I've upgraded my exhaust on every Harley I've owned, but have decided not to upgrade the exhaust when I get the 2024 Road Glide. After test riding one and feeling the power the 117 has...think I'll stick with stock. Not only because the power is already there, but also looking to use it exclusively for touring and not really wanting a louder exhaust for long trips.
I just got mine a month ago. Said the same thing. Ended up with slip ons because of 3 near misses where people almost ran me off the road because they weren’t paying attention to their surroundings. Tabs 50 cal with zombie baffles. Got them off eBay discounted. As it sits everything about the 24 rg is perfect. Got the slipons for safety. Other than that I have a real hard time swapping anything out to “make it mine” because of how perfect it comes stock
@@StruddleToaster I have TAB Performance on my Softail and really like the sound of those. I will likely do the same, but hopefully won't feel the need right away!
You're spot on. Fix all of these factory defects and the Harley Davidson is a pretty nice motorcycle. I will admit, I test rode the 2024 Road Glide. I must admit the company is giving you a much better starting point than in the past. The seat is ok. The power is pretty good. The bars are good. If you needed to change them, the bolts are right there. It still needs slip on mufflers but they have to make it quiet from the factory to be compliant with government noise regulations.
My biggest gripe with Harley at the price point is the necessity to upgrade the suspension which to me is a big fail on their end!!..the other upgrades pretty much an option per every individual's liking..Ride Safe😊
On my Sport Glide, I did the exhaust, pegs, mirrors, derby cover, LED halo lighting and a quick release backrest for the wife. My Triumph Street Triple, a tail tidy, exhaust, bar end mirrors and engine guards and some red anodized bits. My Triumph Tiger, lower engine bars, hand guards and a top box so far.
Of the items you listed the only thing I had to do, on my 2022 Heritage, was add a quick release removable trunk / sissy bar with rack, also quick release. I left everything else stock. Exhaust. I'm done with being loud. The seat and handle bars are very comfy. Very versatile.
I purchased a 2022 Road glide limited last year and I’m happy with what it has. The only thing I might add is some Rinehart slip on exhaust. I always hear about upgrading the suspension but I don’t see any reason to.
Could you imagine having to replace the seat in your brand new car to be able to sit on it for more than an hour? They've been allowed to get away with that BS way too long... My Chieftain seat ain't the best but it's at least acceptable.
Your car seat is fully adjustable. I don’t know of any popular stock motorcycles that have this feature. Considering everyone has a different build, everyone is going to need something different.
@@ElMontro1992 73% of Americans are overweight. I would guess that percentage is higher yet for guys that buy Harleys. Seems kinda stupid not to build your bikes for your market doesn't it? Expecting guys to loose weight to make their seat more comfortable isn't a very good marketing plan... Lol, here's the scenario... You walk into a Harley dealer, talk to a sales person and sit on a bike. You say; "The seat isn't very comfortable." Sales person says, "Thats because you are 100 pounds overweight and Harley seats aren't made for obese people." Yea..., that's gonna work real good...
Bit of mild work to my triumph bonneville classic and it now sounds like a beast! Disconnected pollution rubbish, bit of cam and airbox work. Staintune exhausts, also added a gell seat top. Crashbar with highway pegs, and handlebar risers. Can now do 200 kilometres in a stint with no dramas or discomfort. Aldo upgraded rear suspension to ohlins which was money well worth spending. Riding 50 years and had alsorts in that time (harleys included), but my trumpy tops em all. Reliable as hell, 100 dollar services every 4000-5000 kilometres i do myself very easy to workon bike. Way easier and cheaper than harley maintenance. Love my bonny. Best bikes in the world👍 each to their own. Just my opinion after many years of experience.
