Hi, I'm 65 years old and have had BPH for more than 10 years. My doctor is keen for me to have surgery, but I'm not.
I saw your video 6 days ago, the next day I purchased a zinc supplement, taking 60mg each night before bed. 2 days after starting I noticed the urgency to urinate had gone and I only had to urinate 3 times a night instead of my usual 6 or more. 4 days after starting zinc I slept through the night; I haven't been able to do that for years!
I have found my urinary flow has greatly improved and I'm not experiencing interrupted flow any longer.
I'm amazed at the result, but I'm more amazed by the speed of the change.
Thanks doctor, you have given me my life back.

    • @MichaelPEaves
      @MichaelPEaves 2 года назад +12

@@rogerdavidson6236 Yes it really was that fast, the form of zinc I was using was "Zinc citrate dihydrate" 2x 30mg tablets. I was using the "Caruso's" brand, but I believe the form not the brand is important.
After a few weeks I had used all the tablets in the bottle and my wife purchased another brand as "Zinc glycinate" and my dosage was 2x40mg.
I found that over a week or so the symptoms came back, I went back to chemist and repurchased the original tablets and a few days later the symptoms started to subside again.
I'm still not certain my dosage is correct and intend to try to optimise the dosage over the next few months as the symptoms are greatly reduced but not completely gone. The urgency to urinate is once again completely gone however.
      I hope this helps.

There is a lot to this statement. Having junk in one's system preventing absorbtion. Stop the junk, zinc levels increase with a clean diet.
On a tangent, there are combination of minerals/vitamins that need to be taken together. Vitamin D supplement should be taken with a meal that has some fat in it ( avocado, butter , bacon, etc ). Iron absorption is aided by vitamin C. Antiinflammatory Tumeric is absorbed better with a little black pepper.

A little over a month ago I watched your video on foods to eat to reduce or shrink the prostate. I had blood work done and my PSA was 4.16, so the urologist said come back in 30 days for more blood work. After that visit and watching your video, I made sure I added these foods to my diet. I had my 30 check up yesterday and my PSA was 4.15. I told the doctor I was working on shrinking my prostate with my diet.
He rolled his eyes and said, what a waste of time. He more than once said that my numbers are not that high, he wanted to schedule me for an MRI, I said, since my numbers are not that bad, give a year and let me continue working on my diet. "OH NO", was his reply. So now I have to go back in 3 months, I can tell he already annoyed with me because I will apparently be seeing a different person when I return.
I will spend the next 3 months shoving everything down my throat that shrinks a prostate, (except oysters, I can't do that).
I am always amazed at how little a doctor will work with you at trying to improve your health. If something is broken, go to the doctor to get it fixed, if you want to learn how to live a healthy lifestyle, watch RUclips!

He also gave an interesting statistic regarding consumption of lamb (the other red meat) and lower instances of prostate issues in the Mediterranean region where it is highly consumed. Turns out that Lamb... is high in zinc. But a much better alternative to beef. Bingo.

Interesting video. Although Dr Berg indicates what can reduce the bodies ability to absorb zinc he misses out the main element - how do you detect what levels of zinc you have in your body?. Are zinc levels in blood / plasma indicative of levels of zinc in the prostate? This knowledge is essential since too much zinc can also cause issues with zinc / copper imbalance.
Definitely need a part 2 to this video to give much more valuable information.

I’ve been taking zinc and cealis 5 mg daily for over a year. No real changes. Just once in a while I feel better like shrunken and other days it’s enlarged. I found an external prostate massager that help’s reducing the size of prostate. I’ve been taking saw palmetto, pumpkin seeds, pygem, beta sisterol and a few others. I don’t ejaculate much, had a problem with erection but I’m on my 9th week of using “the phoenix” which has helped a lot! I’m not done with the program yet but it has helped a lot! I’ve heard prp or P shot helps too!

Seriously? Has this "doctor" actually looked at medical studies? First, studies found that vegans have the highest testosterone levels. Second, legumes have HIGH levels of zinc, but without the health penalty of meat. Red meat in particular increase your risk of cancer, heart disease... essentially all kinds of nasty illnesses. Problem is substance inherent to meat, such as animal protein, and it's not just low quality meat having problems!

All the males in my family, as far back as we can trace, had enlarged prostrate, and death from prostrate cancer. I am 69, cancer free and an occasional bout with BPH. When I stay strictly on my normal foods for the past 15 years, that being lots of green veggies, other veggies, lean red meats, eggs, clams, mussels, shrimp and chicken, no alcohol, no processed sugars, no super spicy foods, and no caffeine, and very little dairy, BPH goes away. (Also very few grains and no breads) I am convinced that what a man eats, especially men with the genetic blue print for prostrate cancer, determines the health of the prostrate. I have a mild dairy allergy. These are the items that will cause me to have a bout of BPH, in order starting with the worse: Alcohol, dairy, sugars as in candy, super spicy food and caffeine. I have tested these items in my system for years now and basically leave them alone. Interestingly, I also use an app to track my vitamins, minerals, proteins, fats, etc. and my daily zinc intake is more than the RDA. btw, I take no meds. One final item, since the prostrate is somewhat basically a muscle, I added a lot of core exercise to my workout routine. Good luck and best wishes.

Hey Dr. Berg, this is a trip! I take zinc supplements (perhaps not enough) as well as colloidal minerals, I eat organic beef (only 1/2 lb. per week) I eat tons of fat (mostly olive oil and nuts) I eat very little grains and am not on any medication. My prostate, though, is enlarged and does effect urination, etc. and is a cause of some concern. I appreciate the discussion this video has spawn - perhaps my stomach acid level is very low, and maybe I need to start taking Saw Palmetto. Thanks for putting these videos out!

im in almost the exact same boat...couple of things
i went on full keto for a month, no more than 50 grams of net carbs per day, after a month my urine flow; while not perfect, was Muuuuch improved...you have to cut down all carbs, not just grains, i only say this because you mentioned 'grains' but no other carbs ....also i've read that foods like grains, nuts, dairy and spinach inhibit zinc absorption , which sucks because i snack on walnuts and cooked spinach is a Huuuuge potassium source ...i also noticed that when i have even a small amount of lower sugar ice cream from Publix, it seems to affect (hurt) my urine flow pretty fast, so there is something to be said for carbs and dairy messing with the prostate / zinc
gonna try straight liquid zinc, and take it as far away as i can from anything that can slow or stop the absorption
      hope this info helps

FYI, I was taking tamsolosin and dutesteride for enlarged prostate proscribed by a physician who only took my word that I was getting up at night to urinate. No PSA test, no digital exam. I took these pills for a year and had no improvement at all. I have since stopped and also decreased my coffee consumption and guess what. My getting up at night has decline to about half. My guess is if I quit coffee entirely, getting up at night would stop. I’m 78 years old and I love coffee so I’ll just call my bathroom trips exercise and go on.
