For launch control to work....Sport plus mode, transmission in sport and traction control one click. I think its dynamic TC. Foot HARD on the brakes and full throttle, You should see it pop up on the dash, launch control. 0-60 is what it should be, little colder than where I am but mine will spin in first. Also I'm on 19s, not the 21s
Well Eddie, I live in SC and currently in Arlington VA right now real time to pickup 2016 X5M silver with every option, perfect service records, only 2 owners. Does have Dinan rear exhaust as the only mod I know of. Has black wheels, "orange" leather interior. Has been through complete maintenance/inspection to fix anything and update service needs. 50% of my decision came from watching your channel when you had your X5M. Thanks for all the insight and real reviews. I was between RR w/V8 and this, but figured I needed to experience the X5M first. I would always question myself if I didn't get one. Thanks Eddie
As always, excellent video. Tested both GLA45 and X3M40i ended up with 2023 GLA45 AMG, it was faster, better handling and better looking. I got it for $56k. BMW was $64k, similar spec. AMG unfortunately has a factory problem. A batch of the coolant and some sand from the cylinder head casting were left over in the coolant system. Now my glorious M139 engine can't heat up cos of the thermostat problem/coolant temp sensor. It has been at the dealer for 3 weeks, MB USA and AMG Germany are aware and nothing. Dealer has 2022 GLA45 buyback with the same problem, it is not fixed. What a disaster. I wish I can go back in time and buy X3M40i.
Hindsight is 20/20. Both are good options. We were considering the GLC63 for a long time. The GLA is going to be a fun toy. Sorry about your engine trouble. Hopefully they get it resolved soon!
@eddiemcars Just bought 2024 X3M40i....with all options except parking package. I like it. Lost 1k in the trade, but I have no nerves to deal with MB buyback and wait 6-7 more weeks.
I've tested a couple of X3/X4 M40i's (stock), and my best 1/4 mile has been a 12.39s @ 110mph, sea level, about 80 degrees outside. On average it's 12.5s @ 109.5-109.8mph, from launch control. If you just go off idle, it does 12.8s. I've done a 12.5s in +90 degree weather in my X4 M40i. I wonder why your trap speeds are so much slower.
It could be the fuel quality here in California. We only get 91 octane at best and even then compared with 91 octane outside of Arizona, California, Nevada. It’s a lower quality. I might try again with Boostane or a splash of E.
@@eddiemcars Try that! You also have 21" rims and I have 20" rims, but I wonder how much difference that makes. Should be an easy 12.5s run. I've done even better than that on mine. It can easily run a 12.7-12.8s off idle.
Great video man love your M40i! One thing, are those exhaust pops on upshifts real or pumped in? Can’t hear it from the outside but it’s very loud in the cabin…
I love my X3 M40i. I remember when your wife n I got our x3 a month apart. Mine was dec 6, 22. Mine is a lease , also my dealer was trying to get in the i5 M60. It’s too expensive for the insurance ,and the level 2 charge install at my home was $1300. I hate electric but I was going to give it a try. I got way turned off with the insurance and the dealer wanted to end the lease early but I know my payments would have been higher. I did enjoy that i5 M60 I was very intrigued.
I’m still curious about the i4. Maybe once BMW switches their charging port over the NACS I’ll consider trading the Tesla. I still enjoy the gasoline cars more!
@@eddiemcars yeah, I like that i4 M50, but I am with you. I love a gasoline engine… to hear the power and the changing of gears , revs, pops and bangs etc lol, But I didn’t know that the insurance was that high for a electric vehicle
This is my car exactly. Excited to see what you do. Do you plan on dynoing? I doubt it has the hp they state. Feels too fast for the size of car with 382 hp
@eddiemcars I'm considering X3 M40i with the B58, but seeing a lots of reports of the seats being super uncomfortable. Have you done any longer trips in the X3? Do you find the front seat padding adequate? Thanks!
I will report back on this in a few weeks. I’m taking mine on a 1300 mile road trip at the end of the month. I’m 6’4 350 lbs and so far I have no complaints.
Engine sounds great. I was sad that I don’t hear the upshift farts anymore like the previous gen. I can hear it from the inside but it’s artificially pumped through the stereo.

Thank you! I’ll try that next time!

You didn’t go wrong! I still miss my F85!
@@eddiemcars I absolutely love this vehicle and see why you miss yours.

Eager to see this same vid with the Range Rover Sport! Great vid!
Me too! I wonder what it will do in the 1/4 mile 🤔
Stage 1 with 93 oct tune can boost the M40i's power by an incredible amount. can't wait to see you run that car tuned.
Maybe once the warranty is over!

The x3 look like the x5 E70 update.
The X3 has grown a considerable amount over the years!
Dump in 2 bottles of Klotz octane booster…no mmt booster..the only one I think..won’t foul plugs

Thanks! I thought the same thing but with the LCI, I’m pretty sure it’s pumped in which is disappointing :(

What are your thoughts on a Jb plus

Oh yeah! To run this kind of 1/4 mile time as an SUV, This has to be like 420 hp!
Any updates on your wife’s X3? Is she enjoying it?
Is it just me or did yall hear a little turbo spool on that launch?
I definitely heard it!
@eddiemcars I'm considering X3 M40i with the B58, but seeing a lots of reports of the seats being super uncomfortable. Have you done any longer trips in the X3? Do you find the front seat padding adequate? Thanks!
I think it’s comfortable. We haven’t taken it on a road trip though but no complaints.

We’ve had ours for 1000 miles (1,600km) and I’m a bigger guy, but don’t find seats uncomfortable. Maybe little stiffer, but not bad.
These just don't sound as good as the pre-LCIs man...those were straight nasty stock. I know same engine and all, but they've toned down the B58
