Hi Tiffany! I first encountered your channel about 5 years ago when I just entered college. I was studying a Chopin piece and thought your interpretation and playing style was the one I wanted to adopt the most. I've since graduated and am about to enter medical school. One of the regrets I have is not finishing Clair de Lune while I still had the time. Watching your interpretation gives me hope that I may one day be able to add this masterpiece to my repertoire/ list of songs to play for patients. School starts in 2 days and I am glad to have stumbled upon this video by coincidence! I literally just typed in Clair de Lune and what luck! A new version was uploaded on your channel yesterday! Anyway! I just wanted to say thank you for always being an inspiration and thanks for rekindling an old dream! I am by all means sure this is how Debussy would have wanted people to hear this piece ! My absolute favorite classical piano piece: Clair de Lune, by Debussy, who is my favorite piano composer. This piece has so much meaning to me. First copy someone else's interpretation. Then go on without listening to it and playing it on your own for a while. You'll be surprised how different the piece is to the one you began copying, any piece becomes yours after a while.
Hacker0_o ive played it- but i might revisit this piece now and try that, thank you! I hope to find more insight as to how i can express myself through music, not just getting things like dynamics and accents... any tips on rubato? I know to use it in moderation, but im curious since a lot of soloists use rubato even if its not notated, so is rubato also a role in interpretation?
@@mountchoco8174 Now a days rubato is used freely I feel. According to some sources Chopin was against the overuse of rubato, and when used he taught his students to always be on time for the next measure. I feel rubato is a great tool for interpretation but yes it can be overused really easily specially on slow pieces; but really is up to the pianist's interpretation. Whan in doubt I always go to Rubinstein XD.

Thank you for taking me to that faraway dreamy place. Away from the cares of day to day life. 👍❤️🤗☺️🎼
My compliments, one of the best interpretations I've ever heard😚
The way Miss Poon literally "sank" into the chord @ 0:34, I'm melting.....
I'm going to hear you play live one day Miss Poon, there's nothing surer.
One of the best performances on this song out there.
When I feel defeated by my daily life, I come back to this magnificent interpretation. Maybe my eyes don't cry everytime, but my soul does.
Simply wonderfully played, I am overwhelmed by the lightness! Thank you for the wonderful moment.
Claire de Lune to me sounds like a longing for something in the distance that is out of reach. Something familiar but yet you can't describe it... very nostalgic. It gives me very intense feelings of sadness and happiness at the same time.. one of the greatest pieces ever composed :)
Every time I hear this, I breathe a sigh of relief. This piece is SO gorgeous.
I love this piece and you played it amazing💖
Thank you someone who doesn’t rush through the middle
Hearing different musicians play a popular piece in their own way is wonderful.
Depuis quelques années, je suis un de vos « followers ». Parfois le soir, je vous écoute et vous regarde. Si d’aventure vous venez vous produire en France, je serais heureux de me déplacer pour vous écouter « en live ».
Miss Tiffany, you play this masterpiece ever so beautifully 💞
Thank you for this soothing interpretation. God bless you 🌻🙏
This piece will always have a special place in my heart. It always always makes me fill with happiness that tears comes rolling down every time I hear it no matter if its the millionth time. 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹
Yaaaaas so beautiful! You play in such a beautiful sensitive way. One day I wish too play like you❤️
Hmm 🤔. You know what Tiffany? You are one of the few artists that I know of who can coax a New York built Steinway to speak softly and express romantically an artist’s emotion. I see that with your wonderful performance of this beautiful Debussy masterpiece! ❤️🎼🎹❤️👍
I started to learn the piano two months ago and my goal is to play with so much passion and love like you.Thank you so much for sharing this!It motivates me a lot.
Your hair is so pretty, especially when worn like this. Love your rendition of this piece. One of my all time favorites, and I think you absolutely nailed everything about it.
Rolf Very, very brilliant and good playing.
Excellent, very well done, perfect dynamics and tempo. Very emotional and legato when it should be. An inspiration to watch.
The most beautiful rendition of this piece EVER Tiffany simply outstanding
This piece of music will forever have a special place in my heart, as one of the most ethereal pieces ever written.
I have had this video in my favorites for months now, and as this year has been incomparable to any other I’ve been alive for, this video has accompanied me through many emotional times.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for delivering the most beautiful rendition of this piece I have ever heard. Can’t even really begin to explain how gentle and graceful, and so much more, this is.
