Here’s my bottom line. I’m 61 former LE. Iv owned sig 226-220, Glocks Wahlther P99 Essex comp 45’s HK P30L and many other. I have found the P2000 LEM is the finest edc gun I could own. For me a hand gun is a tool to defend my life and or others lives. This pistols natural point of aim is spot on. It’s now the only hand gun I own. It’s the one tool I’ll bet my life on On a daily nightly base’s !!!!
Im 32 and i carry a p2000sk v2 lem every time im not wearing workout shorts! (I carry a glock42 with liberty civil defense loads with workout shorts) hk p2000s are a slept on ccw!
Very nice video. I owned a P30V3 and it was a pretty nice gun. However I actually prefer the P2000 a little more. So I sold it and got a P2000 9mm V3 version. It's just the right size for me as a do it all gun and the thing is very accurate.
Agree with your analysis. Both are reliable, and both shoot well. My preference is the P2000, v2 (LEM trigger) I like the more traditional look of the P2000. Totally dislike the ugly front slide serrations, and is not needed, on the P30.The P2000 does have the LEM version, with night sights, and comes with three 13 round mags. Larger capacity P30 mags will fit in the P2000, no problem. The P2000 passed a three million round torture test, and beat out five other guns tested by the U.S. government. The P2000 was adopted in 2004 as the largest federal law enforcement firearm contract in history, issuing the P2000 to DHS, ICE, and the border patrol. The P2000 record speaks for it self.
Great review I have both as well as the sk in each gun. I am an H&K snob gave up all my Glocks and went with all H&K. For me there isn't a better gun. I also traded in my Colt AR's for a MR556 and MR762. Great guns I enjoyed your review.
Unfortunately i haven’t seen anyone carry the exact compensator that John Wick is on his P30L. I spoke to one manufacturer (EFKfiredragon.com ) that makes it for Glocks and he said he needs to redesign the spring for the P30L, cause it doesn’t cycle properly since the P30L slide is already longer and heavier plus if you include the compensator, it makes it even heavier.
As HK progressed their handgun lineup from the ild venerable USP, to the p200 and eventually to the p30, its as if they improved ergonomics at the expense of trigger pull.
hk fanboy here too. These two are both great guns. I liked them so much I bought two of each-one each in LEM and DA/SA. I shoot both versions well. The p2000s now are
HK fanboy here three. Lol. I already have the HK VP9, P30, P30sk, .45C and the USP Compact .45 cal. I absolutely love this brand of gun. Never let me down, no FTF's and chews up every ammo I've ran through them. I'm picking up this P2000 9mm or .40, USP Compact 9mm and a HK45 next.
I have a USP Compact in 9 mm and a P30 in .40 myself. I replaced the mag release on my USP with the extended one and love it now. Glad you are enjoying both of your HKs.
I picked up a new P2000 for $550 this past week and can't wait to get it to the range! If I like it enough, I might have to find a Sk to match it with :P
Kyle Clark Man that's a great price! I bought my wife her P2000SK for $799 and it came with 3 magazines and night sights. What city or state are you located in, if you don't mind.
Fuckin' awesome! I overpaid for mine (though I made up for it by getting a USP and P30 SK for under $500 each, both safe queens). I paid $650 for my v2 LEM p2000 .40 which is a bit high esp for .40 right now, maybe it had to do wit hthe V2 lem (Which I love, I opted for it over the v1 for carry, also got a SIG p226 DAK and a few in DA/SA, my p30 and USP are DA/SA, my favorite method but the LEM is really, really winning me over) I hope your p2000 treats you well! I had a few hiccups with mine at the beginning but that's only b/c I am an idiot. It functions flawlessly now and HK treated me very well.
I'm now an HK fan. I recently got a P30SK and love it! It's extremely accurate for a smaller gun and conceals so well. More HKs are in my future. Great video as always.
