    Sat in front of this video I just tried the start of my typical 7 or 8 iron swing. You are right - my first move with the hands is towards the screen. I'm turning my shoulders and body before I drop the club into the downswing. Before this video I've tried closing the stance right, weakening the grip, and leaving the club open at address all in attempts to stop this miss way left that creeps into a pressure shot to the green. So now I'll reset all my tweaks back to normal and try out this hands first drill. Thanks you for this observation.

    Per usual Coach, loving the vid! I’m just glad they’re all online so we can always come back to this! This has been creeping into my swing so I need to give this drill a go!!!

    This is undoubtedly the best advice I’ve received for this type of miss. Super clear synopsis with a fix that works! Keep up the great work, thank you. 😊

    Great video, that’s my miss and if I also have closed face, the dreaded pull hook happens. Keep up these informative videos.

    @6:03 so so true!. For me I have to feel that the club head was falling lower than the handle at the start of the downswing to get the club to get on plane halfway down. Feel versus real is a real thing

    Thankyou Thankyou!!! I have been struggling terribly with pulls and pullhooks because of hand path, getting steep etc etc. Been doing these drills in the garage and can’t wait to hit a few in the studio at my golf course tomorrow!

    Ironically had a lesson today, and my Pro said exactly the same thing, once i applied the altered hand position on the downswing, not only did i stop pulling, but my strike improved.

    This is what I've been struggling with. Tks. My journey went from big slice to 10yrd draws. This looks promising. Off to the sim tomorrow.

    I had a moment at the range the other night I was pulling every iron left.. I start to try and throw my club to my right - around 20 degrees through impact. This worked. Watching this video just realised why thank you 🎉

    Pure quality coach, that's my iron striking to a tee, (pardon the pun🤔👍!) No matter how much I try to aim more right, I still drag my 6 & 7 iron shots especially, off to the left..🤔🤦🏽‍♂️? Straight down to the range tomorrow and try this out.., thanks👍👏👏!!

    Magic Coach, just magic. This fault had crept into my game and sure enough hand path for me was causing the issue. Drilling this one tonight!

      Tried this last night. Incredible how much just this simple swing though fixed everything! Went from swinging barely I-O or even O-I to 4 or 5 degrees I-O. Got the tight little draws back. Just brilliant sir. Thanks so much.

    Seen Rosey do that indeed, but if anything it looks like a pump drill, I can see him watch backwards checking if he retains his wrist angle. Or is he checking his path? Never thought of that

    from 1 to 10, what pressure do you apply on your grip? is this the same for iron ans driver? merci 🤙🏻🤙🏻

    • @CoachLockey
      @CoachLockey  3 месяца назад

      You swing driver faster which means you need more grip strength on the grip to slow the club down. Faster you go, harder you need to hold.

    If I hit my irons the correct distance, I miss to the left. Otherwise, they are high, straight, and 20 yards short.

      What a strange comment. Do you think he would have invented a completely new drill? Golf has been around for a long time and most drills have been invented many years ago. What he is doing is highlighting the cause of a pull and he’s trying to help players who suffer from this. As for your comment? Well, nothing new my friend! 😉
