One minor correction I have to make Lon: on iOS devices with the lightning connector, it is possible to use these controllers in wired mode. The catch is you need to use one of Apple's lightning to USB-A camera adapters (I use the Apple adapter that also has an extra lightning port input for power). It is also possible to plug in any USB hub this way, and then use your 8bitdo controller while plugged into the USB hub, alongside any other USB devices. I've used that kind of setup on my iPhone 12 for over a year with minimal issues. So if one cares about input latency and doesn't mind having to use such a dongle, this is the way to do it.
I just bought it today and i wasnt expecting anything about ios or ipados and found this video. Tried it on my ipad 10th but the led circle blinks non stop on my ultimate c. Did you manage to connect on ipone. I cant try cause i dont have an connector for my lightning@@Josuh
THANK YOU Mr Lon! You have been a blessing over the years. Helped and informed me on so many products.Worth every penny of my youtube premium membership.
Great review. Among 8BitDo, Xbox and PS5 controllers, which one do you guys use with iPad? I saw the news Mac is supporting more controllers now, but not sure if anything changed with iPad OS17.
The only thing that sucks about the wired connection to the controller is the buttons are mapped differently, so just fyi, you have to map them on the iPad to its correct place. Bc when I put the controller to Bluetooth, it recognizes the buttons perfectly and no need for remapping
Did this fix the input lag when the 8bitdo controllers are connected to an apple tv? It used to be VERY bad, even navigating the home screen (highlighting different apps), it would lag 1 second or more. It was a real dealbreaker when trying to play games on the apple tv. Could you please test this out? Thanks in advance! Reference to the input lag: ruclips.net/video/-CXqfaQtTJQ/видео.html
I'm really confused because my 8bitdo sfc 30 pro has been working since iOS 13 on iPhone. You just ran it in x-input mode and it works with everything. I'm android now but I thought its been officially supported for years.
@@Pipsispite that's true. I guess that's what official support means. I'm glad though, I think apple should support as many devices as they can. It helps everyone.
Mine works, but not perfectly. The only issue I've had is that the triggers don't work lige they should! They work like on and off, not linear. I'd love some help, cause I love car games, like forza, and it's completely unplayable like that. Sorry for any gramatic errors, english is not my first language.
Hello , once i paired 8bitdo with my ipad, later with my macbook it is not pairing even though my ipad is off. I tried "forgetting device" in macbook and later tried to pair, but its no more connecting to my mac.. Please do guide me on this, unable to know what is the issue. I am new to 8bitdo
@@LonSeidman guys chill out I know lon, it's a regular question I know he has a lot of controllers because he's a reviewer and it's always covering the best subjects about technology and gaming

I wonder if the Ultimate C would work this way, it doesn't show iOS in its compatibility list but still

Hey lon, been waiting on your review of the ultimate Bluetooth controller from 8bitdo, is there a plan to take a look?
Great review. Among 8BitDo, Xbox and PS5 controllers, which one do you guys use with iPad? I saw the news Mac is supporting more controllers now, but not sure if anything changed with iPad OS17.
Can you connect 2 8bit controllers for multiplayer game emulation?

Any Luck if the developers dont make the game compatible for bluetooth controllers that the direct connection through USB-C would work ????
Can you update the controller from the iPad or do you need to have the macOS instead of the the iPad os?
Does haptics / vibration work when using this controller with iOS & macOS?

Thanks you!
I didnt get it
And yet I still can't get my Pro 2 to work on my Mac properly. It shouldn't be this complicated.
Is your macOS updated? How about the Pro 2 firmware?
Does it work with 8bitdo arcade stick?
Negative only the controllers listed on their compatibility page.
Thanks!