I don't own an HK but fired a number of them throughout the years. Getting use to the mag drop takes a few minutes but not a deal breaker. I am going to be buying the 30 for my next. gun..
just bought my first hk,a p2000. came with 3 mags and night sights from top gun in taylor for $800. it's a great gun. I can see why people say the guns are just as good as sigs. I guess I will add more hk guns to my sig and Walther collection. your review of the gun was a big part of my decision. great review as always.
I have p2000sk lem. But I want to p2000 lem. But I want to keep my sk. Ugh I’ll just get both sizes. Best gun I ever owned and fired. LEM trigger is the way of the future.
Ok FG, i thought I was gonna watch this video thinking i would have to decide which one to buy and damnit i want both! thanks for the video, always informative👍👍
The P2000 is hard to find. It's a touch smaller than the P30, which makes is preferable for concealing. The P30 is larger, although it definitely has the better look. It'll give you John Wick tingles, but it's still just a little too big for my purposes.
Thank you for your review, quick and to the point every time. I own the P2000sk and the P30, both Light LEM DAO models. I also own the VP9 and the HK45 LEM and I'm looking forward to a VP40/45. For anyone that has the P2000/sk the mag release is a bit more difficult as opposed to the P30. A simple and excellent modification is available through HKParts.net. Order the paddles for the HK45. Took literally 15 seconds to install. Perfect fit as it follows the lines of the trigger guard providing an excellent fit and finish. I'm presently using a Kydex holster with the P2000sk. Following the paddle modification it was necessary to trim a slight bit off the holster where the paddles make contact.
TheFireArmGuy, I learned about the modification from another youtuber. I had recently purchased the pistol and was very disappointed with the smaller paddle release. It's amazing the change in my attitude with the upgrade. Try it! I'm sure once you do, you'll probably do a video on it, lol. I'd like to see that!
The HK45 LEM is really high on my list, once I finish paying off my SIG Scorpion 1911 I'll probably be swooping up the HK45 (probably not the 45c though I am eyeing that as well) or a P30 L (unless I go completely sideways and get a Chiappa .357 White Rhino, kinda torn between all of those firearms right now, for different reasons)
Great video. Simple and straight forward. Was looking for that size comparison at the end to help make a decision on the P30, probably going for the SK version since it is a bit bigger compared to the P2000. Thanks!
They are both great guns and I love them both. The only problem I had with the P30 is this that I find the grip too long especially for carrying. Which one to buy? It comes down to personal preference. You can't go wrong with either one.
Those are really nice pistols. Thanks for the comparison. I'm a huge fan of HKs, especially the USP line. I have no experience with the P2000, but that P30 is an awesome gun.
P30 all day long, son! Thanks for the video. I wouldn't count out a P2000 but I think I'd go for the VP9 first just to mix it up. I'd get a P2000 with a lem trigger for the right price, otherwise my plan is a P30 L with a V1 or V4.1 trigger.
Love the P30 and tempted to sell my USP and go for it. The sights and larger mag release as well as the grip options make it a tough decision. Thanks for the review, maybe a comparison of the P30 and USP would help.
When did the get so expensive. I got my P30 for $750 at my local range/shop brand new. Whoever pays $1100 is getting ripped off big time. I also got the HK45 for $825 rand new at the same shop.
P30 was the p3000 an updated p2000 but hk decided to call it p3000. They are really only different in exterior. The p30 slightly longer . I prefer p2000 with back up p30 mags for more capacity .
TheFireArmGuy I recently handled an Beretta 92A1 with Hogue grips that had finger grooves made from rubber. It felt great for a full size. I'm sure the P30 would be similar. Wish I could afford any HK model!
@@zonseeker08well the good news is that you can afford them now because they are really cheap rn, especially a VP9. I got mine for $475 + FFL fee by looking online
I would agree that HK is a little better than Sig but what's funny is I think the P320 is a better gun than the VP9...? But yes overall HK wins me over with their rifles. (For a single pistol maybe a custom sig elite which I'm happy with but yes I would have to agree overall) have a good one! 🔫
I own a few SIGs and HKs and you cant go wrong with either! From an engineering standpoint I'd have to say that HK is a tad better, the USP is superb with the recoil management system and so are the P2000/P30 models (own all of em). SIG DAK and HK LEM are interesting triggers, LEM definitely takes it but the DAK is nice if you like revolvers especially, picked a P226 DAK police trade-in 40 in great shape for $450. Own a P220 Carry .45 but my newest is a SIG Scropion 1911 .45 that is by far my favorite pistol for shooting, for carry the P2000 V2 LEM is my favorite.
