    Very insightful Malcolm. I was struggled in this kind of hook movement. That in to out movement was exactly my problem. Love your videos!!!

    Brilliant video, I have cured my odd hook with the irons but it still rears it's ugly head with the driver every so often, definitely going to try the follow through part at the range, thanks!

      Hi Matthew. That's great to hear! How did you go with using this drill?

    When I first started playing I was a big slicer over the top guy couldn’t close the face. Now i’m a overdraw/hooker close the face too much 😪 nice video!

      Hey Bryan. Well, it's great to hear you've fixed the slice. Perhaps the ideas in this video may help you get away from the hook and somewhere back in the middle of the two extremes.

    I noticed this seem to be my problem , but for some reason my body feels better with in to out path, i will work on this driil & then trust it

      Thanks for watching, John. I hope it helps. Even if it turns your hook in to a nice small draw.. that would be great! 😁

    for me it doesnt work your drill.To stop hooking the ball, I keep the clubhead slightly open, weak grip and most important on the down swing the torso hips,legs and arms are all in sync and rotate at the same speed.If on the downswing I let the arms pass the hips then I hook immediately the ball

      Hey Stefan. Happy to take a look at your swing to see why this might not be working for your hook. dannymalcolmgolf.com/online-coaching/

    Same with driver?

    • @dannymalcolmgolf
      @dannymalcolmgolf  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yes :)
      You could also try teeing the ball lower with the driver if you're struggling with hooks. Often times, a lower tee will encourage a player to swing a little more left, feeling like you're hitting a low fade, and thereby neutralising your pattern. I hope that helps.

    Heres my problem. I have a over over the top swing withe closed face so hit massive duck hooks....how donyou fix that with a worry of trying to dwing inside and hooking it even more

      Hi. I would probably focus on clubface first, in this instance to reduce the hooks. Although, a lesson with a good coach (online, or in person), should help you get to the root of things and advise the best steps to take

    now I'm in between, sometimes fade, sometimes draw, sometimes snap hook, sometimes slice ...... AAARRRRRRGGGGHHH. I guess I'll just aim down the middle

    • @dannymalcolmgolf
      @dannymalcolmgolf  4 месяца назад

      Ahhh, that's a tough one Keith. It's nice to have a stock shot where possible. Perhaps try testing yourself in practice. Eg 10 fades to a designated target, vs 10 draws. See which gives you the best results currently, and play with that at the start of your next round. Choosing correct aim points off the tee and approach. Good luck!

      Try to cut the ball - strong left hand grip, right hand slightly on top of the left thumb, close the face at address, & open your stance. That’s the set up. For the swing: swing slightly out to in and feel your right hand cut under the ball. As if you’re playing ping pong one & you want to cut under the ball for backspin…. You should see the ball flight go left to right. This all assumes you’re a right handed golfer.

    Does this drill also work for the driver and fairway woods??. I usually don't hook my irons as often as the driver and 3 wood.

    • @dannymalcolmgolf
      @dannymalcolmgolf  3 месяца назад

      Yes. It will still help give you the feels to moving the swing direction to the left, and having the face open to the path. If you’re a hooker, and then can find the impact feels for a slice, then you can work it back to somewhere in between that is functional for you and your preferred flight. Hope that helps! Danny

    I like this and struggle with an inconsistent hook or excessive draw. Your drill may be the solution for my hook.
