When you say “steam it” how do you do that? Is it some kind of double boiler set up? Or are you putting it in the oven with water? Do you have a different video where you show that step? Love the idea of this and really want to try it 😊
You can also cook it in a non stick pan. Pour the batter in, med to low heat and with a spatula stir it. It will become thick , stir and fold until you get a smooth dough..
She puts the plastic and pokes holes? Well, You can put it in the microwave for 30 seconds stir and repeat until is cooked or in a double bath a pot of hot water under the bowl and cover it making sure the bowl with the mochi mix fits for the steam to cook it.

hmm maybe the flour you used wasnt the one needed? i mean, to make mochi you need glutinous rice flour. and when i made mochi for the first time i had bought wrong flour, it was called “rice flour” (it wasn’t “glutinous”). so i’m guessing that the flour was the problem. i hope you understood what i was trying to say since english is not my first language lmao and good luck with your mochi!💪💪💪💪

The dough may taste slightly different if you cook it in the pan, but I actually prefer to cook it in the pan, its much more to easier to handle. Make sure you add in the butter while you cooking it in the pan.