Nice review! If only you had a USPc in the mix... I have P2000v2, P2000skv2 and USPv1, USPcv1 all in 9... It's a hard call between the USPc and P2k for best all around gun. They are both awesome platforms that are amazingly reliable and a dream to shoot. I do prefer the LEM for carry purposes.
Two very nice guns but in a price range I would not want to go for in a pistol. After saying that I dare say they are Glock guys who with after market parts have spent similar money.
Thanks for the great video! Does anyone know of the P30 holsters will fit the p2000? I’m looking at an Odin Kompis holster that’s made for the P30 - wondering if it will work with the p2000
The P30 literally is the P2000 next generation. The P30 was designed to be an upgrade from the P2000. The P2000 was created to be the next generation of the H&K USP. H&K is such an amazing brand.
not missing much brother lol I started my HK journey with a p30 and sold it then later on picked up a p2000 v3 and havent looked back, would like to pick up a USP tac/compact but sadly theyre getting ridiculous in price in my area......11/1200+
You know what? I was wrong. I thought you were nuts but now I'm carrying a P2000 V2 LEM., When you're wrong you're wrong and I was wrong as shit. Thank you TheFireArmGuy!
I broke the trigger rebound spring TWICE diddlling with the take-up on the lem, not going to hte break just constantly pressing the trigger up to the break to practice with that long take-up..which I think, well ,KNOW is tremendously stupid now lol.... I dry fire with snaps only and follow-through with it but man I feel like a dingus
update: 1000 rounds and no issues after the fix, HK got it back to me within 4 days! put in a new hammer as well. Gun functions superb and i don't expect any problems down the round. Interesting thing of note, they put in a thicker trigger rebound spring than before, or the one I put in before just wasn't the right one (though I double-checked fomr HK parts.net and it said it was. I'm dumb but not that dumb) Anyway, p30sk v3 and p2000 all function flawless, had a USP .40 I wish I hadn't of traded but it got me a SIG Scorpion 1911 .45 acp (Which I'd be aching for in a bad way) so I'm happy. Planning on another USP full size soon, OR maybe the HK 45, I wish I could shoot a USP .45 and HK45 side-by-side, my guess is the Hk45 feels better being a p30 style, but the USP recoils less.
I will keep my fat usp thanks for the video a lil shooting in the future would be cool. Me and a lot of others want the vp9 my usp has bin a pleasure to own. I would recommend to anyone getting into hk try to play with a LEM tigger job works very well. Stay safe and worm thanks for the video.
I was debating what to get for my next buy, a used p2000 with an AE date code in excellent condition for $575 and it will take my vp9 mags or a used Glock 19 gen3 that is an 01/15 production date
USP 40 is the best HK 2 buy, the recoil assembly is so awesome it shoots so soft and has the most state of the art magazines, some crazy fiber filled plastic that weighs nothing. Other HKs have metal mags, metal on a plastic frame is not good, plus, they are heavy and they just have a plastic buffer with a small notch for the take down pin, USP has a extra spring for the buffer and a big notch for the take down pin that lets the entire assembly move. The HK USP was designed as a 40 cal and is maybe the most high tech pistol out there. Very underated gun. These guns here are nice guns but not on the same level as the USP 40.
I couldn't agree more the USP 40 is one of my favorite pistols along with the P30v3 both of course in .40. The USP will always hold it's value more than the P30 because of the proven record and those who know that HK's manufacturing of all weapons they design and make is unparalleled. Good news is you can own a P30 for around $500.00 more or less. I like the VP40 but it is a little larger than I like and you really don't gain much as far as ballistics go over the P30 and USP. Unless, unless you are wanting a striker fire weapon. IMHO anyway....
