Just purchased the same gun late last week. In California, so waiting for it to be shipped and then the long 10 day wait (DROS). I have some nice handguns, along with 3 Glocks (19, 30SF, and 26), but prior to purchasing this handgun, I bought a HK P2000 SK w/LEM trigger (V2). What a REVELATION! I wont even try to describe the LEM trigger, except to say that the first DA shot is unlike any DA first shot I have ever experienced . . . in a VERY GOOD WAY. That being said, I wanted to also experience the V3 P2000 with decocker. Here's the kicker, I was able to buy it brand new for approximately $600 (price match, plus 1%). In any event, I can't say enough about HK quality, fit, and finish. Particularly impressed because this is not a steel or aluminum alloy gun, but a polymer. You just have to experience it. I love my Glocks, particularly my 30SF, but these HK firearms shout out quality. By the by, great review . . . 'Nuff said.
Great review. I recently got a brand new P2000 9mm v2 LEM trigger. Great pistol. Overlooked, and under appreciated, for sure. The "DE" stamped on the side, is a abbreviation for "DEuetchland." (Germany)
Super informative, thanks for the review! I just got my permit in CA yesterday and picked this gun too! Initially, I wanted the S&W Shield Plus however I’m left handed. This gun is ambidextrous so it’s easier for me. Can’t wait to pick it up and start practicing with it!
My local FFL sold me mine this march for brand new 450. He said "I gotta blow these boat anchors out, they are just sitting here". Needless to say I couldn't say no.
Wow. That’s a steal. I love this pistol but it doesn’t get much love. As far as H&K goes I don’t think this pistol sells as well as their other pistols. H&K makes quality and to get one of their pistols for $450 is awesome. You will be happy with it!
I just got a 9mm 2015 lem model with 3 mags barely used for 350. I just couldn't pass it up, and I did need a pistol for my girls to practice on. I prefer a usp model but this one is close and not quite as meaty,
Just bought one of these in 9mm, V3 13round mag from Cabelas, on sale for $590, went to the range....I love it and so will you, the mag release is very nice. I own a Glock also but thought I’d try something else.
I love the P2000 but I also love my Glock 19. The only thing the Glock has over any DA/SA is the same trigger pull every time. But for a DA/SA pistol the P2000 is very nice and I actually like it better than some of the Sigs I have fired.
Iv owned Glocks for decades. The P2000 and sk variant snatched me away from my living Glocks. The lem trigger pull is the same every pull and has double strike capability which the Glock does not. The HK P2000 lem is the most reliable fastest shooting edc you can own. IMHO
I'd like to note my P30SK DA/SA shoots as well as my P220 and P226 both with DA/SA SRT triggers, the gun really is an "enigma gun" in many ways (Both the P2000 and P30SK). I got a lot of time on the G19 both in and out of the field (and the M9, and USP and 1911). While I prefer the 1911 to this day and am going back to carrying it for duty this fall, I still love my HKs (and SIGs but if I'm being honest I prefer HK, and im kinda weird about polymer guns generally prefering metal. Just like the feel of it.) HK's polymer has a better feel than most other poly-framed pistols I've owned or held and I've owned/held quite a bit and underrated gem is the SIG SP2022 btw
Even though I own mine in LEM and love it, I'd probably recommend the DA/SA to most people, but I'd want everyone to try the LEM, however. I think it's truly superior to a striker-fired pistol for defensive carry, and is an interesting pistol to do compact pistol competitions with against my buddy's Taran Glock 19 (I won, btw, but I have military training and extensive experience with all of these pistols in spite of the eye problem, cross-dominance helps thankfully)
When a bunch of us friends got together to do some shooting I tried the p2000 v3 and I had a really good feeling when i shot it. SO i shot it some more and more...... I actually liked it alot I knew I had to have it lol Ergonomics matched perfectly with my hand and having shot thousands of rounds thru my p30 i knew it was a match. Everything felt comfortable when shooting this pistol, even mag changes were a breeze not being all that familiar with the euro paddle release. Offered cash at first......no luck, so I took a chance and had my buddy shoot about 150rd thru my G26 gen 5 and he was impressed with it and was actively looking for a replacement for his shield 9..........so we settled on the glock and few mags for it. I think it was worth it tenfold...I still have a G26 gen 3 so it was a win win 💪
STILL one of the best pistols ever created. Used on OTJ for years and STILL carry one now that I'm retired from it. Actually rotate between this and my Glock 19 as my EDC.
I got mine last week and it fired beautifully. Very easy and accurate aiming pistol. I like it better than my VP 9 and P30. Shoots a lot better than my Glock 19 too. This pistol needs more credit for its quality.
