    Currently I'm learning to play this piece, and I really love the speed of your playing. Many of the renditions by other pianists for me is too fast and passionate, on the contrary your playing is so tender and gentle but with love and affection. Imo, that's what exactly Schumann intended to express to his wife. I will take this as my blueprint (literally my goal) of my practice. Thanks Ms Tiffany 😊

    • @waterfordogs2226
      @waterfordogs2226 4 года назад +13

      +Arthur Catch - you are probably correct. Most people won't play as well technically as Tiffany. Talent is not about the time you spend at the piano. Its something in your heart. Some people are indeed blessed in this way. However, ultimately it doesn't matter +Fire Lotus because music is not about being the "best". It isn't about attaining perfection - what is perfection anyway? Its great that you find her an inspiration. I do too! And that can be a great, positive thing. When it stops being so is when you compare yourself to others in a negative way, i.e. "I'll never be as good...." and stop enjoying the music you make. Its about enjoying the moment when you're in it. No need to compare. No need for negativity. Keep playing....and keep enojying. I wish you all the best

Then I realized that I like them and admire them but I cant stand that I am not one. Then I went one step further and I thought. Don't compare yourself to others, compare with your former self and try to improve. Talent/skill/beauty/.. is not evenly distributed. Easier said than done of course, and ego can be a great motivator, but be mindful that comparing with others can easily lead to unnecessary unpleasant feelings.

    Thank you so much TIffany for doing these little videos. I played for years and then had an accident And injured my right hand and stopped playing ( I got it caught in a table saw) . I was extremely lucky and didn't lose a finger but the damage was significant. That was 2012. Now here in 2019 I have made a commitment at 56 to practice as much as I can and to find a teacher to help me mend both mentally and spiritually. Your videos have really provided a sense of purpose to my playing and though I will never achieve the level of confidence and skill that you so beautifully possess, It's been very warming to see your humbleness to, and love for the instrument, and to see that even a professional concert pianist has trouble with those crazy fingerings and parts. Anyways, wishing you nothing but continued success in all you do . Thanks again :) P.S. Please Come to San Francisco sometime !!!

    I thought that this started out too soft and quiet and had me checking my volume settings. Soon realised that this was your interpretation and have to say that it takes more skill to play it this way. I like it. Led into a nice build up with lots of feels and a strong finale. A wonderful performance.