3:20 - this is what annoys me when people bash HK for selling "a $1k plastic gun that doesn't even have night sights". They're low vis sights that happen to cleverly carry over into some night sight capability, not weak/lame night sights because of some stupid European law. You want to see in the dark then put a damn light on the thing - it'll work in your favour for the police investigation if you ever have to fire at someone for you to prove you could see what you were firing at and not firing blind - night sights don't illuminate a target.
Hi +TheFireArmGuy did you mean that you prefer the photoluminescent sights over the night sights, or just over the white sights? Thanks. Great review as usual.
It’s to stop the front of the slide from slamming into part of the receiver. The full size USP doesn’t have one because it has a double, round spring setup buffer that Stops it. The p2000 has a flat coil spring and nylon buffer like the USP Compact to stop the impact
I have a P30 and VP9.. they are awesome pistols. I'm considering a trade one of my 1911 for a p2000. I know he p30 and VP9 use the same mags. how about the p2000? do they share the same mags?
Except for length they are the same. P2000SK (10 round), P2000 (13 round), and P30 (15 round) all use the same magazine type. You just can't use the shorter mags in the larger frame guns. So a P2000 can use the P30/VP9 magazine, but not the other way around. Just like Glock.
+Josh Becker yeah thats right. I bought P2000 v3 and it shoots like my p30. it feels a b little different on the grip but it feels the same on hand while shooting.
How's the recoil of the 40 in the p30? I had a usp compact in 40 and it didn't recoil much more than a 9mm. How would you say it compares to the p2000 9mm recoil
Yeah that would be good for an up close assassin. What about something small enough to keep in your suit jacket, yet enough rounds to get out of hairy situation. My personal favorite is the Walther PP or glock 26.
I swear a few years back I was checking out what I thought was a P2000, and the slide finish had what looked like a shiny black finish on the slide. I have yet to see that kind of finish on any HK that I see in gun shops. Any idea what the heck model I was looking at that day???
I was wondering if the mags on HK are interchangeable? I'm looking into a P2000 .40. I like the P30L n prefer it but hard to find in .40. Might just grab the .9mm. Great vid
Only thing I don't like about my vp9 is the luminescent sights. They look cheap and they do not glow at all at night unless charged by light, and even then, they don't glow for very long. Awesome video!

Good man!
I recently bought myself a P30L and I love it! Now only if I can get that weighted compensator John Wick had on his...

MrBawston Thats how I feel too
I got the P30 brand new for $699 last month. Should have bought 2 at that price. Used the savings for a bunch of mags and ammo.
I shot the P2000 & loved it, but the differences you showed make me want the P30!!!
Both are great

I overpay often for guns because I like to spend my money with local mom and pop gun shops.
Your a lucky man to have both!!
Yeah, no doubt! Too high for my price range tho.
CWB1863 I know they are expensive
The Daily Shooter Im a blessed man no doubt
I have a HK P2000 .40 S&W I paid $750.00 brand new, and it came with 4 Magazines! I've never fired it, my go to is my Sig Sauer SP2022. .40 S&W.
Perfect P2000! Love!👍👍👍
+Dinen Cabrera For sure Dinen
Nice comparison. Thanks!
P30 was the p3000 an updated p2000 but hk decided to call it p3000. They are really only different in exterior. The p30 slightly longer . I prefer p2000 with back up p30 mags for more capacity .
I like the finger grooves on the P30
zonseeker 137 I dont know of any other handgun that offers different grip panels
I got mine for $475 + FFL fee by looking online
nice detailed comparison brother
Much appreciated M A
You can pickup a P2000 at CDNN Sports for $579 and Gunbroker has the P30 with safety lever for $699.
Yeah the price has dropped a bit
no demonstration of decock on a gun comparison video of two guns with decockers?
Nice Review!!!
Greetings from Oberndorf am Neckar (HK Hometown), Germany!
