Hey Dave new aspiring Videographer here, just picked up an X-T4, Crane 3, Shure Powered Top Mic, and a cage ! I'm super interested in creating a style for myself but would love a tutorial on creating SEXY Luts that have a vibrant yet flat tone similar to yours. Maybe a tutorial on Luts?
There are a lot of very expensive "professional" anamorphics that have the same issue with that desqueeze thing in some shots but no one complain. As soon as someone is coming up with an affordable solution everybody is nit picking. That's my comment on potatoe jet's video.
Pretty sweet little lens. Just used it to shoot a short film along with the 50mm on the XT4 and was really happy with the way it turned out. Used plenty of diffusion which helped as they are fairly sharp. Thanks for the video.
SECOND ONE!!! Anamorphic on a budget has also made a video in which he mentioned that the squeeze depends on the focus. Im not hundred percent sure but i guess the 1.33 is measured at infinity. At closed focus distance it's 1.25. Btw beautiful footage!
yep, if your gonns use it in a film, use a printed out perfect circle on paper with your slate and then you can desqueeze to make the circle perfect every time.
so here is my question. I have never filmed with a manual focus lens before. How easy is it to pull focus on this lens, I will use the in camera manual focus tools, but is it easy enough to keep the image in focus as I move the camera away from me and back towards me. I love th idea of an anamorphic image. great video btw!
Sirui is playing the role of technical disruptor quite well. There has never before this time existed a single focus anamorphic lens solution of this quality. I own all three, and can't wait for the rumored 85mm version! I'm also anxious to see what other companies do in this new budget anamorphic space that Sirui have created! #Subscribed
I'm considering either the 24 or 35 for recording guitar videos for my channel. I usually have my gh5 about 3-5 feet away for a tight shot. Would you recommend one over the other for my situation?
@@BretSnyderMusic either one works, but the 35mm has a bit more anamorphic character to it IMHO in terms of subject separation. Both are good with lens flares, with the 24mm producing noticeably more flares.
Good day. Please tell me how I can connect my sirui anamorphic 24mm 2.8 MFT to the Red Komodo camera or to the BlackMagik 6K? The first camera has a Canon RF mount, and the second has a Canon EF mount
This is the one for me and my G9, GH5 rig😎 Nive review, sharp footage, love the micro contrast of this lens .... and you're not a real Filmmaker unless you've shot Anamorphic Super 8 Film, with 16mm projection lense, back in the day 🍺
Very nice interesting video on this lens! As a stills guy only, I was wondering what your opinion is as to whether this lens is suitable for stills landscape images, ie. especially in terms of image sharpness at around f/8 - 11. Thanks!
@@ZachMayfield thats what I loved about the opening shot of Skyfall!where Bond jumps into frame very out of focusand slowly walks up to the camera , but slowly gets into focus by the end of the hall he is walking up to the camera!
because it only has a 1,33x squeeze, it's not really a problem. just get used to how the composition is going to look and you're fine. Pulling focus is no problem.
I was really looking forward to this lens, but I'm concerned about pairing it with the other lenses I' ve got. Probably gonna stick in the Fuji juice only lonely hearts club band🇯🇵
hi, Thanks for sharing this, after watching your video, i got myself Sirui anamorphic 24mm, and done some footage test in this ruclips.net/video/4ZNmG5dN5Uc/видео.html , over all good lense, will be shooting more in future, Thanks for sharing
What do you all think about this lil' bad boy anamorphic? Peep it here - geni.us/SIRUI_24MM

Thank you.
3:00 it's called "Anamorphic Mumps" and it's because of the distortion, at minimum focus you'd have to desqueeze at 1.25x and at infinity 1.33x
So we need to have a table of focus distances and desqueeze factors to refer to for every shot? That sounds like a lot of work...

that "anamorthiqq" joke on its own makes this video deserve a million views

Just found your channel and subbed after this video. Really digging the short, funny and to the point reviews, keep up the good work!
Great video.
Does it breath while focusing?
Oh the 615! Beautiful shots in my backyard. Nice
Also nice kendama tricks 👌

Stay in your lane
Beautiful images for such an inexpensive lens. Nice review... Love seeing Nashville on RUclips.🎥🎞🎸🎻🎬
Dude your reviews are my favorite. When the worlds not on fire let me know if you ever need help on a video.
Dear Zach, can you please message these people back and tell them we want the 35mm also in x mount. Anybody have any success modding that???
I guess the slightly wider desqueezed image may due to the x-t4 native 17:9 ratio ... just guessing.
Great review, images look great!
the black bars isn't a big deal even Roger Deakins does it because i guess he likes 2.35 but doesn't like anamorphic lenses.
ARE YOU STILL NASHVILLE BASED ?? I PEEPED THE NISSAN STADIUM IN THE INTRO .. i know this vid is old but i hope you see this comment
Nice! But the autofocus is working?
This lens is all manual

I want one so bad but I'm unemployed and RUclips doesn't pay much.
dude I feel you! I would say just hold off then, I'm really sorry to hear about your struggle my man
So how do you shoot with it if your camera does not have the desqueezer??
Good question...
I believe the external monitor has a desqueezer.

@@kylosalvesen agreed! It's not impossible, but if you have access to a monitor with de-squeeze it'll be much easier :)
@@ZachMayfield just curious can focus peaking or any other focus aids work with the Sirui on the XT4 alone or on the Alamos when desqueeze is on?
Lets be honest, I have no intention of buying this lens, I just came to see how creative this video is. Keep it up bro!
bruh I really appreciate that support
Anyway, those long shot footages are amazing :)
I was really looking forward to this lens, but I'm concerned about pairing it with the other lenses I' ve got.

they make a 35 and 50 anamorphic too, get all 3 for about 2500
6:15 is how I want all of JJ Abrams's's's's movie flares described...
hahahhaha
Sold at "metal" but yeah other than even for the price point it sounds quite good! Not that I can afford anytime soon but still
Wow.. i should having this a particulary lens😳😎👍
imo this video shouldn't be exported in 16:6, but thanks for making it! :)
are you Based in Nashville?
maybe your face is fat not because of snickers but because it's 24mm and slightly distorting your face?
Sir you eye. Seer youie. Ser youeee
Sooo-ray
