- When you steam, make sure you cover the lid of the pot so the water doesn’t drip down. - I suggest to use a shallow bowl or container to contain ther mochi batter when steaming, so it is easier to fully cook the mochi. - For the coconut milk, stir it before you scale the amount to add into the batter. Because coconut milk has 2 parts: 1 is the clear water and 2 is the white thicker liquid. If you don’t stir it, you might add too much the clear water, not enough the white thicker liquid, so it can be a reason makes your batter is watery. Hi I made this and the mochi batter was so watery even after steaming for twice the amount of time indicated. Not sure what happened