Shoots better than the P30 how? I really want a P2000, but I kinda want a P30 too even though shooting a rental was the worst handgun experience I ever had. It was hella snappy in .40 SW, my thumbs forward stance scraped my thumbs from the sharp accessory rail and worst of all my trigger finger was constantly getting pinched from the mag release, even when placing as little finger as possible on the trigger. The P2000 seems like it would remedy this. I've seen that it even recoils less somehow than a P30. Yet, I really want a P30 still lol. Why does the P2000 shoot better for you?
I bought my P2000 9mm in May 2020 in the thick of the corona pandemic for $749 new.. It 's stamped CA so manufacturer date is 2020. I feel like I overpaid because the night sight version online is $750 and the 3 white dot is $650 but I like this gun. I bought it in my city and my options were limited because the gun stores were flooded and the wait to get in was long.
You got yourself a good deal! I'm an impulsive buyer and there was only two left and the price was $899.99. No regrets because it was an excellent gun out of the box.
The p2000 is easily one if not the best carry pistol on the planet. The only pistol i would carry more than this one is the HK p30. But because the p2000 is a littlr smaller, the p2000 makes for a better carrybbn pistol.
H&K really makes some great quality pistols. I live in Commiefornia so I can only get the P2000 or the USP models. I love my P2000 to death and I am so glad I purchased one.
Great video I am glad you like your P2K because I sure like mine as well. Ambi slide release, ambi lever mag release, ingenious rear decocker and polygonal barrel durability and accuracy. Also the good looks never hurts... can't believe why it's so overlooked? My next purchase is going to be the SK version.
This and the SIG Scorpion 1911 are my favorite carries (carry this in a V2 LEM .40, I prefer 9mm generally but couldn't pass the .40 up and wanted a .40 in my collection again). I own a USP .40, a P30SK, SIG P220 Carry (love that gun), my M9 and a 92FS, G19, G26. but at the end of the day the P30SK and P2000 are my absolute go-to carry pieces (though my SIG 1911 Scorpion is really winning me over, I love the 1911 but got a bad back so, shoulder-holster carry for me which means re-learning my draw)
I’m look to get my first pistol I’m in California and my choice are limited to a lot of the older stuff the one your reviewing on the list mite be my choice
BH is your year of Manufacture yours would be 17 or aka 2017. The DE is, as others pointed out the Country of manufacture which is Germany. You could also get a extended magazine paddle release. I put it on my USP Compact which is the same gun that you have there. Yours is of course the modern take on it with the ambi slide release, removeable backstraps and the decocker lever moved to the rear.
Thanks for the great video. In my experience, it's not under-rated at all. It's just not a Glock or a Sig. There are too many people that either don't know pistols like they claim to, are given incentives to sell certain guns or are just into the Gucci popularity of firearms. I do like Sigs, yet they tend to be heavy. Glocks are good, just don't like the grips. That H&K though is definitely my next gun list since shooting it.
Very similar to the USP compact except for the safety/decocker on the USP. I personally am not a big fan of safeties on guns and the placement of the decocker on the p2000 is in the back and out of the way. That along with price is the reason I went with the P2000. USPs are very nice guns.
It is like a thinner, more well-fitting USP. You can fit USPc magazines into it, in fact. I bought a few (They fit flush, but give you 2 more rounds in .40 and 3 more in 9mm i believe) it's basically a USP 2.0. You got replaceable backstraps as well. Can't go wrong with either, to me if I got another USPc or P2000 it'd come down to this: Price, and if I really want the LEM trigger (Which is kinda harder to find on a USPc but not impossible). I've really, really come to believe in the LEM trigger VS Striker for a gun with no safety function or DA/SA function.
I have the USPc in 9mm, the P2000 is newer than the USP, it's like a slightly upgraded design, it branched from the USP, however the USP continues to be an amazing gun and you can't go wrong with it!
DE is the country code. DE means Germany Think of country codes like our State abbreviations. Some seem odd to us, because the native name of a country is dissimilar to the English name for it. Everyone got a great deal, I just bought my P2000 for $850. I know it’s pandemic prices but I have been eyeing it for a while, had to get it.
Don’t feel bad I paid ‘bout the same just b4 the plandemic 🙄🙄
I love the p2000 . It’s my main carry piece and finally started shooting it better then my Glocks.
@@thisSiteSucksHard plandemic😂
Just got one for $700, prices are coming down hopefully.
Honestly that’s about the average price, people who got deals on used secondhand stuff.. forget it

