    This is the first in-depth review I've ever seen of a classic H&K pistol. To think if I had played Counter Strike instead of Halo back in the day, I might have cooler toys! H&K seems more interesting to me now.

    Just broke mine in today. I bought the 9mm, new. Put about 150 rounds through it. Flawless function, very little recoil and I like the decocker just fine. Easy to breakdown and clean. A underrated pistol IMO. Picked up black hawk holster for it 👍 enjoyed your vid and subbed 😎

    Recently purchased an H&K P2000. I added GT-5000 grip tape, Trijicon Night Sights, and the OEM H&K extended paddle magazine release. The DA trigger is a somewhat heavy pull (which I personally prefer in a CCW firearm), but it’s smooth throughout and remarkably lacks staging. SA trigger pull, to me, is fine out of the box. An 11 pound H&K hammer spring would lighten up the DA trigger pull, and still reliably ignite all primers, but after 1,000 rounds fired, I don't feel the need for this modification whatsoever. P30/VP9 17 round magazines, with X Grip spacers, fit and fire flawlessly. This 20+ year old design pistol might still be the best pistol for CCW. I actually prefer it over my Cajunized CZ P-01 and Sig P365XL Comp.

      I just picked one up recently! And I have a p-01 as well. The HK just carries so much nicer in appendix with the lack of that beaver tail poking me awkwardly with the P01. As much as I love the trigger and the low bore axis of the cz the HK ticks a lot of the right boxes for me and has so far proven itself to be more reliable than the cz as well. It's my shtf go to.

      @@DIYDad1 A lot of people mention that the H&K P2000 is "such an old design". Well, so is the wheel. I carry my P2000, with a 17 round magazine X Grip mag spacer. Still very concealable, and H&K reliability is isn't a marketing ploy.

    I love my hk p2000. Red headed step child in the line up. Milled the slide for a 508t from wright armory. Converted from da/sa to 4.1 LEM with the short reset. Hk 45 mag release. Slim slide releases, tlr-7a light. It’s seen a lot of tinkering, but the thing was a tack driver even out of the box. My favorite CCW.

      I'm happy to see people still enthusiastic and carrying these daily after all these years. I just recently got one myself. Barely got a chance to get a couple mags through it this weekend so I'm still getting used to it but so far I love it, just as much as my p30sk but they definitely shoot just a little different.

    Damn I love the P2000 but when it came down to my next HK Pistol, it came down to a P2000 or a P30 and I went with the P30L due to the ergos on it fitting my hand so well. Nice to know Langdon Tactical is working on these pistols now and giving us more options as far as upgrades. I love my hyper competition type guns with their red dots and triggers and all that cool stuff but an HK DA/SA Pistol will always be my first love.

    Great review, yes they are hard to find, I just bought one again for the second time, I messed up and let my 1st one get away. I’m a huge fan of these HK pistols. I love the USP compact 9mm (my EDC) and can’t find them anymore and I wanted another gun this size with LEM trigger so P2000 is the way to go. I have the p2000sk with LEM trigger that makes for a great deep carry gun during summer months. Thes HK’s are the greatest, last forever and since switching to usp compact I am pretty much done with all my Glocks and other handguns. Now we just need HK to make a gun the size of HellCat, but till then I’ll stick with p2000sk.
    Great review.

    I appendix carry a P2000 heavy LEM as my primary carry pistol. I swapped the magazine release with the HK45 release and that made mag changes much easier. I also swapped the magazine baseplates for flat ones as the pinky extension ones would catch on my shirt.

      I have a bad experience with LEM, I think the first P2000 I ever fired was the heavy DAO version but the guy said it was LEM and I've had a bad taste ever since
      Its just very odd to me, I want to try a light LEM to see and maybe refine my tastes but I don't think I'd go out of my way to buy one

      @@shazarad4127 LEM is a bit of an acquired taste and you're either gonna like it or hate. I find that unless you ride the reset LEM kinda sucks in my opinion. I'd say LEM is better for a carry gun while traditional DA/SA is better for the range or a duty gun.

    Bought the V3 in .40 a few years ago. Ended up converting it to a Variant 2, and replaced a few springs, to improve the trigger pull weight. Now I have a consistent 3lb trigger, and with the flat V2 hammer, appendix carry is extremely comfortable. And being a 40, the recoil system is probably the best I have shot. You could compare it to a 9mm. These firearms are amazing.

    @tommytP2000 9 месяцев назад

    I have mine in .40 with the EFK P30 conversion barrel. Honestly, wanted the P30, but the P30 is not on the California Roster. Compare to my striker-fired VP9 and Shield; it's the one I've practiced with most due to the 11-pound double-action trigger pull (which I've learned to actually love and it adds to the safety feature) and because it's in .40. I recall when I first purchased this, it was a bit of a learning curve, but once you get that proper grip and trigger pull down, it's great and probably the smoothest shooting .40 of its size. The sk in .40, which I recently sold, shoots nicer then a Glock 27. The single action is really where it shines. Having the 9mm conversion barrel makes it fun because you can warm up shooting 9mm; then shoot off your less cost-effective .40 rounds, then end the day back to 9mm makes it a one gun fun day at the range. I also feel once you master this gun, you can shoot anything. Once you become proficient with it, you'd be hard pressed to ever want to part ways with it. Final thought being the machining and over-built quality compared to Glock and others is bar-none and its the one pistol that I love to hold and dry-fire daily. I would love to see an upgraded design to include front slide serrations, a pic rail and inter-changable side panels because that alone will immediately make this pistol conform to today's pistol designs.

      The p229 is overpriced for what it is if you buy it new. The 229 is also bigger than the P2000 by a good amount. With my hands I can always get a full grip on the 229 but not with the 2000, my hand will fit in the magazine extension lip only. If the 2000 had flush fit magazines my pinky would hang off or fit weirdly
      I think for what its worth, the 2000 is a better made gun. They'll shoot about the same recoil wise but I'd trust either to carry. I'm not a fan of the P22X series of pistols personally but thats just me
