I love that they closed with Roulette Dares which is and always will be my favorite TMV track. It really is there all or nothing I miss you soliloquy to Julio.
Enough time has passed we can definitely say that Cedric is in the conversation for the best front man ever right? At least in the top ten. After ATDI played an obscure gymnasium outside of Seattle in ‘96 everyone wanted to dance and dress like these guys. When they started, Cedric climbed on the pa, did a flip off, and started breakdancing on the gym floor to “Ticklish” off their first LP. Even back then their live show was so full of energy and talent that it was staggering.
Got to meet and chat with him once after a show, 2009 iirc, couldn't have been nicer, signed my shirt and made time for everyone who was hanging around by the tour bus lol. Miss him! There is a new album of his material out recently I believe
Omar trying to backpeddle history saying this lineup was the real band. When Eva's dad died and couldn't tour, he replaced her. That's not a real band. It's the Omar show, all the flaws are on you. Don't blame it on the bass player you chose to replace her with.
i just cant get over the original mars volta formation, no other drummer has or will stand to the musicality, speed and dynamics of jon theodore 🛐🛐🛐
Objectively there are other drummers who have better speed and dynamics. Theodore is great, don't get me wrong.
@@PlayOnLetsPlay not for the mars volta.

I'm stubborn and feel like THIS was the true Mars Volta era...De Loused is never going to be topped.
this is tremulant era. Deloused had a different bass player.

Relationship of Command and Deloused are the best of both worlds and just the best
As a Latino myself, I've never felt so touched personally as with their last one. "Que Dios Te Maldiga Corazón" is just what speaks to me.

@KristianRMedina Eva Gardner she played on tremulant and when they first toured again in 2022
I was there. The Anniversary played that night too, right
System broke in the middle of a song. That jumped in right where they left off

Their sound manipulator and very good friend, he passed away from heroin overdose (edited cuz speech to text hates me).@@giovaniespino4630
Jeremy did sound backstage I believe he never really was actually up playing w the rest of the band