I HATE I HATE no just a mom and pop place
I just got a 9mm 2015 lem model with 3 mags barely used for 350. I just couldn't pass it up, and I did need a pistol for my girls to practice on. I prefer a usp model but this one is close and not quite as meaty,
That IS a good deal! I paid $415 for mine USED and thought I got a good deal. Anything HK is generally more expensive.
Good video. I totally agree about this fine model. Thanks for the 2A shout-out. ❤🎉🎉🎉😊
Just bought one of these in 9mm, V3 13round mag from Cabelas, on sale for $590, went to the range....I love it and so will you, the mag release is very nice. I own a Glock also but thought I’d try something else.

The LEM's trigger is surprisingly light.
I was surprised.
It drew blood in my hand web.
Thanks! This video and a couple of others helped convince me to get mine after.a friend was pushing Glock 19.
Its just the right size to do everything. Range, home defense, concealed, side arm for battle 💪.
Just got this as my first pistol 👍🏽 my shop had it for $765 but I found it somewhere else for $670
You can replace your Mag release with a 45c Mag release, it’s bigger, and is a simple modification. I got mine at hkparts
When a bunch of us friends got together to do some shooting I tried the p2000 v3 and I had a really good feeling when i shot it. SO i shot it some more and more......

Vp9 is now cheapest HK you can get. People say the p2000 is better as well
Get the extended mag release. I did and it’s definitely worth it
Nice review on a fine firearm, I didn't know they were even still making them. Mine in 40 is my EDC! love that gun

It’s a great pistol made by a great company!
The SK in 40 S&W is a handful.
Awesome video. I feel exactly the same about mine. I watched your videos as I unwrapped for the first time. Thanks
I appreciate it!

My H&K USP40 is the most reliable gun I own. (Well, I have less than 1000 rounds on my Browning Hi Power.)
This gun is perfect for lefty’s
Certainly is. My wife is a lefty so its easy for her to use in a home defense situation

You really need to add more light so we can see the gun
I'm sold guys!
Good video. DE is for Deutschland (Germany). Makes sense.
Apologies for posting re DE. Just saw others already covered that.
The DE markings denote that it was made in germany
Thanks. German made greatness!
Correct. DE = Deutschland!
Can a .357 barrel be purchased by H&K and used in the .40 version?
DE is the country code for Germany on foreign imports, through Customs.
Nice!
Great vid, you earned another subscriber!!!
Thanks
my usp compact uses p2000 mags they are interchangeable/the same. ;) take care all
Thanks for the great video. In my experience, it's not under-rated at all. It's just not a Glock or a Sig. That’s in depth, thanks!
DE stands for Deutschland (=Germany)
I believe DE is short for Deutschland which is German for Germany
Why hide the serial number? Absolutely nothing someone can do with that information.
"Crisp"...that word doesn't mean what you think it means. I may still get a P2000. My USP40 is easily the most reliable gun I own. I own 3 Sigs.
How would you know his definition of "crisp" he doesn't go over it ever
Webster's has a definition.
The trigger, out of the box, isn't crisp but it is workable. I've been carrying a 40 S&W P2000 for nearly 2 years now. It is soft shooting and reliable.
DE stands for Deutschland which means Germany.
DE stands for Deutschland 🇩🇪 😊
I bought mine for $599 +tax & fees.
DE = Deuchland which is 'German' for Germany. Cheers.
Guide rod is metal or plastic?
metal
Handle? (Grip!) This Guy? (Slide Lock!) ??? Aren’t how to/infovids about nomenclature?
😜 Sometimes when trying to film yourself talking about something, the words that come out of your mouth aren’t really want you meant to say but you just have to roll with it.
DE means Deutschland hahaha Germany
Thanks that makes complete sense now
You say "guys" too much.
I have the USP compact in 9mm, I also have the Glock 19, both are amazing guns! I have a special love for HK guns, I have multiple HK's, I'm a 9mm proponent but I want to try it out the .40 USP or P2000
