because my contractions weren’t consistent enough and they didn’t think I was progressing. I arrived at the hospital dilated to a three. They sent me away, I sat in the parking lot laboring for ten minutes and came back in just in time for my water to break and her to come flying out in an elevator.
Like I said, I know this isn’t every case and precipitous labors like mine are pretty rare. But, for a first timer I do (even with the quarantine) recommend at least going in to get checked when you notice a pattern and you can’t talk through them.
I was a first time mom and had contractions but they didn’t hurt as much as I expected they were 5 min apart and when I went in I was 6 cm dilated I honestly thought I would be turned around but nope 4 hours later I gave birth
Wow lucky
I hope it will be as fast for me as well. I keep seeing posts of how it will take forever for a first time mum and I really don't want this
@@ladyras i feel you
Girl, you crack me up with your ending bloopers 🤣
I’ve asked this the last video, hoping you answer in your next C&Q🙏🏼: do I HAVE to go to the hospital when my water breaks? Or can I wait at home for contractions?? I want to labor at home as long as possible, and DO NOT want to be induced, so long as baby and I are healthy.
Listen starting at 3:00 in this video! 🥰 I would call your provider if your water breaks, just so you know at what point they want you to come in. But you should be able to labor at home for a while.
soiwaitforyou Thank you for your response! My OB gave me the green light to wait up to 24 hrs but with strict instructions to take my temp regularly and if I ever felt pressure to come in right away as apposed to waiting for “all consuming” contractions. Basically what Sarah is saying, she’s so smart 🤗🙃
I really wanna experience my water breaking at night and like waking up my husband to tell him our little girl is coming 🥺 I pray I don’t need to be induced or have my water broken.
That's what I want. I was induced with 2 of 3 of my babies but my water did break on its own at the hospital with my son. With my daughter I had silent labor I only went in because I just new and I was at a 5 and 3 hours later still no contractions but there she was. So I have never got to feel real labor. So we are quit curious how baby number 4 will announce him self. 5 weeks togo.
That’s what happened to me with my first. Water broke in bed and woke my hubs and was out the house in 30min and my son was here 3 hours later- no medication/epidural (as I wanted) and I’m 34 wks now so I’m hoping she gives me enough time to get to the hospital. Praying my water doesn’t break in public…or…at work. 🤞🏾
@@RealEstateWithRenita so funny I made this comment two weeks ago! My little girl came an entire month early on 8/5 at 9:57 am due to severe preeclampsia developing extremely fast within less than 3 days time! So emergency c-section it was! As a first time mom, mine went so fast. I was pushing within an hour of my FIRST real contraction that I could really feel. They checked me thinking I had maybe gotten another cm and instead I was fully dilated and baby was coming down and then were panicking trying to get ready.
It was shocking for me and them 😅

Getting induced on September 23. I have been having braxton hix with him but looking forward to holding christian noah in my arms.
As always, thank you Sarah for your videos. They clarify so much for me. I had a cervical exam done last Thursday morning and started spotting on Saturday morning. Then, it kinda stopped on Monday...BUT on Tuesday night I started bleeding very light pink and with little things that I'm assuming might be pieces of plug. It's been 8 days since my cervical exam, so I don't think it's from that anymore. I hope its actually me getting closer to labor day as I am 37 weeks - it's my first child.
You are glowing today. Your skin looks very good
I’m 33 weeks with my second baby and it’s been about 5 years sense I had my first and I have forgotten how everything works so this is very helpful. 😂
I'm exactly the same 33 weeks.. With 2nd she's 7 and I feel like I've gone back to the beginning again lol xx
Same 😂
Pray for me guys my due date is tomorrow and don’t even have any pains. I just wanna meet my baby boy😭😭😭
i have this trickle feeling but when i checked, im not wet at all. its so weird. im 39 weeks pregnant today
I’m 34 weeks and water trickles quite a LOT randomly today and since 30 weeks . It’s not pee. It’s like while I’m walking . So no that isn’t always true.. it’s just normal not necessarily “water breaking “ if your trickling s gush of fluid that’s not pee.