You’re bought and paid for but you are at least semi honest! But you are still a used car salesman!! Having said that I have done most of the things you mentioned, so good video, I love lighting because I need it at night to see at night and I believe the more visible you are the better chance you have of surviving, great video 👍🏻 I do however love the Hollywood bars on my 2016 Softail Slim S and Electra Glide Limited stock bars. Been riding bikes since 1965. My first job was my local Harley shop and I rode a Suzuki to work because he was the Suzuki dealer also. Times have changed since AMF. I think Harley is going the wrong direction with the German CEO And board of directors these days. I traded my stock sadly.
Regarding the seat... I got a saddlemen as well. Haven't had a back surgery, in fact I was told by a spinal surgeon that he couldn't help me. Broke a couple vertebrae and they apparently healed well enough.
You are at a gas station, sitting on your bike with the kickstand up. Realize you’re using a dark visor on your helmet at night and have a clear in your saddlebag. You go to stand up and then drop your brand new ‘24 road glide. I felt like an idiot!
Suspention dosent have to cost that much to see a huge upgrade for harley crap, exspcially if your bike came with air shicks. You can get progreesive front and rear for like 500$ or you can pay thousands and get 10% better. I loge about 40k a year on my bike and do it on everything from tarmack to sigle track. With a good seat and the suspention ive never had back problems even on 1000 mile days.
Indian seems to do better on most of the topics mentioned, but there is still room for improvement. I considered the Road Glide and the Pursuit. Decided on the Pursuit. There is a reason why Indian Motorcycle's global market share increased from 2% in 2014 to 13% in 2023. I do like HD, but based on current options, decided Indian was better for me. HD has been investing more in innovation to compete which is good for both Indian and HD. Competition benefits the consumer.
Oh Please, Grow up!! Rarest Harley in the WORLD, is a stock Harley! Though I admit, neither of mine are stock by far, I just don't hate on those that choose to stay stock!
They probably stay stock since they can't afford the upgrades. The bikes are so costly and mthly payments are higher then most car payments. I know it takes me mths to save up for a few cheaper upgrades on my Vrod. Mostly stock other then pegs and handgrip for more comfortable ride.
Sir, you did a great review and I like your list. Especially your style how to explain your point of view. Thank you for the guidance. I had the Rinehard exhaust on my Road King. But in Germany it is illegal, therfore I swiched to Miller exhaust. Good and I can pay it, Not so great voice like before, but legal. In my town, the cops are checking very, very hardly the noise level and no chance😢 Thumbs up and greeting from Germany…
4:27 The stock seat on my 2024 street glide is actually pretty good, It's pretty comfortable and has more lower back support than previous years. Granted its not as nice as a saddleman road sofa but its way better than previous year Harleys. 6:48 because shit happens, there's only 2 types of bikers in the world: those that have dropped their bike, and those that will. 11:00 the saddle bags on the 24 street glides are deceivingly large, my wife and I loaded our stuff in the bags and a duffle bag on the luggage rack and were good for a week. a tour pack would be great if we were going for any longer. 13:15 the bars were the only thing I liked about the road glide, so I have to agree there, I'll be getting 12 inch bars on my street glide, city wise I use that bat wing fairing to my advantage 13:38 I actually really like the suspension on my 2024 street glide and not planning to change it out, set the preload for my wife and I and we were good to go
Pipes are definitely needed. Seat not necessarily because someone who is not overweight the seat is big enough. Extra storage yes if you travel on it. Crash bars are good for safety but don't look good on Dynas, Softails, Sportsters.
I just sold my Hammer. What a sexy bike! I'm down to just my Triumph Rocket now. She's a beast! Victory cruisers were the sexiest bikes on the market. Polaris just didn't market the brand.
When snow is gone, hope to get up on a bike again, hope it will be a Harley. That gut overyour belt is not helping you. With one back surgery, looking at another one, really consider your activities.
I hate to say this but everyone is different, and what your riding a lot of us would not ride , and we prefer running boards not pegs and forward control, and , we don’t like junking up the bike with a radio speakers and extra storage, if you can’t fit it in your saddle bags you didn’t need it !
