Most of the videos I've seen show people struggling to get the hinge cover back on and eventually just forcing it on. I had trouble with this myself. Forcing it off/on will likely break some of the plastic tabs that hold it in place. These tabs interlock and the correct way to remove/replace the hinge cover is to slide it over about 1/8th inch. Since the frame does not provide space to do that it means you have to do additional disassembly and remove the whole display assembly from the base before removing the hinge cover, bezel and screen.

you are correct! the method above will damage the hinge cover and LCD enclosure.
The hinge cover is more complicated than changing the screen. I got mine broken.

Hi, I just changed mine but can't get the bottom of the black bezel to click in. I see in your video you didn't show removal of the sliver strip at the bottom but you do show yourself reinstalling it. I never did remove that silver strip at the bottom before placing the black bezel back in. Will the bezel click in without that silver piece being removed? Thanks for your help.

No the data won't be deleted. All your replacing is the display screen.

Arya Kumbhhar If you see the end of the video you see that the operating system is loading up and then it’s logging in. That’s the OS from the Hard Drive. Your replacing the display screen. But I would say to be careful with the connections. This model of laptop battery doesn’t have option to be removed from the bottom. If you wanted the battery removed for no power, you’ll need to take of the bottom plastic then unplug the battery for safety. But that is your option.

Hello! My laptop have the i5 8250u and Nvidia 150MX.
My screen it's 1366x768. can I replace it with the Full HD?
The issues is not based by the processor or the graphics that much. It depends if the make and model (example I had a: Dell XPS L502X). I was able to support it but it did needed a special cable to replace the current one from the screen to the board. Not including of buying 1080 screen. You can find out if it has the support from laptopscreen.com

i found a video with the proper way. You remove the display before removing the hinge cover. It slides to the side and comes off.

Be sure what the resolution would be. Most likely it would be 1366x768 and you need to choose if you want it glossy or Matte the on the glass.

Is it that you want to upgrade to a higher resolution? It would all base on your laptop if it supports it. You can find out other support on model at laptopscreen.com
FHD is short for Full HD, which means the display has a resolution of 1920x1080.
IPS (In-Plane Switching) is a screen technology for LCD. If your laptop is not IPS then it will likely use a TN (Twisted Nematic) panel. Compared to a TN panel:
The IPS screen will display consistent color regardless of viewing angle
In case of a touch screen, an IPS panel will not show "tailing" when touched
An IPS uses more power, is more expensive to produce and has longer response rate than a TN panel
Therefore, you cannot simply compare IPS and FHD, as a laptop display can be FHD and still uses IPS panel.

@@sanithmc9638 Yes you can upgrade it. The cable should support the screen. The cons would be the battery usage, and the graphic working harder for resolution. (It may very on the cable, I had to upgrade the cable on a Dell L502X)