My sister in law had something similar. They said it was her back waters as you have front and back waters apparently. If you haven’t had your baby yet you might want to mention it next time you see midwife, though it is probably all good 😊
The fact that I need this is cracking me up. I'm on baby #3 and unless I have back labor again (did with my first two), I really don't know what to look out for 😂🥴. I'm due December 15th so realistically baby can come anywhere from Thanksgiving to Christmas 😬
So because of covid i DID NOT want to go to the hospital unless I knew I was coming home with a baby. I started getting contractions at 4pm and had them until the next day at 3pm but I couldn’t get passed 7-10mins apart I had been up all night because of the contractions not to mention I was past my due date and was frustrated cause I just wanted my baby already so I called my midwives and they asked if I wanted to go to the hospital or come in and they could check what I was dilated at. Of course I said I wanted to get checked because there was no point in going to the hospital just to get sent home. So sometime in between getting our bags and dropping off my 5 yr old with her sitter (because kids aren’t aloud at the hospital right now) and driving to the office my contractions started to speed up. Once I got there I noticed i was having them 5 mins apart my midwife came in to check how dilated I was we were making small talk and then all the sudden her face changed she stopped talking mid sentence. Looked at us and said “omg your dilated to an 8 almost 8 1/2 we gotta get you to the hospital” and as she saying this all the sudden MY WATER BROKE AT THE OFFICE ! (Thank god we brought our bags just in case) they sat me up helped me to the car and I just kept crying asking if this means I can’t get an epidural aha 😂😂 my midwife looked at me and said honestly with this being your 2nd baby I’m more worried about you getting to the hospital because things can speed up a lot quicker when it’s your 2nd child. Then she tells me about 3 different times from helping me out of the office to the car not to push if I feel the urge to breath through it. I got to the hospital had 4 nurses in my room doing different things one was helping me get changed another had me signing papers while one was putting in my IV while another did the covid test on me about an hour and half later I pushed for 20 mins and he was out 🙌🏽 both my labors I was in labor for 21 hours but this 2nd one I would have to say was way easier and I think it’s because I did most of it at home
First time mom, 37 weeks today and I’m so confused, don’t know if I’m having contractions or this baby just moves too much , it hurts 😩😩
Thank you for your video! Very informative ❤️
What was it? Did you go until labour? I'm in week 37 (36+4) and also a first time mum and totally nervous about labour.
For my second child I had regular contractions that never intensified but came every 3 minutes. When we got to our birth center they were irregular but I was 7cm and baby came 2 hours later. Glad I went because I'd have had him in a car otherwise since they never intensified until transition.
I just had my baby on the 30th of April naturally and my labor was not like my first at all or textbook whatsoever.
My contractions were semi-consistent but I had to sort-of keep them coming (walking, standing and moving hips side to side, rocking on a birth ball) if I just relaxed, my contractions would stall out.
Labor lasted 11 hours (with semi-consistent painful contractions), transition was about 30 minutes, pushed through 4 contractions and had him within 10 minutes after getting put on the bed. I burst about every blood vessel in both eyes (they told me to push as hard as I could do to baby’s heartbeat lowering substantially with every contraction) so I did.
I disagree with the “all-consuming” contractions being a sure sign of labor. Most mamas using hypnobirthing or hypnobabies won’t feel it like this at all because of the relaxation techniques used. They could be fully dilated and still able to smile and carry on a conversation.
I agree. I was 7 cms at home and didn’t know it because my contractions were irregular. I recorded a home video saying the baby wasn’t coming just yet and got my 3 year old daughter ready for Pre-K 😂 it’s not always all-consuming.
that is wonderful to hear. :)
Being induced as we speak and having to go back and forth to the hospital. Ughhh😭😭🤕
This is my 5th baby and it has been 11 years from the last one and this one. Labor is taking so time
Sarah, you are such a blessing for sharing your knowledge to the public and taking time to make these videos! You have been such a great help! 💙
awww thank you so much you're the best!!