I would agree that HK is a little better than Sig but what's funny is I think the P320 is a better gun than the VP9...? But yes overall HK wins me over with their rifles. (For a single pistol maybe a custom sig elite which I'm happy with but yes I would have to agree overall) have a good one! 🔫
Ian Shepherd Thanks Ian
+Robb M I want an HK LEM model too. My friend has one and I love it
Nice job brother. Those guns are really bad ass for sure. Thanks for the share bro
GunCrazy81 Thanks bro I love showing them off
Dan good review thanks my Son loves his HK's.
Lou Flores Your son is man of good taste
Nice comparison. The P2000 is an interesting choice for our Border Patrol to have adopted, but obviously it is an excellent choice.
fuzzylikelegos Thanks for the feedback - much appreciated
Those are both very nice my friend. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks bro. Have become a big fan. Need a VP9 now
Two very nice guns but in a price range I would not want to go for in a pistol. After saying that I dare say they are Glock guys who with after market parts have spent similar money.
BEN TWOONEZERO Good point Ben. Many Glock guys easily have $800 into their guns
Good comparison. . Very nice
Gun Enthusiast Thanks bud
Nice comparison, Dan! Great looking guns!
Thanks bro I'm loving HK right now
Yeah, it looks sweet! Not quite in my price range, but I think I'm going to have to at least handle one next time I'm in the shop!
great looking guns bro!
Jarhead6 Thanks bro
I'll hold off on the P30 I love my P2000 V2 - Let's see what HK cooks up next.
not missing much brother lol
I started my HK journey with a p30 and sold it then later on picked up a p2000 v3 and havent looked back, would like to pick up a USP tac/compact but sadly theyre getting ridiculous in price in my area......11/1200+
Well done Dan!
KYTO82 Thanks Tim
Good vid my friend. I do love them HK's.
hk45shooter Yes sir they really are good guns. Good to hear from you buddy. I hope all is well
All is good my friend. How are things with you?
You know what? I was wrong. I thought you were nuts but now I'm carrying a P2000 V2 LEM., When you're wrong you're wrong and I was wrong as shit. Thank you TheFireArmGuy!
Im just glad the P2000 V2 is working well for you Joe
I'm dumb but not that dumb)
Anyway, p30sk v3 and p2000 all function flawless, had a USP .40 I wish I hadn't of traded but it got me a SIG Scorpion 1911 .45 acp (Which I'd be aching for in a bad way) so I'm happy.
P Hab Thanks bud and I plan to do a VI VII and VIII video pretty soon
I look forward to it stay worm brother.
I was debating what to get for my next buy, a used p2000 with an AE date code in excellent condition for $575 and it will take my vp9 mags or a used Glock 19 gen3 that is an 01/15 production date
jonathan retzsch I would get the HK. G19 are everywhere
the p2000 cost the same as kevlar and helmet now?
Yeah right around $600
Really fine guns Dan. Their somewhat out of my price range, but still very nice
gunnwild1 Yeah no doubt Jeff. I never expected to own two of these beauties myself
Thanks bud
Points well made
You sir have gained another subscriber.
Hi +TheFireArmGuy did you mean that you prefer the photoluminescent sights over the night sights, or just over the white sights? Thanks. Great review as usual.
+The Triggerati I prefer night sights however luminescent sights are pretty cool
Sr .. do you need to change the recoil spring in that gun ...?? and add in my question vp9 sk or p30 sk ...?? sorry for my lack of knowligement
Do u know What is the bumper on the Gide rod is supposed to do? Never seen that before .
Ted Grzelka It's been said to reduce recoil. I am yet to understand how
It’s to stop the front of the slide from slamming into part of the receiver. The full size USP doesn’t have one because it has a double, round spring setup buffer that Stops it. The p2000 has a flat coil spring and nylon buffer like the USP Compact to stop the impact
The side panel on your P30 needs to be reseated... it's not flush. Tiny little grooves inside when you slide it in... easy to miss the alignment.
I will check that out Jeff
I have an Hk p30 airsoft:D
I have a P30 and VP9.. they are awesome pistols. I'm considering a trade one of my 1911 for a p2000. I know he p30 and VP9 use the same mags. how about the p2000? do they share the same mags?
