This lovely piece does not play itself, but needs the right artist. What a musical soul you bring with you. My (previous?) benchmark was Van Cliburn at the White House.
Jun Luke, this is the best rendition of the Widmung that I have heard! I have listened to you play this no less than 25 times and never tire of this gorgeous piece. There is no doubt that you put your entire heart and soul into this music. Thanks so much for sharing!
This is an amazing rendition Jun Luke, so full of feeling and romantic sentiment ('affect') in the right sense. I keep coming back to your performance because it gives so much consolation.
superb! most interpreters RUSH and play this SOOO fast and destroy the essence. You have caught this exactly as it should be played, wonderful! Do you have a soprano to sing this with?
OMG, I didn't know Mark Wahlberg played the piano - and so well! Sorry; couldn't resist. But this is a fantastic performance - one of the finest I've ever heard, and I've heard a great many!
@@junlukefoster4683 You are very welcome! You played it flawlessly. It's my most favorite composition. I actually closed my eyes while you played to absorb every note. Have you ever heard a piece that was so beautiful that you get goosebumps? This was it.
Loved it, Jun Luke! I think I even picked up a redistribution trick from you ( Why didn't I think of that??) Although, if I might add, I believe I heard somewhere the more respectable way to play this piece is in a tank top...
Thanks Matt! You know, I seem to recall seeing/hearing something about that too, in an excellent recording. I’ll just need to work out more to get on that level
for me, Vlassenko's playing of this is the BEST of anyone. I like this also but it gets a little too showy and looses the intimacy in the last section.
@@junlukefoster4683 True but this was a love song to Clara, his wife, written especially for her. I don't find it sad at all. I hear love and tenderness. Robert and Clara loved each other very, very much.
I can listen to this piece non-stop! Seriously, this is the most beautiful sound on planet earth!!!
I have listened to this piece quite a lot, still, tears welled up as I listened to yours. Thank you so much!
I always cry when I hear this piece. Such deep feeling and inspiration by Schumann,
and in this case, played superbly.
An amazing performance. So beautifully musical and phrased so lyrically. A wonderful talent.
Your talent is truly a gift, and I feel grateful to have had the opportunity to witness it!
Beautiful performance thank you

Smooth and subtle !
Belle interprétation de ce chant d'amour, sobre, naturelle, dénuée d'artifice. La plus proche du chant que j'ai entendue.
Thank you for this beautiful performance
And thank you for the kind words
Beautiful !

Szuper!!!!❤
Beautiful playing you are so talented
And as Horowitz apparently said; "it's a funny thing the more he practises the more talented he seems to get" !
My heart sings with joy.

Why is this song sounded blue and sad?
Most of the beautiful music that's been written is at least somewhat sad, and most sad things at least somewhat beautiful

@@lovevivaldi They had to endure many hardships, waiting and criticism before they got married. The lyrics also say "you are my pain."
