Have ever heard that where ever there are ball bearing (like the wheel bearings), it is preferable to "slide" the axle (especially the front wheel) without subjecting the bearings to any form of impact? Impact is the main cause of bearing failure...
Fyi to the community. Acetone will strip the lacquer off that Showa uses as a protectant. Much easier than sanding it off. Beware that unless one clearcoats the polished aluminum the lowers will require constant maintenance less the aluminum will oxidize again.
I’ve seen a few that does it and they look good guy up the road from me use to detailed bikes and did that on request I bet these guys that does the big truck aluminum could probably do those in 30 minutes are less yea a lot of any type of polish like that usually truck stops and big truck chrome shops has it too
Good video. I did the same to a 83 ironhead with aluminum primary case included. A breakdown would have been nice too

looks great 👍🖖
All the fast forward gave me anxiety
Way too much work and then maintenance after the fact.
Not worth the work as it will need constant attention. Been there and done rhat. Put on chrome forks and be done with it.
don't really care for the speeded up video- i gave up watching after a couple minutes.