Watching this thru my contractions haha
So like you said I’m staying honest to myself and I’m in early labor .. hopefully I progress and baby comes today !! 39 weeks +5 days

First time mom

Can you be my nurse when I go into labor lol bc I have a real fear of getting someone I don’t like and you are comforting
I’m 35 weeks praying and hoping for safety and normal delivery. God bless to all Moms
Good luck girl , I’m due this June as well 😅
@@sahraabdi8020 are you having a boy too? 😍
I’m due June 11th and looooord I just want this baby out neooooow!!! I’ll be 36 weeks this Friday 😬
@@briannacherry235 I am 36 weeks and 4 days my doctor is planning to schedule induction delivery by 37 weeks I am excited
I.m 35 weeks and 1 day but yesterday night my water brakes and I dont feel any pain is it ok or i must go to hospital
I ignored my contractions until I passed my mucus plug took off to hospital right away and baby was born 30 min after
First baby born 8/20/20
My contractions were consistently 40 mins apart then 15 mins then 10 for 10 hours. Then I had one at 7 min and I went to the hospital (they felt horrible I thought there is noooo way I am waiting for 5 mins! Lol). By the time I got to hospital (15 mins later) they were 5 mins apart. Checked me out & I was at 4cm. 30 mins later they were so completely unbearable and never ending. From the start my contractions lasted for an average of 2 1/2 mins. Next, they rolled me down to the delivery room and I puked and had a BM. Then I got the epidural and 3hrs later I was at 10 cm. I pushed for 2 hrs and 50 mins. The last hour my contractions were about 6 mins long and they had me pushing 2x in a contraction. No tearing, no cutting. I was up going to the bathroom 2 hrs after delivery. Shout out to to those who go natural-i could never. My contractions were ridiculously painful, especially at 5 mins and less. But once the epidural kicked in it was smooth sailing.
Hi, Sarah. I am watching you from Eastern Europe, Czech Republic. Love your acumen & passion! I am a first time mom & just started week 30. Sending you hugs.
All pregnancies are different because I was having very small and minor contractions and thought it was the Braxton Hicks and 4-5 hours later they were more uncomfortable and still thought nothing of it and finally my water broke and it took minutes for my contractions to be 2 min apart and by the time I got to the hospital I delivered my baby within an hour and wasn’t able to get the epidural because of how quickly my labor escalated and that’s how my baby boy was born in a flash
I don’t agree with going in just because waters have gone, we want to minimise exposure to hospital germs in that case, so staying away makes sense to me. This also avoids unnecessary time pressures and interventions. I know two ladies who waited beautifully at home for four days. There are self care measures which support safety at home.
I love how you acted out how you’d be in a contraction because it was so believable. Like .. that’s the mood lol I’m on baby #6 and still question real labor contractions but when it comes.. you will know lol
When I showed up to the hospital, my baby was crowning 🤪🤰👶
Needles to say, my labor process was only a couple hours from start to finish. But I had been praying to God for a fast delivery. Won't He do it! 😂
I hope mine goes something like this lol
@@karaniqueskorner yeah, I had watched a news story about a lady almost having her baby in her mini van as her husband was trying to get them to the hospital. She said they had prayed for a fast delivery but didn't realize it would be that fast. After that, I started praying for a fast delivery too. God comes through. 🙏
Well let me start praying, because my last baby I labored for 3 1/2 days and I can’t go through that again lol
In Australia now they send you home even if your water breaks, they’re more concerned about time and duration of contractions haha
It is amazing how one can give birth and go home with her baby the same day in the US and in parts of Europe the hospitalization is 3 days for normal delivery and 5 for c-section.
Yeah also here in Germany..😥
In the Netherlands, you may go home within hours if everyone is doing well.
2nd baby , 36 weeks and I'm still binge watching these videos. Been having bouts of INTENSE practice contractions that go away, for about a week. Labor progressed quickly last time; so I'm hoping this time is fast but hoping I'll actually know if it's real.
I know your comment is a year old but I'm curious to know how your 2nd labor went? Was it fast like your first baby? Im 36 weeks as well and my first labor went super fast also. Hoping for the same with my 2nd 🙂
What if it’s your third pregnancy? I heard it goes faster. I’m more terrified for my third pregnancy than my previous ones and I can’t find anyone doing videos on those concerns I really hope I can get an answer. I can’t quit crying I just don’t want to have the baby before I get to the hospital. If you can do a video on third or more pregnancies please do it! You explain everything so well.
