  • In this video Doctor O'Donovan explains 8 simple but effective ways you can treat symptoms from an enlarged prostate at home.
Other common terms used to describe prostate enlargement are: Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy (BPH) and Benign Prostate Enlargement (BPE). They all mean the same thing.
    What is an enlarged prostate?
Benign prostate enlargement (BPE) is the medical term to describe an enlarged prostate, a condition that can affect how you pee (urinate).
BPE is common in men aged over 50. It's not a cancer and it's not usually a serious threat to health.
Many men worry that having an enlarged prostate means they have an increased risk of developing prostate cancer. This is not the case.
The risk of prostate cancer is no greater for men with an enlarged prostate than it is for men without an enlarged prostate
What are symptoms of an enlarged prostate?
If the prostate becomes enlarged, it can place pressure on the bladder and the urethra, which is the tube that urine passes through.
This can affect how you pee and may cause:
    - Difficulty starting to pee
    - a frequent need to pee (especially at night)
    - difficulty fully emptying your bladder
What are lifestyle measures you can use for an enlarged prostate?
In this video we discuss a range of different conservative lifestyle measures that can be done at home to manage the symptoms of an enlarged prostate gland including reducing alcohol consumption, double voiding and bladder training.
You can also use medicines and there is a surgery available for an enlarged prostate, however I will cover this in a separate video.
    WHEN TO SEE YOUR DOCTOR:
Talk to your health care provider about your symptoms, even if they don't bother you. It's important to find out if there are any causes that could be treated. Without treatment, the risk of a dangerous blockage of the urinary tract can rise.If you can't pass any urine, get medical help right away.

Hello doctor, I know this is stupid, but in 2019 I had a testicular torsion. But I didn't tell my family about it because I was ashamed, I experienced all the symptoms. and the torsion that started in my right testicle first, happened in my left testicle 2 weeks later, and again, I didn't tell anyone because I thought it was something that would pass to my family. Now I'm 19 years old, I'm ejaculating, but I don't have sperm, I don't have hair on my face and my family doesn't know about it yet, because my mother is sick and my father is absent, I haven't told anyone, do you think I can have a child?
