I can connect my 8bitdo Ultimate Bluetooth to my iPad Air 5 (M1 chip). And the secret is to put the mode switch on the Bluetooth option, turn on the controller and hold the pair button for 3 seconds. The pair button is near the USB-C connection.
It's unfortunate that the Ultimate Bluetooth doesn't have Apple support, makes no sense that the cheaper Ultimate 2.4ghz has Apple support - but then doesn't have the Hall Effect sticks.
@@magsol76 I'm confused as well. They say the Ultimate Bluetooth controller is only compatible via Bluetooth with Nintendo Switch. I will ask them to clarify through Support.
What do you mean by ‘support’? The back buttons on my 8BitDo Ultimate 2.4G controller don’t work in any game, and there is no software available for configuring the controller.
Since the update, I've tried four or five different Steam games and NONE of them responds to my Pro 2. For some reason I can use the gamepad to navigate Big Picture mode, but actual games don't see it at all. MacBook Pro 18,1 (M1 Pro), macOS 13.3.
I have an incredible Samsung 8K TV on the way. And this is the controller I'll be using with it. Especially excited to test streaming gaming services with the Ultimate.
Is there any prediction on when, if they intend to, they will release an update to fix the drift that occurs when connecting consoles with the controller plugged in?
I can switch to either to input mode D or X to get the bluetooth connection with my MBA M1, but why not input mode A? In my opinion, this is not really Made for Apple! I am a newbie and are more than confused... Are there any useful guidelines available on how to use Apple devices (MBA, iPhone or iPad Pro)?
Huh, I've been using my Pro 2 on a M1 Macbook Air for over 6 months on Android mode (with OpenEmu, Duckstation and AetherSX2) and X-input (Flycast). I had not idea that Apple wasn't officially supported? I thought the "A" just stood for Apple since it set up fine 😂
Rn I have the 8bitdo for sn30 pro for android, I’m trying to use it for games but rn no game I have will recognize it. I have the latest version of IOS
I'm having the same problem with the Ultimate 2.4Ghz controller. I updated the firmware, it connects via bluetooth, but every game I have tried does not recognize it.
Works when it wants to with USB wire (Random Loss Connection), Never was able to Connect 2.4g Wireless (PC). Looks Fancy, but is just Ultimately Unreliable. 8BitDo needs to Do Better.
Right, tried 5 MacOS optimised games that support both controller and M3 chips, controller worked in none of them. Had to return two back. "Apple supports" my ass. Waste of time and money for MacOS ... and the support is only LIMITED so say that to the final consumer ...
Random Disconnect issue (when using USB wire connection) is caused by switch on the bottom. When set to 2.4ghz, it is able to jiggle or something causing some unknown connection or disconnection to occur. This has not happened with the switch set to the other side. Basically, poor quality QC or components causing random disconnect... you're welcome 8bitDo found the design flaw for you.
@@aitoyukik8537 Maybe not, but it would still be nice if they supported, but I do agree they should release another M30 model with support to more modern games