Helps soothe all of the sadness and confusion, especially now in 2020.
Cheers.
I did enjoy that again. So nice to be able to discover new topics and music over the years. Thanks for the peek into your world.
I’m here from the “Daily Connoisseur” recommendation. This is stunning. Thank you
so many pianists have played this piece, and almost none of them could paint the night sky with harmonies as well as you have. Its so frustrating how few people understand how much this piece changes when you play it as a whisper. Bravo!
You had me at the first note (although I do realize it’s two notes 😆haha). The elegance, patience, and beauty that you bring to this piece is beyond words! Thank you so so much for sharing, I think this is my favorite interpretation yet 💜
that practise right there the most beautiful instrument on earth I used to watch my grandad play this 50 years ago how he would lose himself in the music incredible gift and bravo
i play piano as a hobby and on the 19th of april 2019, i have a piano recital. im freaking out kinda because i havent memorized most of the pieces since most of them are ones i started learning about 2 months ago. this really helped ease my nerves, ill be channeling my inner tiffany tomorrow evening! great video as always ❤️
how’d it go :o
I love the way the water washes over the shore, crashing at times. Very beautiful.
I love your slower interpretation of Clair De Lune. It's sound very gentle and relaxing. Keep up the good work!
My mother was French as her family were immigrants to the US after the Franco/Prussian war. She delighted in hearing/seeing activities and music inspired by her ancestral roots. One such place was the France pavilion at the Epcot park in Florida where Debussy's music was part of the films sound track played in the theater there. Debussy then a "Éclair au chocolat", you have created a time machine here, it transports me to a wonderful time.
There is a lot of sensibility in your performance!! Well done :)
Esta es definitivamente la mejor interpretación de Clair de Lune que es escuchado. Senti y disfruté mucho la canción. Mis respetos y bendiciones.
This is really really good. Im a fan.
I've listened to this piece many times over the years but THIS recording just does something to me...It's like I'm hearing it for the first time everytime because there's something new to feel..
its simply gorgeous
Who is here for The Chic Assignment? ✨
Me 😃
Absolutely beautiful 🙌🏼
👋🏻
I am - lovely choice as ever!
Wonderful! It's like a swan playing the piano.
I've been working on this piece for 50 years. I've played it slow, fast, soft, loud and a thousand in-betweens. She performs this the way it's truly supposed to be played.
One of my favourite pieces of Debussy ! ! ! I like how you played it sensitively, it gives a relaxing feeling ❤️
Every time I hear this music it reminds me of a person walking around Paris at night (of course with moon though XDD)
How much of that is pure technic and how much is just her living this role play as if she was the music itself
Omg Tiffany! It's the best version i've ever heard ! Thank u for inspiring me to back practice piano again! 🌻💖🌻
Most comments are stating this is the best interpretation of this piece. It is a most commonly used comments on any piano video.
Yet on this video. Those comments were genuine. I think I am falling in love already. Thanks for this precious 6 minutes for me to replay it endlessly.
Amo muito essa melodia, amei demais te ouvir toca-la.
Un plaisir absolue de tendresse Mercie Tiffany pour ce moment de sensibilité .
damn those rubatos.... i hated clair de lune for some reasons but when i finally heard ur interpretation my heart just ... loved it IM GONNA LEARN THIS thank you
Did you go ahead and learn it? I'm starting it now and it's a bit harder than it sounds like it would be.
Rubato?
Beautiful. Tiffany is my favourite pianist. She has a featherlight touch and more feeling than anyone else.
i can't wait to get a job and buy myself a piano and then learn this beautiful piece
get a korg sp250. i bought one for $250.
Your hands have been blessed.
She doesn’t listen to the music
She literally feels it-
It's so light and airy. Absolutely beautiful. Love it..♥️♥️
I just learned this piece!
Time to interpret it myself- 😊😭
Great artist, excellent pianist, wonderful MASTER .......I love Tiffany .
Just the right time it was on my recommended page! I am performing it tomorrow.
Good luck tomorrow!!
Thank you! I am performing at Weill Recital Hall!
Wow. Do the stars shine as brightly out there, as yours from here? Don't ever stop playing. Your wonderful. Laurie V.
Excelente!!!!!
Brava! Thank you for this lovely soft and subtle Moonlight