Except for length they are the same. P2000SK (10 round), P2000 (13 round), and P30 (15 round) all use the same magazine type. You just can't use the shorter mags in the larger frame guns. So a P2000 can use the P30/VP9 magazine, but not the other way around. Just like Glock.
+Josh Becker
yeah thats right. I bought P2000 v3 and it shoots like my p30. it feels a b little different on the grip but it feels the same on hand while shooting.
+Josh Becker Thanks! That is good info. I am looking to get either a P30sk or the P2000sk soon.
+Charlie & snoopy I think you'll like either one.
Josh Becker
Oh I'm sure I will.
Thank you
I love my p30L, but I need something smaller, I'm looking at a p2000sk or the p2000.
Moshe Dayan Cant go wrong with either. Check out the subcompact P30
Palmetto State Armory has the P2000 V3 in 40 caliber for 499 right now
Great deal
How's the recoil of the 40 in the p30? I had a usp compact in 40 and it didn't recoil much more than a 9mm. How would you say it compares to the p2000 9mm recoil
Its like nothing. The P30 eats it up - ruclips.net/video/mnMX2UqDgbs/видео.html
First to comment! Good apples to apples comparison of handguns that are too rich for my wallet right now. Good video.
nope
puu.sh/gbIYu.png
PIT Archer They are expensive but someday you will want one
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) You are too funny
TheFireArmGuy one day? I'd like them now. But it's like a mustang. I'd love to have one, but I can't afford it. They look well worth the money.
Hey Firearmguy, do your HK's have loose slide release levers on the right side?
zakmichael Yes both of them are
From what I've read that is a normal thing. Won't bother me a bit.
Now that you've given us some HK hand gun love. How about some HK rifle lovin?
MatteoSixSeventyFour I would love to Matteo but the closest I have is a CETME
Thx
Hey, what do you think is the best "spy handgun"?
***** What is a spy gun? Do you mean deap concealment? Look at NAA mini revolvers
Yeah that would be good for an up close assassin. What about something small enough to keep in your suit jacket, yet enough rounds to get out of hairy situation. My personal favorite is the Walther PP or glock 26.
Or i guess you could be Bruce Willis and shoulder holster a 92fs lol
@@codyfullmer1557 HK P7 M8.
I swear a few years back I was checking out what I thought was a P2000, and the slide finish had what looked like a shiny black finish on the slide. I have yet to see that kind of finish on any HK that I see in gun shops. Any idea what the heck model I was looking at that day???
+John Kennedy I have no idea without seeing it for myself. They do come with real nice finishes
Cool !!!
How about them x vp9 ?
Thanks !!!
umtempodepois Love it - here is my range review - ruclips.net/video/YCXwiMOE8Q0/видео.html
I was wondering if the mags on HK are interchangeable? I'm looking into a P2000 .40. I like the P30L n prefer it but hard to find in .40. Might just grab the .9mm. Great vid
Thanks Time
This guy sounds like doug from 50 first dates. Its not juths.
P2000 doesn't have a safety right ?
No it doesn't. I just picked P2000 V2 with LEM trigger today. P2000 V3 SA/DA has a decocker. HK USP and HK P30 have a safety.
P30 may or may not have a safety. Both options are available.
Only thing I don't like about my vp9 is the luminescent sights. They look cheap and they do not glow at all at night unless charged by light, and even then, they don't glow for very long. Awesome video!
+brdpit Thanks buddy
Can you VS the HKP2000 & HKvP9?
Have the VP9 but not the P2000 anymore
How do you like them compared to the VP9?
jonathan retzsch The feel is the same as the P30. The only difference I can tell is stricker versus hammer action
There is an extended mag release for the USP-C and P2000 on hkparts.com
Thanks Joshua
No problem man. Its what I have on my USP Compact. It makes a difference.
Both of those pistols can be found NIB much cheaper than $1,000. Try CDNN and Grab a gun.
+ejkool76 Thats true, MSRP has the P30 at 1100
I purchased my P30 V3 9mm for under $720. NIB.
I bought it from CDNN back when the P30 was first introduced
P2000
